  2. Happy 38th Birthday poohlvr!

  3. I have now gained 17 lbs since being pregnant and am 37 weeks and 5 days. They are going to induce the baby on Monday! Woohoo! I am anxious to see how much weight comes off. I was never completed filled to my "sweet spot." In fact, I had only had my very first fill before I got pregnant. My dr will do a fill a week after baby is born, unfortunately, I can't afford it right away. They don't bill my insurance and charge $300 each time. Too pricey for me right after a baby. Only $125 for a fill without X-ray. Anyhow, I am excited about not gaining so much and still having my band afterwards. I am just worried that I stretched out my pouch and get in trouble with the dr. when I do go in for a fill. Has anyone breastfed and still gone in for fills? Did it hinder your milk supply at all?
  4. I am 30 1/2 weeks and have still lost the one lb. I got back to the OB tomorrow for my two week check up so we will see. I did find out Monday that I have gestantional diabetes and that it is rather high. That sugary syrup drink was horrible. I can't eat that much sugar in one sitting, so I am not too concerned about it. But, this means testing my blood sugar four times a day again. Yuck! I have really bad baby blues too - does anyone else? I intend on talking to the dr about it as well. My Ob will tie my tubes 4 weeks after baby too and my lap band dr will give me a fill one week after baby! That is something to look forward to, I think! I have been so bad with eating breads and pastas, that I am going to have to reteach myself the bandster ways!
  5. I am 26 weeks pregnant and still have a loss of a pound since my "yes you are pregnant", doctors appointment. I feel so horrible being pregnant, I was three months out of surgery and had just gotten my very first fill three days before the big discovery. Does anyone else feel horrible about it? I am happy that my husband and I are expecting again, just wasn't ready to have a baby so soon after the surgery. I am also afraid of stretching out my band, there are days I feel that I can eat everything. I still get stuck, and full. But, I can eat bread, tortillas and all the stuff I am not supposed to be able to. I am bad about drinking with my meals too. Anyone hear about stretching out the band during pregnancy? I am sitting here in tears looking at how well everyone else is doing, from the same time I was banded, thinking - that could have been me too. Anyone else have the blues?:w00t:

    House fire last night....

Eileen, I hope that you will be able to eat normally again. I often hear that when people are stressed, they can't eat. Have you tried mushies or liquids?

    House fire last night....

Wow, thank God you are all alright! You are still newly banded, so you really need to take the time for yourself too. I couldn't imagine my house catching on fire. My prayers are with you and your family!

    Updated September Bandsters!

NM Sundshine - I am not sure what the VG stands for...sorry I am not that educated with it. I was just trying to point out that there are several different types with different fill levels. Sorry I couldn't answer you question!

    Updated September Bandsters!

It depends on what size band you have too NM Sunshine - if you have the VG band then you have a 10cc band and then there is the "average" band at it only holds 4ccs - each dr uses different ones!

    What are you eating?

Mandi - each morning I have an 8oz protein shake - with 30 grams of protein. Lunch - today I had 4 1/2 oz of lean turkey meat and 1 1/2 oz of green beans. Dinner tonight will be chili - about 6 oz of it. Every day is different, are you getting in your water, vitamins and veggies? Make sure to eat protein first too. Weightloss will slow down until your first fill too, maybe even after your second fill even - be patient, it will come soon!

    Updated September Bandsters!

I too am very hungry all the time. I still am trying my best to eat 4-6 oz at every meal and eat my protein first, and all that good stuff. I go back and forth between a couple pounds. I am still at a 20 lb loss as of this morning and even though I was told not to go to fast, I started working out again yesterday morning. I feel great, no pain or discomfort. I am doing the Leslie Sansome - walk away the pounds dvd's, so you know they aren't "too" hard. It is walking with a little arms, kicks, and knee lifts. I feel wonderful and hope that helps me lose more weight. I don't get filled until December 20, I HAVE to do this on my own for now and am scared to stretch my pouch out too!
