  1. Are you pre or post-op? I don't find much tempting post-op. And if I want to try it I find a couple bites makes me full and it isn't quite the same as it was before.
  2. I like it but its too sweet and has too much caffeine. I can only take it at half dose (and one scoop only has 7-8 grams of protein) in the morning.
  3. Ha ha! I read the topic as "Pre-op Diet Coke" and clicked on it cause I do so love diet coke! Sick.
  4. I've noticed an increase too. And big cystic acne! My skin is drier but I'm lacking in fluids some days.
  5. I too started out with a "low" BMI of about 32. I'm 14 weeks out and as you can see from my ticker I'm close to my goal and now anticipate going under that goal of 140lbs! My surgeon does have a lot of people travel to see him if you are interested in that. I was able to drive there-which made my decision easy about where to go. Good luck!!
  6. Absolutely amazing! You look great! You much feel wonderful too!
  7. So I pulled a package of these outta the freezer and fried one up (instead of 4 like before). I took one bite and couldn't believe it! I hated it! It didn't taste like they used to-it was just greasy cardboard. I didn't eat the rest. In other news: I'm working out regularly so my arms are getting firmer as they get thinner. I fit my jeans I wore in high school but they are horribly out of style so I went to the Gap for new jeans-due to new-fangled vanity sizing I'm a size 8! (silly) I have tons of energy-I can't believe how tiring it is to be fat-and then I was so tired that I ate more "for energy." :-) CHECK OUT MY TICKER!! I started with a relatively low BMI so I'm surprised at how fast I've been losing. I'm nervous about maintaining soon but I'm sure I'll work it out.
  8. I get hungry too. But its not a problem because its gone after 3 bites of protein-avoid sliders, eat protein and it doesn't need to be the monster it once was. I'm hungry now...off to make a good choice and eat a tiny bit.
  9. You look amazing! I'm so happy for you!
  10. I just feel sorry for them. At a starting point of BMI 32 I only know a glimmer of how uncomfortable that it. And that's enough for me. I almost feel guilty that I got WLS surgery and feel so good-I want that for everybody. After only 14 weeks I'm surprised at how much food people eat-just normal weight people.
  11. Actually once you are few weeks out its really easy. I'd forget I was sleeved once and while only to be reminded with tight restriction upon a few bites. I love exercising now because I know I won't go home and eat so much I cancel out the entire workout! Sounds like you are doing great!
  12. My doctor showed me some long-term stats from his patients with a low BMI to close to mine. She only went from 186 to 156 in weight and he said that was probably because he used a larger bougie back then. Now he uses a size 32 which from my experience is fine-I can ea...er u..actually I've never measured....I can suck back slider foods-but don't unless they are protein shakes and get almost immediate tight restriction with the regular protein meals. After the first month I've had no reflux and as you can see from my ticker I'm getting close to goal after only 14 weeks! He didn't ever describe a percentage because I'm sure that's different with everybody.
  13. Wow thanks for that. I haven't watched many VSG youtube videos so that was really neat. You must be really tall to look like that at 182!
  14. No advice-just good company. I'm pretty happy because I only have 11 lbs to go but STILL! I'm not eating much but I'm not limiting carbs so I could work on that. Check out my stair-step loss if you click on my ticker.
  15. If you have a family order the pizza for them because feeding you won't be any trouble at all. A 1/3 cup of cottage cheese and a few slices of peach and you will be as satisfied as you were after 3-4 slices of pizza pre-op.
  16. Congrats! Isn't it so much fun. I'm playing the same game over here!
  17. Wow, I'm really feeling for you. I don't have anymore advise to add to what has already been said here. I'm so glad you are reaching out. I hold hope for you that you will get better-I was sleeved about the same time and feel great. Keep nourishing yourself in everyway you can.
  18. CUTE CUTE CUTE! Being preg is so miserable....AND so WORTH IT!
  19. I've had Zero complications with the sleeve. I feel totally normal until I try to take an extra bite past full and I'm disciplined by my sleeve-even then when I put my fork down I feel OK pretty soon. I try very hard with the protein and the water and the vitamins but at the end of the day I don't get them all in but I'm pleased that whatever I did get in, got absorbed. I was scared about the surgery and recovery too but I just decided to "feel the fear and do it anyway" before I knew it-I was on the other side! Have you been tested for Celiac or just gone on a gluten-free diet for a few days to see if it helps your bowel troubles? I can't even tell you how many people I know diagnosed with IBS have been totally symptom free since giving up gluten/wheat. It's really very easy to avoid and has totally changed my life! PM me if you want to know more.
  20. I just wanted to update this thread. I'm 12 weeks out from surgery yesterday. I haven't felt this good in many years. I never feel weak or shaky. As you see from my ticker I've lost bout 35 lbs (32 on my scale). This is a slower weight loss than people with a higher BMI but I'm already getting close to a normal BMI and I just bought cute jeans at the Gap! I know this is the "honeymoon" phase but I can't imagine gaining weight back because its so so easy to control portions/Kcal with the sleeve. I get hungry but I'm completely full and comfortably satisfied with a few bites of food. Usually I choose high protein foods every few hours-if I eat junk I feel sick and don't do it again. I'm having fun with the C25K program and weight training. Sure the surgery is major but there is no way I'd look and feel this good without it. I have no complications-no reflux at all. I'm 14 lbs away from my original goal of 140-I may go a bit lower.
  21. Just want to jump in and say I've been drinking DC a couple times a week recently-I'm 11 weeks out today. I cannot imagine that those bubbles could really be doing something bad if I just sip. Like you said, I really like diet coke and it's such a nice treat. I know its not good for me. I'd probably be better at not drinking if somebody could actually prove to me I was stretching my sleeve-but I really just don't understand the potential mechanics of that.
  22. Great story. Wish I'd had that kind of pain management here is the states!
  23. Thanks so much for bring this up! I work for myself and have gambled (and won) for the last few years and haven't had health insurance coverage. I didn't think about health insurance much before my surgery but now I'm getting my life in order. I applied for a high deductible health insurance for me and the kids through BCBS and was denied. Naively I thought I'd be able to get it because I weighed 30lbs less! I'll probably just get a high deductible policy for the kids and base my next application on the advice here. This place is great. I'm having NO COMPLICATIONS to I think I'll be just fine.
  24. I haven't told anybody and it is getting a little more difficult to evade the questions. I feel self-conscious for getting the sleeve at such a "low" BMI. I was really only 50lbs overweight but I just couldn't stand those 50lbs anymore! One of my closest friends was irritable with me for eating so much less for the first few weeks and now she seems envious. I really owe it to her to let her know how I was able to do this! I almost wish the weight would come off more slowly so it wouldn't be so striking-almost.
  25. I'm exactly 7 weeks out today and I was going to post almost the same thing! In the last few weeks I've gotten up in the morning and had a poached egg and coffee with milk. Today I just couldn't get myself to have more than a few bites of yogurt. Then 5 hours later I tried to eat some very soft chicken leftover from last night-I could only have a couple bites before I was crazy full. Same thing with supper....this is the day with the LOWEST APPETITE/general ability to eat yet. I've lost 27 lbs so far which is really good because my BMI was only about 32 when I started. But this new low amount of food is shocking-I need more than this! I'm trying to just eat high protein foods, but if I have to stop after a few bites I HAVE TO STOP or I will pay the price! I guess this is what were asking for but WOW.
