    Plantar Fascaitis?

What a pain!!! I had this for years...my Dr. said my weight had little to do with it... he said he had never had a farmer with this condition... nurses, factory workers, teachers...folks on their feet, on concrete, with poor shoes...he recommends walking shoes..good ones~ the best help is exercise...get a 2X6 or a 2X8 about 3 feet long...place the ball of the feet on the edge, raise your self up on your tip toes and count to three, then drop your heels down to the floor and count to three...repeat about 10 times 3 times a day---- it took me about 3 months but I was back to normal ,,,they do surgery for this but I know another teacher in my building who had the surgery and she is still having trouble... I recommend doing the exercise and trying to get back on your feet that way.. it should have no effect on your surgery...it's just tendons and ligaments that are too tight... GOOD LUCK with your feet and surgery..if you work where you cant wear athletic shoes..get your dr to write you a note --- you can not get this to get better wearing dress shoes...that don't offer you good support!

    September sleevers wanted!

I will be a September gal! September 1 is my current target date..Ihave done my first set of med tests..nutrition class Aug 11 and additional tests and scope on the 13th...if all goes welll September 1 is my date!!!! I'm nervous, wondering if I am losing my mind as well as a ton of money! I realistically need to lose 90 lbs... I am diabetic and have health problems...I am sure that if I don't do this the weight and diabeties will kill me..but I am still really nervous...but I am relatively sure I will go through with this......
  9. Lori, Way to go....I am hoping that it will help me. I am so happy for you.. I too am a 4 shot a dayer...I don't mind the shots, I just hate knowing what it is doing to my body...I feel so bad all the time.. and I fluctuate wildly-- I have been as high as 500 and 3 to 4 hrs later been 54.....drives me crazy...and I have tried everything to try to "regulate" myself.. I just can't do it the way I work... If I could eat 6 meals a day I might could do it but with all the traveling I do I can't manage that. I am just so excited and encouraged..thanks for sharing....Best Wishes..Anita
  10. SarahD, I sure hope so... I am so addicted...and I do think you are right it is a head thing... I have my "whitening trays" in right now and am so wanting to just taken them out and get me a Zero...I even have hooked a couple of my friends... they willl freak when I quit..How do you really quit? Cold turkey or just cut down?
  11. I should have read all your replys... St Joes has a morbidity rate of .03 which is way lower than the national average that is between ,4-3.0. I have attended the "workshop" and also attended the workshop at Georgetown several years ago... at the time I just couldn't give up the soda.... I love Coke Zero....I bet I down 3 or 4 a day...I am dreading giving that up... one of the school secretaries here had the RNY and she drinks Diet Coke and I cant believe that...I would be afraid... I have been told about 18 months out you can have a few ounces on rare occasions... I'm thinking if I can go without it that long I will just do without...
  12. Where were you sleved? I am thinking that I am going to st joes..heard lots of good things, but I can't help but be anxious. I know two girls that have had RNY there but after reading I think the sleve is for me. Have you heard anything bad about St Joes?
  13. Possomtrot,

I am a 52 yr old married lady. I have been overweight about 25 years now and have developed so many health related issues. I have read and read, researched, and tried to find out as much as I can. I am going to be a private pay...my state ( teacher) insurance will cover then band and the RNY but not this one... I feel that this is the very best fit for me.. I weigh 234 and am 5.5.... I find that the charts say I should weight about 130----which is 2 lb more than high school LOL! RIGHT I would be thrilled to be 150....I just want rid of my diabetes. They told us that the cost would be between 14 & 15..which I figured would be about the same if we traveled from here...I am an Instructional Supervisor for Harlan County Schools.. and that will be just after school starts back...I will be praying for you travel and surgery.. good luck and please lets keep in touch... I am at albalt@live.com. God Bless You and best wishes.

    Anita

  14. ??? Hey I'm new to this...what is a super sleve opposed to the vgs????
  15. Hi Possomtrot, I am hoping to get scheduled next week for my sleve...I see you are here in KY like me... (love to know that squash blossom recipe!) you are going to Las Vegas for surgery? Any particular reason why... I was thinking St Joes.. Lexington...they are highly rated...good morbidity rate below the national average, do you know something i need to know???? Please reply!
