Yeah, I hear you, I was unloading a lot of Fluid too. I always get very diuretic on low carb diets. I will probably lose 20 this week in Water alone, which will make my swollen joints feel better so I can do more when working out.

Today was day 1, & my stomach is a little cranky. A little bit of the runs. Energy is low, and I feel a little shaky. I so wanted to cheat but I think I'm through the worst of it today.
For Breakfast I had a Protein shake made with Water, it was kinda yucky.
For lunch I mixed it with chocolate slim fast, which was much better. Had same for dinner.
    Cals: 740, carbs: 59, fat: 15, protein: 95..
    Water: 70 oz.
I really hope I can keep motivated till sleeve-day.

oh, I forgot the biggest reason - so little kids stop staring at me and saying 'Mom, that guy is so Fat'... that really hurts, and ticks me off. On the one hand I know they're just kids but on the other I feel like their parent should apologize for not teaching them manners...

Sounds to me like he might be a little jealous.. is he at all overweight? If so, maybe he's angry that you're doing something to improve your life while he might not be able to at this moment for some reason, or maybe there's something else about the surgery that makes him angry for some reason - or he's just a jerk and you can do better for friends.

Tomorrow I'm going into the final stretch. I don't have a date set just yet. Last Monday, I had a 2 hour evaluation with the nutritionist, exercise physiologist, and psychologist. From what I understand, I shouldn't have to wait much longer before they set a date - I'm self-pay so money / insurance isn't an issue. Hoping sometime in June, early July at the latest.
I'm 650 pounds, most doctors put patients on a pre-op diet, but mine does not have a pre-op diet per se, but I feel like I will be much more successful if I lose some weight before surgery, and get used to eating smaller amounts of food.
Today- I ate my last fast food / milkshake until I reach goal.
Tomorrow I will be starting my own pre-op liquid diet - basically a glass of Optimum Nutrition for Breakfast, lunch, and a double serving for dinner. sugar free chocolate pudding --on days where I am struggling.
I have started walking around the block once per day, and am hoping to push that up to 3 laps by surgery day as well.
Anyone have any comments or suggestions on this plan? (I'm a big...planner, I have to have everything planned out before I do something.. ) I just think getting in a good routine now will help me succeed better post-surgery.

I was 352 and a chocaholic too. Between the two week pre-op diet and my liquids stage afterwards, I lost ANY love for sweets for months. I now appreciate something sweet on occasion, but it's nowhere near the problem it was before. My biggest obsession these days is cheetos! LOL
You are a strong person to step up and ask for help with your obesity. But, the sleeve will help you to begin losing the weight. Whether you're committed mentally right now or not, you will commit fully once that weight starts dropping off you. I worried that I wouldn't be able to make myself exercise...and now I'm addicted to the gym!
Good luck! I can't wait to see how fast your weight comes off you!!

Of course.. Everyday until I had it. We all were scared. But what got me through was the thought that one day the person I know is on the inside will be on the outside. A better life. Happier. This tool that we have chosen has been the answer to my prayers. Almost 50 pounds down in 6 weeks. And I know it will stay off.

You will have some hoops to jump through, as most of us did. There will be medical tests, insurance documentation, psych eval and othere challenges, but the biggest one will be the pre-op diet. Some of these run 2 weeks, others up to 6 months. The two week pre-op diet is usually an all liquid diet, though some are allowed one sparse meal of real food per day, depending on doctor's orders. The object of the pre-op diet is to shrink you liver so the doctor can get at your stomach without nicking it. It's tough, but not impossible. Most of us had the same doubts, but got through it. The first few days are the worst, then it smoothes out. We all faced challenges during our pre-op diets like birthday parties, holiday feasts, etc, but if you make it through (and you will) you will have demonstrated that level of commitment. After surgery, you can look forward to about 6 weeks of liquids, then mushies, then real food. Here's the neat thing though.....you probably won't be hungry, and you will find that many of the things that led to your weight gain over the years you won't be so attracted to. Couple that with the fact that initially your stomach will only hold about 3 ounces, you will feel full very quickly when you eat. Good luck, and I assure you that you won't regret this decision. We're all here pulling for you. Use this site as a support resource and post whenever you have question.
