  3. no...mine are not painful at all...
  4. Welcome to LBT(lapband talk)....you are doing great...don't worry about it being kinda slow at the beginning...but....are you exercising? Exercising, will make a huge difference....if you walk one mile a day..just one mile...you burn calories, speed up your metabolism, and build endurance...it is a huge factor in your weight loss....get you some Leslie Sansone's ...walk away the pounds... dvd's...they are great...anyone of any size can do these...they have helped me so much....
  5. wow....way to go....sounds like you are doing just great...and ...welcome to lapband talk...
  6. congrats on your decision to have the sugery..that is your first step...sounds like you have been back and forth on this, but looks like you are ready to move forward..you will be fine...you will be so glad when you make it to bandland...it is wonderful over here...please, come join in and get ready for a wonderful journey...
  7. Congrats on your surgery date...get ready for a wonderful journey....
  8. Oh bless your heart...I am sorry to hear about this..I know you must be so disappointed...
  9. Congrats on your surgery date...I don't know how much time you should ask off?? Everyone is different...I was not able to go back to work after a week, but some are okay after just a few days...so...I don't know..you will just have to wait and see...I was still on pain meds for the first couple of weeks...
  10. Hello Barb, and welcome to LBT...I hope that you will be able to have the surgery and that your insurance will pay for it...mine didn't...that is okay, I paid the $15,000.00 and I would do it again tomorrow...I love my band...best gift I have ever given to myself...
  11. cONGRATS ON YOUR SURGERY DATE....I AGREE WITH DONNA...GETS LOTS OF EXERCISE AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER...GOOD LUCK..LET US KNOW HOW YOU ARE DOING.. .DI ..
  12. I really don't know what is going on...but I do know that you should not be drinking with your meals...that is a romper room no no...when you get your fills, do you go on liquids for 24 hours, then soft foods for 24 hours, and then to regular food??? I got a fill on Monday, did liquids for 24 hours and then soft foods..this is my fifth fill...and I am very restricted..which I am glad..I am not hungry...I drink a protein shake for breakfast every morning and it does not keep me from losing weight...I also workout everyday...I didn't workout last night, because I have not had enough calories and I didn't want to burn up the few I got...I will try to get more calories today and workout tonight...be sure to get your protein and liquids down..that is very important...
  13. first off...congrats on your surgery....and yes it is normal to be in pain for the first couple of weeks...you are healing...and no, you will not always have the indigestion feeling in your chest...and I wouldn't not be eating anything solid, unless your doctor said you could...follow the post op diet to the letter...
  14. congrats to you on your approval...get ready for an awesome journey...
  15. nuts....this and turkey are the only two things that I have a hard time getting down...so...I try to stay away from both...
  16. Wow...that is fast...I wish you all the luck in world...get ready for a wonderful journey....
  17. Congrats on your surgery date..that is great....I would have liquid gas-x with me at the surgery center or hospital...I took it right after surgery and it was great...it really does help with the pain from the gas...also, walk, walk, walk, ...the sooner you start walking, the sooner the gas pains will ease...you will be uncomfortable for a few days, or at least I was, but nothing unbearable...and take your pain medication that the doctor prescribes for you...that is why they give it to you...I have seen where people didn't want to take any pain medication..I don't want to be strung out on drugs, but I didn't want to be in pain, either.....hang in there and good luck to you...
  18. Okay....first off, stop eating as soon as you start to feel full...don't eat until you feel like your stomach will pop...that is to much....see how little you can eat and feel full...don't see how much you can eat...and no...don't get another fill right away...sometimes it takes weeks for your band to feel restricted after a fill...and a good rule to follow...stop eating after a half a cup...don't eat anymore...no matter if you are a little hungry...a half a cup and no more...you will start to feel full...don't test your band...just do the half a cup and stop...and remember...stop drinkin g 30 minutes before any meal and 1 hour after you eat...
  19. Joanna, Give yourself some time to feel better and then you will feel better about the surgery...You will have that quality of life after a few weeks...hang in there...it will be so worth it...
  20. I had six...I also had a hernia repaired...
  21. I had a hernia repaired when my band was put into place..no problems...now I don't have acid reflux anymore...yahooo....
  22. That sounds really good..I am going to check into these...that could be my breakfast...
  23. Congrats on your band and your fast weight loss....just enjoy it...and don't worry about it being to fast...It will slow down...I think I lost maybe 10 lbs the first week...I was just happy to be losing...enjoy the journey...
  24. Did your doctor give you anything to take for nausea? I had a prescription for Phenergran and I even had to wear a patch behind the ear for three days...day one being the night before surgery and then two more days...I had no problems...call your doctor and see if they can give you a prescription for Phenergran...
  25. I don't know....I do a four mile workout seven days a week..I don't really enjoy it, but I know I have to exercise to lose the weight... If you are obsessed, that is okay...At least you are seeing results...and you are not obsessing over food, right?
