    Staying Hydrated

I was sleeved on April 18th. My FAVORITE drink of choice is ice cold WATER. i felt very thirsty after surgery and was told that it takes a while for our bodies to replinish the fluids we need. So sip, sip, sip. I do not like any of the sugar free drinks. I finally found something that works for me. I wanted to chug water so badly because my mouth felt like it had cotton in it. My solution is CRUSHED ICE...... If you have a Sonic near you, they have these small ice chips, I get a large cup of crushed ice and eat on it all day long. It keeps me satisfied. Hope this helps!
  2. OMG! I thought the question was-- Did they save your stomach??? I need to put my glasses back on!!!
  3. I was sleeved on the 18th too. Can't believe a week is here. Had trouble with pain meds and knew that going in. I was hitting my pain pump with no help from neasuea meds. Gave up on pain meds for the day and night, and the next morning had a great nurse. Started on a combination of hycet and phenegran. Walked the halls a few times. I was OUT OF IT all of monday. Came home on tuesday evening. Stayed on meds for a few days. Walking up and down my long driveway - a total of about 18 minutes a day. Tolerating all liquids. Can not stand sugar free anything. I am a Water drinker, and that is what I enjoy the most. My shake supplements are good and the protien powders added to my strained Soups are great. Anyone else bruised black and blue on top and bottom of navel??? What is that about???? Glad to hear everyone has made it this far with little problems.
  4. My surgery is scheduled for April 18th. In Baton Rouge, LA Let's keep in touch. I need all the encouraging and support I can get. I am nervous. Never been put under. My doctor does not have me on a pre op diet. I have been eating some of my favorite foods now before my surgery just to get it out of my system. Here in LA we have awesome food. I also come from a big italian family where food is the center of everything! So hard to resist, but I have come this far to do this WLS surgery and I know it will be worth it. Good luck to all!
