    So Whats My Real Weight?

Weight yourself as soon as you wake up in the morning, after you've gone potty. That would be your true weight. Being naked would be your truest weight.

    Sleeved 4/5

I've been stuck at 194 for about 3 wks now. I want to get in my 180's so badly!! I'll be 3 months on May 6th and that's my goal.

Am I Considered A Slow Loser?

I'm a slow loser, too. Surgery was Feb 6 and I've only lost 35 lbs. But that's okay. It's better for me. ONly thing I don't like are these stalls. Seems like I won't lose for 3 wks, then will lose 3 lbs. My big problem is exercise.....not doing it. I keep saying, "when the weather gets better". ( :

    Coffee I Hope!

I find I tolerate decaf better than regular. I'm also drinking iced tea. Not as much as I used to, put it's a treat. I use a straw, too.

    Tennessee

Great advice! I roll deli ham or turkey around string cheese sticks and put them in foil for my lunch at work. I wasn't good w protein until I bought a "Bullet" blender. It's great! I use 1% milk, 1/2 frozen banana, ice and 2 scoops for protein. It mixes right in the mug you drink out of. I blend it and drink it in the car on my way to work. Also, protein bars are in my handbag for emergencies. You've just got to find out what works for you. But, YOU'VE got to put some energy into making it work for you.
  8. I was sleeved Feb 6th. I've lost 30 lbs. I'm a slow loser.....also have hypothyroid. Plus, I'm 66 yrs old and I think that makes a difference. I really haven't gotten into exercising, but just joined a gym. My biggest problem is getting enough protein in. I'm happy w my results so far and don't mind losing slowly.

    1 Year Surgeversary!

Congratulations!!! Could you tell us more about how you feel physically? When does this tiredness go away??? Do you have any physical problems from having this surgery? Do you find it hard to get in all your Protein? Fluids? Sorry to bug you, but if you have time and don't mind, I'd love to hear more.

    Riding In A Car..

Since your father would be driving, you might do okay. You'd need to take rest stops so you could get out and walk. I'd hate to be cooped up in a car if I had a lot of gas pain. Also, how long do you stay in MX? If you had 2-3 nights under your belt there, it would be a big help. What do the rest of you say?????

    Movie Snack Suggestions

I've gone to the show twice. The popcorn smell didn't even appeal to me......and I DO love my popcorn.....or I should say, "DID"..... I took a EAS drink the first time and just water the second time. What is nice is that my two girlfriend never get popcorn.....so that makes it easier. FYI, I think popcorn is a real NO NO for sleevers.

    Newbie

Hi Ann, I think we might be the only ones over age 60 that post on this board. I weighed 195 this morning. I feel like my weight coming off will be slower than others because of my age and lack of exercise. As soon as it gets warmer, I plan to walk more. Best wishes to your success! Kathy
  18. I just got my labs done last week. Everything was excellent, but my protein. That didn't surprise me. The doc explained why it's so important for me to get my numbers up. So I'm working on it.....but not very well. ) :

Three Days Out And I Have Questions

Oh, does this post ever bring back the memories! You think this is forever when you are in those first few weeks. But be patient....it does get better. For me, the first two weeks were the hardest. Your belly is sore & noisy. It's uncomfortable to sleep. It's hard to drink and eat. Plus, you are a little afraid. I still don't get in enough Protein. Plus, my stomach can be a little uncomfortable at times. BUT, I've lost over 30 lbs.! And people are noticing I've lost weight! I'm over 65 yrs of age, and I feel like I've added years to my life w this surgery.

    Mushy Or Solid Before Time?!?!

I would suggest Cream of Wheat instead of oatmeal. It really goes down easy....and so comforting. ( : I put a tiny bit of brown sugar on top. That's the only sweet I've had since surgery.
