  1. I'm so thankful that I'm getting surgery next month - while I'm in great physical shape so that I don't get diabetes @ 650 pounds, and as much sugar as I eat--my pancreas can only hold out for so many years...it's gotta be a matter of time. My wife just found out she was diabetic, so I really feel for your situation. Hope you have great results with the sleeve -and can get off your meds eventually.
  2. Haha @ care less...that's for sure... we could be on fire and still care less.
  3. Hey good luck to the both of you - anxious to see your results!
  4. Great another thing to freak me out about surgery.. Do they knock you out for it?
  5. Visalus is NOT a good option because it is SOY protein which is bad because of something to do with Estrogen - it raises Estrogen levels which can cause weight gain.
  6. The ingredients in Sensa aren't proprietary or anything - ie found in a lot of places. According to WebMD there's no Studies done - the company did a sponsored trial but that doesn't really say anything and those are easily tampered with. Truth be told after being sleeved you won't need any fad stuff like Sensa. I wouldn't waste your money, instead just work on getting a lot of protein in and low calories/carbs. just my humble opinion.
  7. ok...first the lovenol injections freaked me out...but people said it didn't hurt much... But sticking a tube up my junk...This is the first thing making me second guess the surgery it does NOT sound pleasant at all... How does that not hurt coming out? On a pain scale what is it a 10 being: "Nurse, just cut it off I don't want the pain anymore, consider it a souvenir", and a 1 being "eh...nurse I don't think it's out yet.. you can keep playin' with my junk" lmao.
  8. Um.. that's kind of the point.. of sleeve -- to force you into compliance when you still "want" to eat more.. You're early on in this journey, so just take your time and have patience - it'll all be worth it in the end. I'm still pre-op, but I'm totally excited about my surgery and can't wait. I wish you the best of success in your journey!
  9. I'm no expert, but I'm on a liquid diet now - pre-op and I'm eating 800 calories and not really that hungry. The key is to totally cut out sugary foods.. they are a cancer -they make you crave more sweets.andmore....etc.. every time I've tried low-carb I'm never really hungry and sometimes have to force myself to eat.. If all else fails -- go back to the basics try your post-op diet for a couple of weeks- nothing but liquids and Protein. It may help to reset your metabolism, and shrink your appetite.
  10. Awesome! I can't wait to be able just shop @ Walmart, Target.
  11. As the self-appointed unofficial chairman of the July Sleevers, I'd like to welcome you to our party lol - Not to mention I'm a July 2nd'er too!

  18. I'm doing good.. EAS Protein shakes bout make me barf though.. -- and slimfast has too much sugar - gonna finish off the ones I have now @ 1 max per day, and then get skim milk to mix my powder in. Also gonna try unflavored mixed with broth. and I have an
  19. That sucks that your fam isn't that supportive. MY aunt had RNY so we've been through this before.
  20. Well - I'm self-pay so don't want to be out of the money, and not be able to get the surgery - a little anxious about that.. another reason for my self-imposed diet I don't wanna mess this up lol. This is like my only and last chance it feels like. You can do it... just takes some motivation - -make a list of all the things you're fighting for - and look at it daily that is what keeps me going. Yeah agree there, this isn't for life just for a year or two, then can have normal / kid-size amounts of my favorite foods again. Which I'm good with. Yeah, for me it's not that the doctor ordered it but that I ordered it because I want to be as healthy as possible when I hit that operating table. Why put my life on the line when I can help it, or jeapordize the surgery. I mean my doctor probably has reasons why he doesn't do the pre-op, but I can prepare my best for it - plus I'm nervous about being able to do the post-op so if I practice it before hand, when I get there it'll be easier. Also if I can lose 50 pre-op, then another 50 in a month or two post -op, I'll reach my goal of 400s' by my Birthday and that would be AWESOME.
  21. Just add me on Facebook - and I will add you to the group! Thanks, Sure -the more the merrier! Sent
  22. Hey I think it would be cool to have support contacts for when we need it most, and sometimes just chatting through stuff is a good way to get through the anxiety, or whatever. So if anyone wants to add me: GTalk - used the most: patrickwcurl AT gmail.com Yahoo - used 2nd most: patrickwcurl Also feel free to add me on Social Networks: Twitter: @patrickcurl facebook: http://www.facebook.com/patrickwcurl Google+: https://plus.google.com/u/0/105586050508979501654/posts Also let me know if you want to join our super secret Group on Facebook (just send me your email so I can add you!)
  23. Milk is probably fine if you do Skim milk. I currently mix mine with a Slimfast which does have some sugar, but I'm eating under 800 cals a day and under 70 grams of carbs a day.
  24. Another question.. like how big does a liver get, is someone 600 pounds likely to have a much bigger liver than someone 400 pounds? I mean do I need to lose 100 pounds to be operable? My surgeon has worked on ppl upto 800 pounds he says.. And he does not require a Pre-op diet, so maybe he has a method of getting around the liver or something? lol I don't know but - -I'm self-pre-oping because I want everything to run smoothly and I'm a control freak, and obsessive planner - I have to have everything planned out in advance.
