  1. Hello everyone, right now I am feeling really bad, I have been staring at this pizza in my freezer since I got home from surgery over 3 weeks ago.............. and well I cooked it tonight, and made a pig out of myself................. the first time I have done something like this............ HELP............. I have been getting full pretty quick, and tonight it was like it went down without any problem. I know I am not the only one that has done this.......... afterall, this kind of behavior is why most of us are here........I scared myself............ cause I was doing so good. Any input or support would be great to hear right now.............. I hope everyone else is doing wonderful............ Keep up the hard work, lord knows for me, Tomorrow is a new day, and I am going to do better! I had to vent............ thank you everyone for listening. Jodie:(

Wow, I was just reading posts, and I have been feeling that way too. I am starting my 4th week out tomorrow, and I feel like I am eating too much all the time, I am eating a lot less than I did before, but I keep having to remind myself too, that I am not restricted yet. I guess I am just ready for that 2 or 3 bite thing tooo soon........... hehe, cuz than I will know that band is working. Right now the gas is just awful, but I talked about that on another thread. Take care all, and just know there is someone out there to talk to or relate to in some way, and they could be going through the very same thing as you speak. Hugz to all. Jodie
  4. Thank you Rebeccalee. I am so glad this is ok.............. I couldn't believe what that xray showed with all the gas in my actual stomach. But I am trying to do better, and taking Gas x like candy............ I am going to get some of those Mylicon drops tomorrow and some beano to try. I hope it all passes soon.......... poot poot! hehe Good luck to you, and hugzzz Jodie
  5. Oh one more thing, yes I am having no problems with my BM's, no constipation or diarrhea. Everything else is going great, just the gas. Jodie
  6. Hey New Hope, thank you for the reply, Yes I am drinking my water (between meals of course) and I am walking a great deal. Say NO to beans......... hehe I will try the those drops...... I will do anything at this point. I think I am making good food choices, been eating healthy........... just was trying to make sure I got my protein requirements in with the beans. I am going to try and make some changes and see what happens. Thank you again, and Keep up the good work you are doing. Hugz to you. Jodie
  7. Yes I had a post op diet. But the first week was liquids, second week, mushy, 3 week, introducing regular foods, 4th week, create my own preferences. I have done very well thus far, walking 2 1/2 miles now and haven't missed a day. This is new for me. I am not going to eat any more beans for awhile............ and no onions, or anything that might cause gas and see what happens. Thanks for the reply............... any advise is great news.............. Take care and Hugz to you. Jodie
  8. Hey there Frank, Congrats on being banded. I am so glad everything went great. You both are on the road now!!!!!!! wooohoooooo. Take it easy ok, and let yourself heal. Keep up the walking. You will feel great in no time. Hugz to you both. Jodie
  9. Hello everyone, I was banded on Sept. 17, about 3 1/2 weeks post op. I am a nurse, and I had an xray done where I work the other nite, cuz I wanted to see my band and I was having some major feelings of fullness in my stomach, felt like gas, with pain in my back too. The xray showed my stomach is full of gas, the pouch is empty though. I wondered what was causing this??? I have been eating a lot of beans, which I am sure may be contributing, but not this much. I am taking gas ex since yesterday, and still not much relief. Has anyone else experienced this, after being this far out of surgery? I am wondering if my stomach is just not ready for regular food yet or what? It didn't start until I started eating regular food. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you. And good luck to everyone. Hugzzzzzzz Keep up the good work everyone!!! Jodie

  11. Hey Pam, Just wanted to say congrats on your band too. I hope you are doing great! I am doing good, but I like you are worried about lifting and such. I took off 2 1/2 weeks myself, I go back to work this coming wednesday. I work in ICU, so lots of ventilated patients to lift and such. I am just going to take it easy and count on my coworkers for their muscles. Thank goodness for teamwork! Money is way toooooooooo tight around this joint now, got to go backkkkk to WORK!!!! Anyway, feel free to email me anytime. Would love to chat and compare notes. Take care and hugz to you Jodie:D
  12. Hey Dow and Debbie, You both have made a very good decision and it took a lot of guts................ You both will be fine, and I look forward to giving you both all the encouragement I can. I was banded on the 17th of this month in Monterrey too, but with Dr. Rodriguez. I had my surgery at Santa Engracia Hospital........... it is very clean and beautiful, the nurses speak very little english, so be prepared for that. About tipping............ the taxi drivers expect tips and they speak very little english if any. Our dollar is worth 10.50 there so go by that as far as tipping. I will be thinking about you both. Look forward to hearing from you both when you get back home. Keep a smile on your faces........... and take care! Hugz to you both. Jodie
  13. Hello everyone, My name is Jodie and I was banded on September 17, 2004............. wooohooooo its been 13 days officially since my surgery!!!! I am doing great, getting stronger day by day........ My port site still bothers me some, but its improving everyday. I have lost 13 pounds already, YIKES....... so excited. Been walking everyday, and up to 1 1/2 miles. Not a speed demon yet, but I am out there. I have the swedish band and went to Monterrey to have it done with Dr. Rodriguez. He was great and a great bedside manner.......... I am a nurse, so this was remarkable for me! I am a little afraid to go back to work because of all the lifting.......... any other nurses out there? How long did it take you before you get lift safely? I hope everyone is doing great and keep up the good work everyone!!!!!! I would love to receive some emails........ so feel free to contact me. Take care all and hugzzzz Jodie 280/267
