Hi GFG! Sorry, I haven't responded. I think I was having surgery when you first messaged me and somehow missed it. Honestly, I'm usually only looking on my phone right now and there are some limitations in capabilities. Where are you in Texas and when is your sleeve scheduled for? This process has been amazing for me and hope it will be for you, too!

I'm in Mesquite but teach in Dallas ISD. I was approved the day after it was submitted, but found out by calling the TRS BCBS folks. Dr. Barker did my surgery and all seems to be well! Who is doing yours and how soon are you wanting to have it done?

I know!! I start the liquid diet tomorrow, which I think may make it real. You know, it takes so long from when you start until when you have surgery, it's almost surreal. Have my protein and vitamins ready, bought a Magic Bullet today at Kohl's, now just looking up protein shake recipes.

Yes, actually I just found out today that I was approved! Can't believe it, the surgeon's office didn't submit until Wednesday and BCBS approved it on Thursday! Still hoping that the scheduling will work out, but keeping my fingers crossed. I saw that you have a date! You must be so excited! When do you start the pre-op diet?

I'm praying for that! Since I teach, I really don't have the extra time to take off, so the Christmas break works perfectly for me. Just a matter of my surgeon's office being so busy.

Can't wait to hear what you find out! For some reason, I'm not really worried about the liquid diet part, it almost seems as if it's finally, officially starting the program.

That's fabulous, Becca! Are you getting nervous, yet? What have you done so far in the process? I have my EGD on Saturday and my final doctor's visit on Monday. Just worried about the insurance!

Yes, and I am SOOO excited! Now just hoping they can get me in over the holiday!

I'm in Dallas, too. Hoping to sleeve in December, but have to wait on the approval. I'm with Dr. Barker, who are you with?

I had my psych eval on Tuesday--approved, my EGD Saturday, and my final doc visit on Monday. Hopefully, they will get it all submitted to BC/BS the next day---Tuesday the 9th. What about you?

That is wonderful! I need to be as close to Christmas break as possible as I teach. The EGD is at Doctor's.

No, I teach at Skyline. My 15 year old son goes to Mesquite High, though. Which part of Dallas are you from?

Good grief! You decided to have another AFTER you had a teenager? Brave soul! This teenaged thing has nearly killed me!

I'm going back to school on Monday. Kids return on Tuesday. Fortunately, it's a short week. The week following is final exams, so I only have 3 classes that whole next week. How long are you taking off?

I'm good, just don't feel like I have everything ready for tomorrow! Hopefully, I'll get finished cleaning house tonight. Have to be there at 5:30.

How are you doing? Have you gotten your energy back, yet?

Oh gosh! I'm so sorry! What did Barker's office tell you? They should be able to resubmit with the weights from Curves shouldn't they?

I'm glad that you liked him! It gives me confidence in my decision that so many people have used him and are happy! Dr. Thompson told me about his wife---he was fabulous. Don't think I met Kevin, or if I did, I was in such a blur I don't recall! How long are you/did you take off before returning to work?

I'm hoping for the very beginning of our Christmas break---I teach high school---so, around the 20th. That way I'll have a couple of weeks built-in. But, not at that point just yet!

What are you eating for the 3 weeks? Is it all clear liquids? The pureed foods don't sound very appealing. I feel for you having to do that now, but think how great you'll look by Christmas!
