Karen, Welcome to LBT(lap band talk) this is a great place for you to be...and don't worry...all the feelings you are having are normal...you will be fine..and don't think you won't lose the weight, you will...just follow the rules....do exactly what you are supposed to do and you will lose.....good luck...and congratulations on your surgery date....I LOVE MY BAND....IT HAS BEEN WONDERFUL FOR ME...

I would just ignore the hunger and go to bed...or....drink water...stay well hydrated....this will help with your hunger...

I get a fill every six weeks...the last one, was only a small fill, doctor didn't think I needed one, because I had lost 9 lbs from the last fill ...so...she only put a small amount of fill in my band...I go again Sept. 24th....

Melissa, Welcome to LBT(LAP BAND TALK)..I was denied by my insurance company and I was a self pay....contact Capitol One....they have a cosmetic surgery loan that is low interest...and lapband is considered cosmetic surgery....or least for the loan it is considered cosmetic surgery..you can be pre-approved within one hour....then you are good to go...my payments are not that bad...it is so worth it....once I decided to self pay , two weeks and four days , I had the surgery...

Hi Don, Welcome to lap band talk....your food bill will be reduced...I am only able to eat a half a cup...I buy less food for home and I order less food at restaurants....and I always have a to-go- box ....I would say I cut my food bill in half...

welcome to LBT(lap band talk) and congrats on your surgery...just hang in there...the liquid phase will be over and you will be able to move forward...it is so worth it....stay well hydrated and it will help with the hunger....I hope that you continue to do well....just remember....NOTHING TASTE AS GOOD AS BEING THIN.....

I don't know ...I have not had any of these problems...and I don't know if it would help to qualify you for the surgery...I had open heart surgery and it didn't qualify me to have lapband....

Congrats On Your Banding And Your 12 Lbs Lost..that Is Really Good....i Had To Wait 6 Weeks For A Fill And I Get One Every Six Weeks....the First Fill Did Not Give Me A Lot Of Restriction, But The Second One Did....the Third Was Just A Small Fill Because I Had Lost 9 Lbs In Six Weeks..and They Didn't Think I Needed Much Of A Fill....i Have Lost 50 Lbs Since April...i Am Very Happy With The Band...i Would Do It All Over Again...best Thing I Ever Did For Myself...

I Have Been Blessed With A Very Supportive Family And Friends...surround Yourself With The Supportive Ones And Stay Away From Those That Do Not Support You In This Decision....

I just start my day off with a protein shake and that helps...I try to eat foods that are high in protein...I also take a one a day chewable vitamin...everyday....

no, I am very lucky...all of my family is so supportive...I didn't have any negative remarks made to me at all.....but....if I had, I wouldn't let them stop me...I am my own person....and I am an adult and I can make my own choices....I researched the surgery and I felt completely safe in having the procedure done..some people pop off about the surgery and they don't even know anything about it....maybe because they are jealous and maybe because they don't want to see you get thin...

Yes, there is a certain amount of risk with this surgery and any other surgery...You need to go to the seminars, research all areas and find out if you are comfortable taking the chance...as for me, I would go again tomorrow and have it done...I love my band..

Tami, I would start off by finding a seminar on lapband surgery...and go from there...they have them here on a regular basis...

Yummie, Drink plenty of water , or sugar free drinks all day....quit drinking 30 minutes before you eat and one hour after you eat...stay well hydrated and this will help you to curb your hunger....I guess you are on mushies at this point...when cooking supper, just have you a cold glass of something to drink and just keep sipping on it until you have finished cooking....keep your eye on the prize..and remember....NOTHING TASTE AS GOOD AS BEING THIN.....

Yes, Yes, Yes...it Is Perfectly Normal To Have Second Thoughts...i Was A Nervous Wreck ...

I have dentures and no...I have had no problem chewing nor do I get food stuck...

That is great...don't you just love the band? I do...I would do it again tomorrow...I have no regrets...

welcome to band land....glad to hear your surgery went well....I was able to take my pain meds without any problem, but I understand you not wanting to take them...some people do get really sick and that would not be a good thing.... I hope you continue to feel good and your recovery is fast....once again..congrats on your band..
