  1. I had struggled with my weight. Been on every diet. I have a BMI of 32. I am honestly frightened to death to have this surgery. After reading all the complications. Although it seems that people are fairly happy with weight loss and would do it again. My goodness some of the stories. Hair loss, depression, acid problems, vomiting. And the list goes on and then includes research about grenlin related to sleep, internal furnace and memory and who knows what else grenlin effects. No long term studies. I have had my blood work done and scheduled my nut and Phyc appts. But I am thinking that I should just try one last attempt at loosing this 60lbs by eating 120 grams of protien 3 times a day with vegetables and fruit. Exchange cheese and eggs short of a plan, I know this is hard for me. I have tried to loose weight before but, always manage to gain in back! Like the rest of us. I don't know what to do. But think I should give it one last try so, I have no regrets! I lost my dad to diabetes and my mom was like a very big women too. I feel so alone in all of this too. I live in Canada. Hardly anyone here has even heard of this. If I had complication the on call doctors would be at a loss as what to do with me. Considering Dr.Landerholm who has done a lot of these and even has a after care program in place. His office is about 30 min away as we live close to the boarder. thanks for your thoughts.
  2. This is crazy, I know but when I was around 26 I had already had two children and got very close to goal weight (not that I kept it off mind you) but I decided that I was going to get a tummy tuck and lipo. I went to a great Surgeon and was thrilled with the results. Fast forward 10 years and guess what? We are having a third child. I was thinking that I would End up with the worst stretch marks. But I didn't get a single one and my tummy is still tight and hard. Weird I know. Would have never guessed that one. I did gain 70lbs after the third pregnancy and have fought my weight but my tummy is stll great. The only problem is that if you do gain weight after tt or lipo it will come back in a different part of your body. Too bad doctors don't tell people that. Anyways, having said that I have stretchy skin. Never have had a stretch mark. Some people gat them some people dont. Keep researching and looking into what's best for you. It sounds like your on the right track. Best wishes
  3. It's all I am thinking about too! I went and had my EKG today, will have my Phyc and nutrition on the 14th, having blood work Done tomorrow so I am fasting right now. I just read about a lady vomiting for a long time post op. Yikes. My heart goes out. Having my surgery at Pudget Sound surgical center.
