I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who can eat pretty much anything I want to after surgery. Of course I aim to make good healthy choices and eat only a fraction of what I used to eat but I can eat sugar, fried food, popcorn, bread, Pasta or rice if I want to. I'm 8 weeks post op and I haven't found any food that my sleeve will not tolerate. I read so much about people with a sleeve who can barely eat anything. I was starting to feel like something was wrong with me.

I was allowed to slowly add raw fruits and veggies after 6 weeks.

My NUT told me to take 2000 mcg a day. She said if you take more than that it's a waist of money because you just lose it in your urine. IDK, I've only been taking it for two weeks.

I was sleeved on 2/14/12. I've had no problems at all post-op. It seems like I can eat pretty much anything I want to eat. I haven't tried rice yet because I am also a little scared of rice. Sometimes my restriction feels small and then other times I feel like maybe I can eat too much. I'm doing really well as far as paying attention to not over stuffing myself and knowing when to stop. I think my loss has been slow but of course my doc says I'm doing fine. He told me I have to eat 1000 calories a day to lose weight but somedays that's hard to do when your trying to make healthy choices or you're on the go. So far I've lost 20 pounds since surgery. Wish it was more but I know I've lost lots of inches. I'm down 2 sizes in clothes and when my fiance hugged me this morning he said I was melting away. That feels soooo good!

<p>I have to eat 1000 calories a day to keep my weight lose steady. Some days it's pretty hard. I eat mostly dairy, eggs and tuna. I don't buy low fat cheese because if I cut all the fat out I can't reach my calorie goal. I add a little reduced fat mayo made with olive oil to my tuna to add calories. I cook my eggs in olive oil to add calories and good fat. When you're able to eat nuts, an oz. of nuts will give you calories plus Protein and good fats. You can also add Peanut Butter to your Protein Shakes. Good luck

I had no pain at all in the recovery room. I was so tired from the drugs that I could barely hold my eyes open until the next morning. I went home the next evening and only took my pain meds a couple of times. After day 3 I felt pretty good.

I was a slow loser and my doctor told me I wasn't eating enough calories. I had to up my calorie intake to 1000 calories a day. I also have to get 70 grams of protien and at least 48 oz of Water a day. After I up'd my calories I lost 6 pounds in 10 days.

My ring finger has gone from a size 7 to a 5 1/2. I'm 37 and my high school class ring is a size 7, LOL. Also, tried on a watch and Bracelet today that used to fit kind of snug and now they hang on my wrist. It's nice to see the success with my own two eyes.

I'm down 20 pounds since the day of surgery. Down from a size 26 to a 22, yay me! What a great Valentine's Day gift to ourselves!

I was sleeved on 2/14 and I've lost 20 pounds and 2 sizes since my surgery date. I had 3 weeks where the scale was just going up a pound and down a pound. It looks like you're doing great!

I want to try this one but I haven't yet. I won't make my own sauce. I'm going to just buy a jar of pizza sauce and use reduced fat cheese. If you try this recipe let me know how it turns out.

I take Bariatric Fusion chewables that I buy from my surgeon. I'd like to take something different because I have to take 3 a day and they are kinda hard, it takes me forever to chew them up because my teeth are sensitive.

Believe what you want to but it's working for me. It's not too hard to eat 1000 calories when you eat 6 times a day focus on Protein.< /p>

Teambrown4,
I know exactly how you are feeling. I'm 6 weeks post-op today. I lost 12 pounds the first week and then nothing during weeks 2 & 3. The scale was just up and down a pound or 2 and that was it. I started to think why did I go through this when I could have lost like this on Weight Watchers!
I had a post-op visit with my surgeon on the 15th and told him I thought my weight loss was too slow. I thought the first month or so would be my biggest loss. He told me I had to eat at least 1000 calories a day to lose weight. I was only getting 600 to 800 a day. He also said to exercise at least 30 minutes because after 15 minutes is when you burn calories.
I haven't had any problems with food, my sleeve hasn't rejected anything so far and I've never felt sick or vomited since surgery. I do feel tired somedays but if I make myself excercise I feel better. So, I eat 6 times a day and use myfitnesspal.com to make sure I eat at least 1000 calories a day, I get at least 60 grams of Protein and try to get at least 48 ounces of liquids. Since I up'd my calories I've lost 6 pounds in 10 days! It feels great to finally see some success on the scale. Also, I had to buy new bras (2 inches smaller around) and I'm down 2 sizes is pants. Even when the scale doesn't show it we will lose inches. I know it can be discouraging but keep the faith.

I eat 6 times a day. Small meals/snacks of course. I've been pretty good about getting my 1000 calories a day and I've lost 5 pounds this week. I've lost 20 pounds since surgery and I'm down 2 sizes in pants. It feels so good to have some success.

Maybe it's reflux. The acid burn in your throat could make it feel that way.

I would see a chiropractor. Maybe you're just out of alignment. It's amazing how good my body feels after seeing mine.

I was yo yoing at week four and my doctor told me I have to eat at least 1000 calories to lose weight. I up'd my calories and have stuck to 1000 calories a day. My scale is finally moving! I've lost 5 in the last week.

I was so afraid of eating too much but it's working. I had lost 14 pounds since surgery and felt like I was failing. I'm so glad this is working.

Well, looks like the doctor was right. I was eating anywhere from 600 - 800 calories a day and I felt like my weight loss was too slow so soon after surgery. Last week my doctor told me I had to eat at least 1000 a day to lose weight. I've stuck to the 1000 calories a day and have lost 4 pounds in 5 days! Finally I feel like surgery was worth it! I know I've lost lots of inches because my clothes are falling off but it's sooooo nice to see success in black and white. Yay me!

You should always go by your doctors post-op diet just to be safe.
On my post-op diet I was allowed to have the turkey, cooked veggies and cheese in the mushy stage 21 days post-op. Raw veggies and more dense protien (like drier meats) after 6 weeks post-op.

I did the same thing. I lost 12 pounds the first week and then nothing weeks 2 and 3. I had a post-op visit with my surgeon at week 3 and he told me I had to eat 1000 calories a day to lose weight. I was getting in around 600 - 800 a day. I up'd my calories and the scale started moving. I try to eat six times a day and track my calories and protien on myfitnesspal.com. I know it's hard to eat much at this stage but if you eat often and focus on protien rich foods it can be done. I've read a lot of posts from people who never eat more than 600 calories a day but this works for me. I hope you find what works for you. Good luck
