I had my sleeve done on 8/30/2010 and I am only a few days post-op and I am feeling hungry. Is this normal? I am on Clear liquids of course, but was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I am not talking about "head hunger", but actual stomach growling hunger. Thanks for all the help.

BJean, thanks for thinking of me. I am doing quite well. I even cleaned house yesterday and made lunch for my family today after church. The hunger is getting better. I am still on liquids. My doctor wants me on them until I see him again which is not until Sept 17th. I have not always been a very good rule follower so I have had some of the "whipped" yogurt and that seems to kind of fill the hole. I am drinking the Protein drinks to make sure that I get all of my protein in but I shake it up a bit by putting fruit in the blender with it. A friend of mine that had the sleeve a year ago gave me a receipe for refried bean Soup from Weight Watchers that I tried today and was pretty good. Jello and Protein shakes do get old really fast. I will make it through I am sure, but I am ready to just be "normal" again and be able to eat at the table with my family.

I am feeling pretty good actually. I got out of the hospital yesterday morning and then in the afternoon I went to my daughter's pep rally so I would say I am doing pretty well.
I feel good, but I do feel very swollen. I feel like my stomach is so huge, but otherwise I feel ok. I have been pretty lazy today. I am trying to get caught up on everything around here and then I am going to get up and start doing some stuff around the house.

How have you lost so much weight already? I gained 6 pounds while in the hospital so I am up and not down. Discouraging.

I am 43. I have three kids 17, 15 and 12 and have been married for 21 years this November. I am hoping to have the forties be the best decade ever.

Thanks for all the replies. I appreciate the input. I take Prilosec daily as I was doing before the surgery. The reason I had to have the band to sleeve revision was because of the reflux that I had. I just got home from the hospital today and had a Protein shake and thought that would help, but it didn't. I am just hoping it gets better over time.

I am finally home from the hospital and I am doing fine. Thanks everyone.

I am doing well. I just got out of the hospital this morning because I could not empty my bladder. I was finally able to pee last night so they let me go today. I am feeling quite good actually. I haven't had any pain medicine for two days. I was up and walking the halls right away and I think that really helped.

The day has finally arrived. I feel like I have been in some sort of denial that it wouldn't happen for some reason. Tomorrow is the day. I am scheduled for 12:30. My doctor says that I am going to be in the hospital for 2-3 days since I am a revision from the band so I will try to post an update in a few days. I really feel a lot of support from this site so I will be back on as soon as I am able to get to a computer. Thanks for all the info.

I am just curious. Did you have reflux before your surgery? I have the band and my reflux has gotten so bad that I am having to have the band taken out and I am getting the sleeve done on Monday. My surgeon said that my reflux would improve.

I am getting sleeved on Monday too. August 30th is the big day.

The weird thing is that my band is very unpredictable. I can eat a meal and have no problems then the next meal I eat two bites and throw it up. My doctor does my fills under xray so he can see all of the reflux happening. We are just in the beginning stages of talking about revision. I have to see if my insurance will even cover it. -

Can I ask a stupid question? What is foaming, sliming, that kind of thing that people are talking about? I have restriction with my band and have a lot of throwing up but I'm not sure what these other things are. I have also experience having puke cups in my car and stopping on the side of the road to throw up. I'm very tired of that but would put up with it IF I was thin and looking fabulous, but I'm not. -

I am so glad I came across this site. I am having problems with my band and I thought it was just me. I have had terrible reflux since getting the band in April 2008 and I have the fill/unfill problems as well. I get a fill, I throw up - I get an unfill and I can eat anything and I gain weight. I am also thinking of switching to the sleeve, but I don't know much about it.
