  1. 50#'s lost!!! Can't take a picture though cuz my iPhone ended up roadkill after I forgot it on the roof of the car!!! I wonder if how much brain cells weigh cuz I seem to get foggier with every lost pound!

  3. I had my surgery June 24. I have lost 25 pounds since surgery and 41 pounds altogether. I'm hoping to get cleared for exercise tomorrow at my six-week postop appointment. I'm so excited for all of us!!!
  4. Sooooo, we're in the process of moving and I've been sorting what goes and what doesn't and there are a bunch of size 24 pants that are going to charity!!! Fit into a size 22 that's been lying in my drawer for almost a year. They're still a bit big but a girls gotta cover her butt, right!!! #NonScaleVictory

Where are all my NYC people

I found this and thought maybe someone here might be interested! http://www.meetup.com/New-York-Bariatric-Weight-Loss-Support-Group/
  6. I'm going to try ALL of these as soon as I can eat solids & fruits..... Anyone already tried them? If so, are they any good?
  7. I'm freaking out! I can't get in all my Protein or all of my calories. I'm not cleared for exercise, but I clean my house and take the kids to the park and keep moving. Still, for a few days now I've been gaining weight! My lowest since surgery was 237 and now I'm back up to 243! :angry:HOW?!?!?!?!
  8. Still stalled, still low on Protein.... The Vitamin shoppe around me didn't have unjury and I'm wary of spending lots of money on something I may not tolerate... I'm trying to eat lots of fish since it's high in protein and I can 'fit' more in than chicken or other kinds of protein... yesterday I got in 52g which is pretty close to my daily goal.
  9. I have noticed the hiccups! So annoying! But Good to know that's what they mean!

    3wk post op hunger

The sticky/pinned thread labeled FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS addresses this under "Why am I always hungry?".... The whole thread is full of useful info BTW....

    3wk post op hunger

Acid! It makes the growling noises like hunger. Take some Pepcid it helps. I take 20mg 2x/day.
  12. Thanks for the tips.... I'm still stalled but I'm going to vitamin shoppe today and see if they have Unjury or something with more protein that more palatable than what I got right now....
  13. When does it go away? it's driving me insane!!! Worse than the incision pain or the acid (close 2nd BTW), this gas is unbearable! I'm taking like 4 gasX pills a day and walking around my apartment and outside. Even doing light chores like sweeping and moping! I can't sip too much water and it's HOT so I'm avoiding too much outside walking. What else can I do to get rid of this gas. I'm so done with it!!!
  14. I'm not due for my cycle, luckily. What I'm eating are mushies. Pureed chicken, fish, turkey... Hummus, yogurt, Laughing Cow cheese wedges. All high protein, low carb stuff that's on my nut list.... It seems no matter how much I get in it doesn't make a full 60g of protein and my water intake could be better... ok way better...
  15. Wish I saw this before I posted that new topic!
  16. Damn... I gotta get my butt moving! LOL.... I'm not doing any purposeful walking. That said I run errands and take my kids to the park and stuff. I think I'll start walking on a schedule and start on right like you guys!

    June 25th sleevers

*GASP* That could soooo be it! I was lactose intolerant pre op but because I've yet to find an Organic Lactaid I just dealt with the bathroom runs..... But it makes sense & I never thought to think the lactose affects my body different now....! I will try my children's Almond Milk. They are lactose intolerant as well & since they've been drinking the stuff since I stopped nursing them they actually really like it. I'll see how it goes, thanks! Right now I'm having some white fish I sauteed and mixed with .5oz of yogurt for lunch. So far so good and surprisingly tasty after seasoning it well.

    June 25th sleevers

What is everyone mixing their Protein shakes with? I can't get down my pre op Protein shake. It's Gold Standard, I mix it with skim milk and 3 sips make me nauseous! It's 25 very much needed grams of protein! I just can't get all this protein down!!! I did it one day, but I was literally putting something in my mouth all day long and It's exhausting for my sleeve.... I hate to keep whining like this, but almost everything makes me feel weird or downright nauseous.... Today I had 1oz of plain fat free yogurt with 1tsp of honey (1/3 of the tbs serving) and the honey apparently was a mistake cuz made me feel sick.... then I get up and I'm sooooooo dizzy I feel my body needs nourishment so I made the shake and 3 sips later I'm fighting a trip to the toilet.... Does anyone else feel this way still? I was sleeved 6/24/13 & I feel like by now I should have a better handle on things, but 1 good day doesn't mean the next will be the same. My sleeve capacity changes on a whim from moment to moment.... I just don't get it.
  19. Yup me too, I've been putting on cold compresses on it since I was scared of putting any benadryl gel on it... & swallowing pills is really difficult for me now.
  20. My dr says to add the powdered protein as well. I gotta say I didn't like it.... But someone else might like it though...
  21. It almost seems impossible to believe today that I had surgery to remove 85% of my stomach. In order to reach my protein goal (which, I did 71g!) it seemed like there was always something going in my mouth! Not sure I ever ate this good pre-surgery & I still have 187 calories out of my 800 remaining. May everyday be as good nutritionally for me as today!

  22. I'm 10 days out and since I don't really like leaving things to chance I count. I use myfitnesspal app and keep track of Calories, Protein, Carbs & Fiber. I take a glance at Fat but since I'm following an Atkins like diet until maintenance I'm not stressing it. I'm soooooo scared I won't succeed. I keep hearing stories of people who are 1 or 2 years out and have lost only 30 or 50 lbs (mostly on Facebook groups). I don't really know their situation, but I can't help but feel like they probably just didn't grab the bull by the horns. So my plan is to work my butt off both in diet and exercise & let my sleeve help me the most toward the end when those last lbs are the hardest and maintenance since I've never had a problem losing in the past just keeping it off. We'll see if my plan works, of course, but I just can't trust myself to wing it. Edit to add: Not really sure how many cals I should really be consuming. My personal limit is 800 but I've yet to reach it. Today my main goal is getting my full 60g of protein so I might reach it or go over. We'll see.

    Just annoyed

Speak with your Dr. of course but on my paperwork it says "no strenuous physical activity, exercise or sex until the 1 month post op visit or until cleared by surgeon" Those are the exact words...
  24. I'm 10 days post op too and just had my drs appt yesterday... She said forget about the protein powder for now and sold me the clinic's stuff from Bariwise. I thought it lame before since I didn't want to get swindled, but it was for the best. Today I had the Amaretto Hot Chocolate. YUMMMMMMY! 15g of protein & goes down easy since it's hot. The drinks I freeze them in 4oz cups since it's so hot here. 15g in whole 8oz so 7.5g in my 4oz pops. Flavor is decent & much better when frozen. Tried the cream of chicken, but it's gross. 2 out 3 so i'm not complaining. Going to order it from my dr office from now on since it's the same price as website & no shipping... not the cheapest stuff on earth but I figure it's only until I can consume more protein.
