  1. Thanks guys--hope it helps those just starting and those exploring options!!!
  2. 139 lbs, 5'7 (slouching) is the current number. 188 was at surgery. Barely qualified. Ate like a pig the last few weeks to make sure I made weight. I have not worked out yet. Just yard work and walking. First three months after surgery I over ate all the time. It was hard to break that habit. Was punished a lot by sleeve. It is just now that I am use to eating just a little, and don't try to stuff more in. Weight is really falling off the last few weeks because of this. Have had two big stalls, about two weeks each time, but did not sweat them, knew they would break. I occasionally have a glass or two of wine, and I drink two shots of espresso with steamed whole milk froth everyday. Water---no sodas-ever, and unsweet tea most of the time. Chicken sits like a rock, actually hurts my stomach. I had filet today from Ruth Chris, and it was fine. In general I don't like meat. I am so thankful that I got surgery early. I think it has been easier because of it. I know I would not have lost the weight on my own. I am much healthier now and feel very good about myself. I still snore, but I think apnea is better. My only concern is that I start leveling off in the 120's. I have been in the 110's and I look super skinny at that weight, so I don't want to go there. If you are a light weight, low bmi and wonder if surgery is for you, I hope my story and journey helps. I has been easy and soooo worth it.

    Itching

Hi--I itch, especially when I get in the sun. I have read that a vitamin B deficiency will cause this, so I am planning on a B-12 shot since it is quickest and most effective. I know I am not getting my needed vitamins. It is a weird prickly itch.
  4. I am exactly where you are!!! Matter of fact, I was looking for a post like this to see if there are others out there that feel this way too. I just ate one small taco al carbon an I feel so sick to my stomach. A pain like my stomach is real upset. It is this way with all meat, fish chicken... The only food that doesnt hurt is carbs. It will hurt for about 30-40 minutes until it has been digested. An incentive not to eat... but I find myself nibbling on the bad stuff. Still losing weight, just can't eat meat. I am not worried though, the pain goes away, and I tolerate other food fine.
  5. same as old , but taken to new levels--with all the money saved from not eating out---Ebay!!!

    Insides Feel Weird

lying on your left side is normally uncomfortable for about 4-5 weeks. It gets better all the time. It is the staple line side of yoyr stomach. Things are shifting too because of the new void.
  7. I do-- send me your address.
  8. I stall every 15lbs lost. No matter how long it takes to lose that 15, it just stops there for about 10-12 days. I have stopped weighing every day to just once wwk. I need to focus on the positive of trying to get good protein, but i'll take bad if i have to, and some days my sleeve wants to be nothing but bad where only crap goes down well. Good thing it is only small amounts of crap.
  9. i was right at 30bmi at surgery. 187lbs to be exact. I am 155lbs at two and half months out. I am 5'7, and am shooting for 135lbs. I figure the last twenty will be slow, but I have six months of the "honeymoon" period left to lose it. That should not be too hard. BUT my husband is concerned about me stopping because so far the weight has been falling off without much effort.
  10. I've been "loose" ever since surgery. Not crampy, just runny. Does not matter what I eat. I think it is all that excess acid. I am getting use to it, and trying to stay hydrated. It helps a little when I get some solid protein in, but it is a small improvement. I too hope it goes away, but I am starting my third month, and so far it has been a problem.
  11. Get use to no energy-sorry to say.2 months out and napping daily, new bed time is 9:00 pm. Just saying.Hopefully you'll be diff. but prepare for the worse.
  12. 161lbs today, minus 27lbs. start weight was 188. have not seen 150ish in years. will be there by xmas. what a great present!!! goal weight 128lbs.
  13. I will be 30+ pounds down at Christmas and I can guarantee you my sil and brother won't say a thing. Mind you that this the same two who said NOTHING to me after i had a total hysterectomy, remodeled a one story house to two stories, and walked in to my new house and did not utter a word. I know what their problem is...and it is eating them up from the inside out. Yours are probably suffering from the same thing. Jealousy and envy.
  14. I have just come off of restricted foods, and tryin to figure out portion size is really hard. I can't eat more than two, maybe three bites of anything without getting that gross foamy spit up. Every time this happens. There is no way I can get my protein in. I keep going back to cream of wheat and smoothies-which I can get some of my protein. But I read about everyone eating all of this normal food but in small amounts, and that is just not happening right now. Has anyone else been slow to heal and at 6 weeks still can't stomach solids?
  15. My sleeve loves Holiday Ham. My sleeve hates eggs. My sleeve loves cream of wheat. My sleeve hates pancakes.
