Looking for a PT
Hey there! Anyone know of a good, NOT TOO EXPENSIVE (i know that will be a tough one) personal trainer in the naperville/aurora area of Illinois? I have already lost 89lbs but its slow going because i excersize on and off...part of my excuses were because i work FT and had school part time, but now I graduate in June (have one more paper to write) and have no more excuses...so i am looking for someone to help motivate me and keep me on track and hold me accountable...Any names??? Thanks a bunch! Lana

Sushi Post-band
I love sushi, i am one year out and can't eat it, I tried it right after banding and thought i was fine, took it slow, small pieces and everything...didn't sit well...then i realized after a few months, that rice is not my friend...I have no probs with sashimi, but no can do cuz of the rice, but totally worth missing out on sushi to be thinner...good luck to you!

Birth Control Pills. Need some feedback
hello, I have been on orth-try cyclen regular (generic version called tri-nessa is what i actually take) for over 5 years. I stopped it before my surgery and then started it again 2 months after...i didn't have any problems with it. But the reason i go with the generic is because it makes me less nauseous then the actual stuff. But my OBGYN and surgery doc find it strange, since they are the same chemicals...but that is just the fact. So i would try the regular stuff see how you feel then maybe try the generic stuff and compare the two...That is my experience, i hope that helps... Have a nice holiday....

Shoulder Pain
Hello, I too have been having a lot of shoulder pain, almost daily since surgery. I asked my doc about it last night and he asked if i had other symptoms, i said no, so he suggested we could take look under florospocy, but i said i will wait it out...but yeah, it comes and goes with no rhyme or reason, although mostly when i am hungery...It is annoying!!!!

Heparin Shots
I had my surgery on 05/10 and my doc also has me on heprin for 10 days. I asked if i can stop they told me no. I also have bruises and am running out of places to inject the stuff and what was once a painful necessary task is now turning to be very sore and hard to stick myself. My mom who had the same doc, stopped doing them on her second week of them and was fine. I guess you either have to decide better safe then sorry? But I am glad to hear that i am not the only one experienceing these stupid things...LOL

Several questions, about fills etc.
HI, I am not sure about the fills question, but I am in Illinois and am using Dr. Rosen, also in Downers Grove. His office is called LifeWeigh Bariatrics. My mom also used him...He is very nice and so is everyone in his office. They even have a kinda "celebrity" working with them...lol. My surgery is on the 10th of this month...getting nervous...Good luck on choosing the right doc.

Cuz i requested time off of work and have been on the pre-op diet since tuesday...i am worried that they will cancel it or something...maybe it will go away by thursday...

going crazy pre op?
I don't know how i am going to do it, especially at work. Everyone is always ordering out... BUt good for you for sticken to your plan...makes me wonder why we can't stick to a plan when their isn't surgery to motivate. Why can't just being healthy be the motivation. Obviously these are answers that i don't have and have not been able to lose weight any other way and god knows i have tried...oh, by the way, are you not allowed to drink broths? My doc, is letting me drink broth with the protien added to it as well as the shakes and anything else that is liquid that i can add the powder to.

going crazy pre op?
This is my first post. I am scheduled to have surgery on 05/10. I have been having the same issues, with wanting to go to places that I don't think i would enjoy after the surgery. My doctor and his team puts everyone on a 30 day practice diet and excersise plan prior to the pre-op appt. This has helped me focus on how to eat when after i am banded. I have had my slips ups like the chinese buffet maybe twice, but everything i eat and drink and excerise must be logged and if the team doesn't approve of my efforts well then the surgery gets postponed. Now i am waiting for May 1 when i start the pre-op liquid diet and am a little nervous about that, but my thoughts are of having a successful surgery so i guess i have no choice. I have some supportive friends and co-workers who are going to do the liquid diet with me.
