  1. Congrats to you Lenny-boy....the pain will go away after a few days and then the soreness will go away in a few weeks...each day will get a little easier...just follow the instructions of your doctor....take care and I hope the pain meds helped you...come back and post your progress...
  2. CONGRATS ON YOUR SURGERY DATE...that is great....you will be in band land before you know it..It is awesome...I love my band...I have no regrets...
  3. Good luck...I hope that all goes well ...I hope you are pre-approved and can have the surgery right away....OUCH on the KIDNEY STONES...I have had four of them over the last couple of years, and I know how painful they are...the most terrible pain I have ever had...and I have had open heart surgery and two children....
  4. Welcome ...and your secret is safe here....I don't blame you for not telling everyone...sometimes it is best just to keep it to yourself or share the info with just a few close friends...You need to surround yourself with supportive people and you will find lots of support here in LBT(Lap Band Talk)....I hope that you find the answers you are looking for...I was banded on 4/6/07 and I have lost 46 lbs...this is amazing..I couldn't be happier with my band...best thing I have ever done for myself...I was a self pay...$15,000.00 and worth every single penny...
  5. congrats....I know you must be so excited...that is great...welcome to LBT, and soon to bandland...it is wonderful....
  6. Hello....you mean you are one week out post op or pre-op? Which ever you are, welcome to LBT...hope everything is going well...
  7. congrats on your surgery date..that is great....I hope that you will be very happy...I was banded on 4/6/07 and I have lost 46 lbs...couldn't be happier with the band...it has made a huge difference in my life....
  8. Welcome to LBT(lap band talk)...congrats on your surgery date..that is soon....I hope you will be very happy... there is a thread that explains how to get the ticker on your signature.....they can explain it better than I can....good luck with your surgery....post and let us know how you are doing...
  9. Yahoo...that Is Great... Welcome To Lbt(lap Band Talk) Congrats On Your Decision And Your Upcoming Surgery..
  10. I think that you will lose the amount of weight that you need to lose...IF YOU WORK AT IT....It is a much slower process than gastric bypass, but you still lose the same amount of weight over a longer period of time...The band is only a tool....remember that....don't think that just because you get the band, then magically the weight will just fall off...you have to work with the band...You have to change your eating habits, you have to work out, you have to make good choices...the thing about the band, it makes you behave...I can't eat more than a half a cup per meal...If I do, I will be sick...well...I choose not to get sick, and I choose to do what I am told to do...the doctor gives specific orders and I really try to follow them to the letter....I am not saying that I do everything just perfect, but I really do try... Good luck with your decision....I hope that you are happy with whatever you decide to do...
  11. as for me, I have no regrets...I love my band...I was banded on 4/6/07 and I have lost 46 lbs....I follow the rules and do as I was told to do....I work out every day, 30 minutes a day....I am not saying that something can't happen to your band or your port if you follow all the rules, because I have seen post where that has happened...people did as they were told and still something went wrong with the port or the band....it is just a risk you have to take or not take....I would do it again tomorrow...good luck with your decision..I hope that you make the one that will make you happy...
  12. Paul, Welcome to LBT(lap band talk)....I know exactly how you feel...I felt the same way...I was excited, anxious, scared, all kinds of different emotions...I was also a self pay...insurance denied , so I decided I would just pay for my own....from the day I went in and said I would self pay, it was two weeks and four days until I had the surgery...I was banded on 4/6/07 and I have lost 46 lbs...If I had to, I would do it again today...I have been so happy with my band....
  13. I can feel mine, but not see it...it is not a bad thing...I am constantly aware of it being there, but not in a bad way...
  14. Keith, So sorry to hear about your problem with the band...I know this must be very frustrating for you...I wish you well...
  15. Ladies, The Pain On The Left Side Where Your Port Is, Is Normal...this Will Get Better In A Few Weeks...don't Lift Anything Heavy...take It Easy For A Few Weeks And You Will Be All Better...the Pain In The Shoulder From The Gas Can Be Helped With Liquid Gas -x...i Tried The Strips, But They Didn't Work As Well For Me As The Liquid Gas-x....my Suggestion.....if You Have Pain Meds, Take Them...that Is What They Are For....each Day You Will Be Able To Take Less And Less.....but I Would Suggest That You Take Them...you Won't Be Able To Drive , But At Least You Will Not Be In Pain...
  16. Hi... I Have Had Open Heart Surgery..nearly Six Years Ago...i Was 48 Years Old...i Have Been Banded And Had No Problems...i Did Have To Have Clearance From My Doctor To Have The Surgery....just An Extra Precaution...
  17. I Have Never Had Any Of The Problems That You Have Had...i Was Banded In April And I Am Ready For My Third Fill...never Slimmed, Pb, Or Had To Stay Over A Toilet...i Can Eat Just About Anything...as Long As I Eat Slowly And Chew My Food Well...

  19. Gayle, Congrats To You...i Know You Must Be So Glad This Is Over...now To Start The Healing...good Luck And I Hope You Are Feeling Great Really Soon...
  20. I agree with the others....don't start doing things you know you are not supposed to do.....stick to the plan and DO NOT EAT ANYTHING THAT YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE....THIS WILL PASS....BUT IF YOU MESS UP YOUR BAND, YOU WILL BE SO MAD AT YOURSELF....
