  1. I was sleeved on Nov. 1st, and it is standard per my surgeon for a 2-night stay in the hospital. I got a letter this weekend from United Health Care, stating that they are denying coverage for 11/2 on in the hospital. The letter states that the second night's stay was not medically necessary since I did not have a fever, complications, bleeding etc. etc. Has anyone else experienced this and how did you resolve it?? I certainly cannot afford a whole day and night's hospital bill, that's for sure! Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
  2. I second that emotion! I was sleeved on November 1st, and really had no intentions of never drinking again. I enjoy my wine, and my occasional bloody mary! I am allowed to drink alcohol 1 month out, but I do think I will just wait until Christmas Eve until I have that first glass of wine, boy am I looking forward to it! I do hope my sleeve will tolerate a little vino!
  3. I was sleeved on Tuesday and Wed. night in the hospital I developed a whopping headache, almost unbearable. I don't think it could be dehydration since I was still on iv liquids when it started. I am home since yesterday and nothing has relieved it! Anyone else have this problem and have a solution? I can handle the abdomen pain, if I just could get rid of this ridiculous headache!
  4. I am also scheduled to get sleeved tomorrow! I don't have my arrival time yet. I am here in NJ and we don't have power after that crazy storm. I will say a prayer for you....please everyone say a prayer that I don't get pushed back due to all this crazy weather!!
  5. It is done so that they can see if you a bacteria called H. Pylori in your stomach. If so then they must treat you with antibiotics pre-surgery. Also will show if you have a hiatal hernia, and just generally get a look at your stomach and make everything is ok before surgery.
  6. easiest thing ever.....you do not feel a thing or know anything going on. Then, you feel all nice and cozy from the anesthesia for the rest of the day!
  7. I put a little splenda in with the vanilla mix I use (Designer Whey), then a whole lot of pumpkin pie spice and cinnamon. I love that flavor and it makes me feel like I am having a pumpkin pie shake. And after surgery I plan on actually putting pumpkin in as well!
  8. Hey You! Congratulations!!
  9. You are truly an inspiration. I am scheduled for Nov. 1st, and reading this really lifts my spirits!
  10. Was reading this thread, and noticed Pure Protein. If you have Trader Joes around you, they have it there. It is yummy, my favorite ready made shake by far.
