  1. I did receive the package a couple of days ago. THANK YOU so much. You are so sweet. I will be pouring over it soon. I hope we can afford to go during spring break. Senior year really has a lot of expenses.

You guys look great in the picture of the sleeve sisters from CA. I wish I had someone that lived closee to me so we could meet. Thanks again!!!!!!!...

  2. Thank you so much. I will check it out online. Are you always so sweet? I wish I lived closer to you. I think we could be friends.

  3. oh, and my last name is Dorsey. That might help if you are going to mail something.

  4. We don't have triple AAA that I know of. That would be great. I am sure that it won't be what we expect either. I still don't know exactly what we are going to do. My address is 1004 CR 347, La Vernia, Tx, 78121. Thanks. I am not sure where Keller is. Texas is so big it is hard to know where everything is.

  5. Is there a certain area that we should stay in? I don't want to be on some bad side of town. My kids want to do the whole Hollywood thing like walk of fame and stuff like that.

  6. I had my band to sleeve revision on August 30, 2010 and I did not have any problems. I only used the pain pump the night of the surgery. I never had to take any other pain meds in the hospital or when I got home. They brought me a liquid tray the next day and I was able to drink it fine with no problems. I was up and walking in the halls of the hospital too cause I was so bored. I went to my daughter's pep rally the day I got home from the hospital My doctor had me on liquids for three weeks. Then I progressed to mushies for a week or so and then onto solid food. You can eat just a little at a time, but you don't get that "full" feeling in your chest like with the band. It is more normal you just can't eat much. I had a major last minute freak out wondering what I was doing to myself, but I had to take a deep breath and everything turned out fine. You will do fine. Good luck and keep us posted.
  7. Wow, you look great.

    Finally a Good Update

I am really happy for you, Carrie. I am glad you are feeling better.

    I go to them also.

  10. I had IBS previously also, but I had the band done in 2008 and since then I had not had that problem anymore. In fact, I was having to use a stool softener for a few months before I had the sleeve. I have progressed my diet and I am eating all kinds of foods now, not just liquids. If it doesn't get better soon I am going to email my doctor again and ask what else I can do. I got rid of the band and all of its problems, I don't want to have another problem.
  11. I am sorry to bring this up, but I have been having loose stools since my surgery. My doctor says to eat more Fiber and I am doing that. I am having the benefiber in my drink every morning and sometimes twice a day. It is really driving me crazy. I have read on here that some people get "concrete bowels", but I am having the opposite problem. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem and if anyone had any solutions. Thanks
  12. Congratulations! That is so great.
  13. I am pretty much eating everything that I want now. I am having trouble with loose stools though. I thought that it would go away after I started eating solid foods, but it hasn't. I hope it does soon.

I have not lost anything in over a week and that is kind of freaking me out. I was losing so steadily at first and it was great. I stopped weighing myself everyday. I hope the weight loss starts back up again real soon.

  14. I am doing well. How are you doing? I haven't been on here in a few days because I had a death in the extended family and I have been having issues at work and am trying to find a new job.

I have lost about 18 pounds since the day of surgery. I feel good about that. I did get nauseated for the first time yesterday. I think it was due to my medication. I took it all at once and in about 20 minutes I was very nauseated. It passed and all has been good since.

Are you still on mushies or are you on solid food? I ate a scrambled egg tonight for supper and I was so full. That seems so weird.

  15. I was banded 4/08 and lost about 60 pounds. I have gained about 20 of those pounds back. I started having problems with the band 9/09. I have terrible reflux and I was filled and unfilled constantly. My reflux has gotten so bad that they can't tighten the band anymore because even the smallest fill causes me to be unable to tolerate eating. I am scheduled to have the sleeve on 8/30/10. I am really nervous about it for some reason and I don't want to have "buyer's remorse". If I am going to have the same kind of problems with the sleeve as I did with the band then what is the point? Any suggestions? I live in San Antonio, Tx. Anyone else live here and getting their sleeve about the same time? Thanks.
  16. How long can you not drive for after the surgery? - I drove the day I got home from the hospital. How long were you on pain medication for? - I was on the Morphine pump for 24 hours and I took Lortab in the hospital at night only. I never took pain medicine when I got home. How long did you stay in the hospital? - I had to stay in the hospital for 3 nights. I was a lapband revsion and a hernia repair though. I also was having problems urinating on my own so I had to stay an extra day. Any advice on what Protein drinks are worth getting for after surgery? - the only one that I can seem to tolerate is the Bariatric Advantage vanilla flavor blended like a shake. Was your stomach swollen, if so for how long? - my stomach was swollen for several days. I was pumped full of fluids because of the previously mentioned urinating problem. I've read that many did not eat due to pain during the first week? - I am still on liquids so I am not sure about this. I had to be on liquids for three weeks. I have my post op appointment on Friday, hopefully going to be able to eat something.
  17. Sounds fun. I am still on liquids so I guess I will have to wait and see what happens.
  18. What kind of symptoms do you get with "dumping"?

    Looking for Texas Sleevers???

texasgirl27, I am really sorry to hear that. What in the world is going on? You are about the first person that I have heard anything negative from. I am just curious how you feel bad?
  20. Shana

    Only person on the planet..

I am sorry you are going through this, Carrie. It must be awful for you.

    August Sleevers Updates!

I am also daydreaming about mushies. I am on liquids for three weeks (one week to go) and it is so boring. I have lost 10 pounds though and that is awesome.

    New to the group!

What about eggs? You could do scrambled eggs or egg salad.

18 hours post op - photos

You look like you are feeling pretty good just after surgery. I am glad you are doing well.

    Tomorrow is SLEEVE DAY!

Are you kidding? Eight pounds is a lot. I think you are doing great. Good thing you took a month off. I only took off two weeks and I have to go back to work on Monday. The good thing is that I have a desk job and work from home. It should be fine.
  25. I had mine done on August 30, 2010. I am still on liquids too. Have you tried the Campbell's Soup at Hand? You heat them up in the microwave and just drink them. There is also a Weight Watchers receipe for refried bean soup. That has helped some. My doctor said I could have anything that went through a straw, but it is hard to come up with new things.
