  1. Hi Bobbie I am going to see Lauren Stephens (dietitian) next week - she is based at Peninsula Private Hospital in Frankston. I had to make my appointment through my doctor at Peninsula Surgical Group but I'm sure if you contact the hospital directly they should be able to put you in touch with her. I hope this helps. Good luck. Heidi
  2. I was banded 5 1/2 yrs ago and after about 6 weeks rolled over in bed one morning and had excruciating pain in my rigt side. This went on for one week (could hardly stand up straight ) until my surgeon did xray and found out that the port had disconnected due to faulty product. He didn't charge any out of pocket for new surgery but i insisted he give me detsils of the product supplier. After nearly 1 year of chasing them up they reimbursed me $850 for my hospital excess, x rays etc. Just make sure you follow through and you never know. By the way my surgeon didn't really want me to contact them (maybe was his fault?) but he wasn't the one footing the bills. Good luck Heidi
  3. No idea if you are having same problem as me - but worth looking into. I have been having episodes of pain at my port site for years now. About 18 months ago had gall bladder removed but pain continued. After ultrasound of abdominal wall they have finally discovered a hernia in abdo wall as a result of incision. Apparently very rare but am booked in for surgery to repair the tear in May. Hopefully the pain will finally be gone for good. Good luck and I hope you get to the bottom of your pain. Heidi
