  5. Hello all, The journey has been wonderful. I have learned so much about myself and my body. Now that I have turned the corner and am able to eat almost anything, I find myself eating sugar and carbs again. HELP I need some support and suggestions as I know the carb road is a dirty world. I know that I have slowed down with the weight loss and that is ok I just need to figure out this carb addict thing and it frightens me a bit. Need to get control back. Thank you all for your comments
  6. This will sound redundant - but you really need to walk walk walk. I was sleeeved on 5/7 and the journey is exciting and a learning experience. I had gas and constipation like crazy - but that has passed. Look at each week as your body healing from the surgery and you will be fine. Keep me posted. But walk, I found this out the hard way! You will be fine.........

  8. Hang in there! I went thru the same thing. I got really creative with protein shakes, and yes - the shakes I liked before surgery - well I ended up getting rid of everything except "unjury". I put frozen pudding in it. I even got the flavored sugar free coffee creamers and used those. Each week something changes tho - 8 days after I was still mostly on shakes and broth. I made my own chicken broth and even flavored it with some teriyaki or soy. Good luck - it definately gets better and better and better. I am 32 days post op
  9. UGH - can anyone out there give me some suggestions. I am 4 weeks post op - otherwise doing great by the extreme nausea is really driving me nuts. I constantly feel as tho I am going to get sick. Any advise it so greatly appreciated.
  10. OK - the GAS went away after surgery and is back! What do I do? I sense that I am not even drinking Water right. I know this is just another fork in the road but I sincerely would like some feedback. Thanks all..................
  11. I had my surgery in Mexico with Dr Garcia on 5/7 and have been following your posts. I have a question for you.....How do I contact you on this board personally?
  12. I found that the protein shakes are the way to go. I freeze 1/2 of my skim milk & like the Unjury products. Tonight I will try the unflavored protein powder. The chocolate pudding sounds great.

  15. Any actually tomorrow I head over to Polish Stoneware to pick up a few small dishes. Everyone needs to remember you eat with your eyes first
  16. Great ideas Lisa. I am 6 days out of surgery and when I got home I started drinking my liquids from a very pretty red wine glass! Everything tastes better that way!
  17. Having just returned from Tijuana I can tell you it was on the top 3 decisions I have ever made! Dr Garcia and his group is the best you will find. I had heard of other groups in Mexico and I can only say do your research. The 2 nights in the hospital and 2 nights at the hotel were perfect. My family is happy that I am home and there is NO NEED to worry about Tijuana with this group. Be smart don't do anything stupid like go out at night - as you would not do in your own country! I am happy to speak one on one with anyone - just send my a note.

  21. Not surprised the US doctor went nuts on you. If they would smarten up along with the insurance companies they would keep us in the USA for surgery! I too am on my way to Mexico this weekend and not concerned at all. Take care of yourself!
  22. The costco brand is good. I really like the vanilla flavor. I also ordered the "unjury" on line and the chocolate splendor taste just like choco milk or hot chocolate. Try to also mix some crystal light into the vanilla flavor. I am just 4 days away from surgery but have found the above two drinks the best. Good luck - I will be in your shoes soon!
