    weight loss promotes travel : )

    We were 14,110 feet up...got a little dizzy from the altitude but drank half a liter of Water and was good to go back down. I had forgotten how much fun I have when I go out and DO things instead of sitting around promoting fat exansion when I was heavier. Still have about 50 lbs to go so Look Out World when I get to goal! I'm planning a trip to China to Celebrate getting to goal weight. ; ) What do y'all plan to do to celebrate getting to goal?
  3. Hi AnitaLou. How are you doing? I've been busy with RL so haven't been on here much.

  4. South Dakota :: P1011803.jpg picture by originalpossumtrot - Photobucket When at my heaviest I tended to stay home and do nothing. Now that I've lost a bit of weight (about half-way to goal) I'm finding I want to go out and DO things, iow, to LIVE life to it's fullest. Heck, I've even taken up hiking. Pre-weightloss possumtrot would *never* have done that. :thumbup1: This pic. is from a little while back when we took a 4,000 mile vacation out west (I drove to the top of Pike's Peak and earned my tee shirt that says "Real Women Don't Need Guardrails", lol). Man-o-man, it was *fun* after the scary part was over. It was very breezy up top of the peak and I sure was glad to have my old coat with me but it was eye-opening to see how much too big it was! I had to clutch it around me because the wind was blowing up it and I had no protection from the cold. So guess who is getting a new coat this winter? :glare: So for those struggling, keep the faith and keep living life to the fullest. Have a great day all!

    Clothes that touch your body

    I was getting comments about my weight loss, but when I finally broke down and got more form-fitting clothes the comments became huge compliments. It took me a while to get over a lifetime of worry about fat rolls showing but then I discovered foundation garments which smooth things out (plus help keep skin from sagging).

    July Surgeries

    Great tip! I had no idea... I'm close to being 2 months out and have lost 50 lbs. Started this journey in size 24W pants and size 4x tops. Yesterday I bought size 16W pants and 1x tops, so this is definitely working. There are times I feel like I'm not losing enough quickly enough, but then when I look at the stats of 25 lbs/mo. who can deny it's working? Never before would I have been able to do this on my own! Energy is still up (even when I had to start working overnights) and this has been very freeing for me. For the first time in a very long time I feel like I can go out and do things I've always wanted to do/see. It is nice to hear from others who had surgery around the same time. Sleeve-siblings unite!

    Clothes that touch your body

    Oh yes, it is so wonderful when we rediscover our bones! I was laying on my stomach in bed and had to turn on my side because my hip bones were poking into the mattress. It was really nice;

    Is my mom jealous :(

    Not only does getting sleeved turn OUR lives upside down, but it also does that to others...other folks in my life who have always been smaller than me are now really interested in my weight loss, and I suspect that a lot of it is because they could always say, "well at least possumtrot is bigger than I am"...so what are they going to do or feel when possumtrot is smaller than they are? It's not exactly like having your parents get divorced, but when something you have always counted on suddenly changes (not in your favor) it does impact everyone's world. I sincerely hope you and your mom are able to get past this problem Pronto!

    Have you heard about Vergito?

    LOL, I've been the proud owner of a VSG for 6 weeks now, so it's not like I'm going to have the vergito procedure...just hadn't heard of it before. The metabolic surgeries are fascinating to me. I'm wondering about studies, efficacy, long-term benefits, side effects, increased risks, etc. How long has vergito been done? Surely there are more than Dr. Husted who do this surgery?
  14. This is the first I've heard of vergito...is anyone else familiar with this procedure? John Husted, M.D. - Weight Loss Surgery procedures including: Gastric Bypass, Lapband, Veritcal Sleeve Gastectomy, Duodenal Switch, Vergito / Ileal Transposition and Bariatric Revision surgeries. Located in San Francisco, John Husted is the doctor fo
