Blab To Everyone, Or "close To The Vest?"
To know about my operation is a priviledge I grant to those I deem worthy. I am under no obligation to tell. I run my own mouth and my own life and form my own self image which, by the way, in no way hinges on anyone's opinion but mine and God's. I did my research, said my prayers, and took my chances. It turned out good. If someone expresses opposition to how I lost weight they can expect my respectful attention but they need not expect me to express shame. There is no shame. I am proud of my decisive action and for taking responsibility for my life.

Feeling Really Down
Yes, crying causes headaches. I found that out at the end of Titanic when the old lady threw the diamond into the sea. Noooooo...! That's why us guys hate to cry. It's not because we're tough, we hate pain.

Feeling Really Down
Eating is like a lover, easily accessible and faithful to temporarily fill your emotional hunger. Now you have gone to divorce court, you could no longer live with the devastation the relationship was causing to your health and life. Grief is inevitable like it is for any relationship. People seldom divorce without missing at least a little what they had before, especially when they see others enjoying their relationships. I can tell you that you will find new loves. This time your new food relationship will not be destructive but beneficial. Food will not smother you with quantity but you will enjoy it as it meets your physical needs. Your emotional needs will be met in other pursuits, ones that were overlooked and stifled by food obsession. After an initial period of re-education, food will be less and less on your mind. You will be free to explore yourself and the world around you and joy will spring up. I can understand what you are going through. My TV was set firmly on the Food Channel 24/7 both before and for weeks after my sleeving. Eventually it lost its appeal and my mind turned to God, family, friends, and fun. When my new formerly buried body surfaced, exercise became a passion as the anchor of weight was cut away. Moving my body around became fun again and I looked for reasons to do it. I think some lyrics from the George Harrison song work well with us WLS people: Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here Here comes the sun Here comes the sun, and I say It's all right Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here Here comes the sun Here comes the sun, and I say It's all right Sun, sun, sun, here it comes Sun, sun, sun, here it comes Sun, sun, sun, here it comes Sun, sun, sun, here it comes Sun, sun, sun, here it comes Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear Here comes the sun Here comes the sun, and I say It's all right

Almost 6 Weeks Out, Still Can't Sleep
Melatonin does indeed give you livid dreams. I just got used to them. I haven't had what I call nightmares in a long time, at least while asleep. Those occur during my waking hours as my wife forces me to watch Dancing With the Stars.

Almost 6 Weeks Out, Still Can't Sleep
Melatonin helped me. I worked 2 jobs, 3rd and 1rst full shifts and was coming apart because I got no sleep in the little window left. Melatonin saved me. Here is a good article on its proper use and benefits: http://www.talkabout...n-correctly.htm note: make sure your bedroom is dark!

Is This Condidered Exercise ?
I think you are most definitely on the right track. That much activity plus the workouts will pay off for you. I lose weight just going to theme parks and walking around. Your day is much more intense. I would be concerned about how much rest you get. Are you sleeping well and long enough? Adequate rest is a factor that is overlooked in weight loss many times.

Lifted Too Much Weight
I am 8 months out and still feel a pull and general weakness from my abdomen area when I stress it. I can only do on the knees push ups because on the toes push ups hurt too much.

Heavy Legs
I could be that your legs are in one of those "first to grow, last to go" spots. Mine is my lower belly.

Had My Sleep Study Last Night...
My sleep study was conducted shortly after I had pneumonia and I was forced sleep on my back which I never do and I kept waking up. For these reasons I think my sleep study was flawed as they came up with a severe status for me. Nonetheless, I used the C-pap machine for years until my sleeve weight loss rendered it unneeded.

Just How Much Is Everyone Exercising?
That doesn't go along with losing inches. If you are storing it, it would show up on inches. Muscle takes up less space than fat. You have rejected the idea that muscle build up is the cause of your scale being displeasing to you. I contend your weight loss is great and muscle build up is the cause of the numbers on the scale. Scale numbers mean nothing, health means everything. I advise eat healthy, Protein first, lots of Water. The bags is not a bad idea.

Just How Much Is Everyone Exercising?
To the browsers that are contemplating surgery and reading this thread: Whether you get the surgery or "take the easy way out" and lose it by conventional diets you can see by the posts that exercise becomes a great deal of fun after the weight comes off. My problem is doing too much and needing an afternoon nap because of it. Running itself is a joy, a flashback to childhood when I ran everywhere. 100 pounds took that away and fear of blowing the knees. Lifting weights is a passion, quite addictive. I guess it's better to have to force yourself be moderate in healthy activities than bankrupting buffets.

Droopy Inner Thighs.... :-(
That is one of those things that you don't want to hear but know it's the truth. We'd rather believe that the body somehow absorbs the excess skin or it just gets smaller because it can. No science that I know of says such a thing, wish I was wrong. If you build up your thighs to massive proportions you can fill up some of the space. Or, like me, just realize that you can't always get what you want but if you try sometimes well you might find you get what you need

I Really Hate Those Interdry Ads!
I don't run adblock because I am fascinated at how the ads pick up on the very thing I've been searching for on the web. Obviously someone is monitoring my searches and the ads show up accordingly. Oh, yeah, I don't mean I've been searching for belly pads. Really,... I haven't.

I Really Hate Those Interdry Ads!
Thought the same think, Rootman. I must admit though, this ad is much more distracting. That elbow is a subliminal along with the open jeans. They gotta make bucks, though, I don't begrudge them that. This forum has meant a great deal to many people.

Frustrated And Needing Motivation!
What the previous posters said. I used to go to the gym. I also made my inability to get there as an excuse to quit exercising. You may be different, that was me. Now all of my exercise is home based. I use kettle bells, a bodyblade, push-up handles, but the rest is just calisthenics. I only go out to exercise when I walk or bike in the neighborhood. I am getting in the best shape of my life. No more excuses.
