Joyfulone1 got a reaction from Michellefaina in Really?
I've been bouncing back between 190-192 for 2 weeks. Last night I was PMSing and decided to have some red wine. 4 ozs led to 8ozs which led to dark chocolate and Peanut Butter which led to tortilla chips which led to candied pecans!!!!! A mini binge yes, seeing as though they weren't large quantities, but a binge no less. I woke up this morning at 188!!!! So is this how you break a stall? Break all the rules and go nuts for a day??? Btw I'm almost 4 months out and as if today down 50 lbs!!

Weighed in this morning at 198!!!!!! Finally made it to onderland and it's an awesome feeling. On my way to a normal weight!!!! I actually increased my calories from around 620 to a little over 800 and lost 2 lbs in 2 days. So do I stay at 800 or go back closer to 600. I'm 9 weeks out. Any suggestions?????

Awww, thanks Kathy, that is so sweet and much appreciated. Heather, I agree, I really can't do beer or sodas, the carbonation does not agree with my sleeve at all.

Joyfulone1 got a reaction from LilMissDiva Irene in Is It The Infamous 3 Week Stall Or Is It 3 Weeks Of Stalling?
I'm 3 weeks out today and during my 2nd week I gained 3 lbs. I got so upset and hysterical that I decided to weigh myself only once per month! We all want the weight to disappear over night and that's just not going to happen. I feel amazing and my clothes are beginning to hang so I know I'm losing. I can't let the scale dictate my mood! I go for my one month check up on Feb. 9 and will find out how much I lost. Keep your head up, keep following the plan and it will drop off before you know it!

My doctor didn't advise me to eat dill pickles, but they've always been a go-to snack for me when I'm trying to lose weight because they're only about 10 calories, they're crunchy, and they're salty. Perfect for me.

Thanks for the replies. I can work harder at reassuring her and doing more to show it. Also I never try to coach her or say anything about her weight, I don’t think about it cause it doesn’t bother me and she was there through my tough times. I only agree to whatever help she requests from me. ( I hide my sweet treats in different places and eat them when she isn’t near ). The counseling sounds like a really good idea just have to find a way to present it without it coming across the wrong way.
Your all making great progress in your journey! Keep up the work and you will surpass your goals. The paradigm shift from trying to lose to trying to keeping it on has been an interesting one.

I'm 5 months out from WLS, and I miss my diet caffeine free soda so bad. I haven't had a drop of anything carbonated. Has anyone tried soda and how far out were you from surgery? I don't want to continue drinking carbonated drinks but sure could use a sip or two once in a while. This applies to beer and champagne too.... I used to love anything fizzy to drink!

Joyfulone1 reacted to lsereno in "low" Bmi--Are You Likely To Loose Too Much Weight?
I'm 5'6" and weighed 222 the day before surgery. I'm just a few pounds from goal and weight loss is slowing for me. I think it will be fairly easy to add enough calories to do maintenance. It's just going to take a little adjustment here and there. I hope to add enough calories from healthy foods that I've avoided, such as Peanut Butter, avocado, olive oil, and nuts. I'm looking forward to having a little more of these treats along with a couple more "bad" Snacks a week. For example, this week I had a Mai Tai. I'm trying to keep that as my only splurge so I can lose the last few pounds. After I get to goal, I might have two Mai Tais a week and dessert or popcorn once a week too. Woo-hoo!
And I'm really looking forward to adding avocado to my lunch or a little Parmesan to dinner and using a little extra basil olive oil when cooking my veggies!
For myself, I'm more worried about getting lax and tilting back to the too many calories side of the equation.

How long before you guys did popcorn? ??
Popcorn is/was my favorite "snack" and although I know I can't have it tomorrow I kind of feel like it is something to look forward to in the future.
