  1. I was told that it is grease in your tummy that seaps out. Mine stopped after about 1 week and it would start up mostly after taking a shower. You are fine, don't worry its all part of the process.
  2. You have an awesome weight loss so far schaf921. Interested in knowing did she say there were any in particular that you should stay away from or did she just give you a limit as to carbs, calories, etc? If so, what were the limits. I only ask because I had my surgery out of the country and they do things differently there, I don't have a nutritionist monitoring me so I rely on you guys to help me out. Thanks
  3. Thanks guys for answering, my thing wasn't about it not tasting good, I like them I just wanted to know if others were taking the easy way out by eating them. I certainly don' eat them every day but I think they are okay. The ones I've chosen are around 220 - 240 calories, no less than 5 grams of fiber, and no more than 26 grams of carbs. Being that its the only real meal I eat I think its fine. Stick to the ones that aren't heavy in sauces and more veggies and I think we are good to go!:drool:
  4. Interested in knowing... I had my first lean cuisine yesterday for lunch (butternut squash, wheat pasta with asparagus) I had to eat it slow but I was able to finish most of it and it was very satisfying. I haven't seen these mentioned on any thread and was wondering if anyone else has tried them. I am a great cook but I find that what I make is either to heavy for me or I loose my desire to eat it after I make it. This is a nice variety and low on calories. I pick the ones that aren't high on sodium and its easy for work. Let me know your thoughts?
  5. I feel the same as all of you. For me its not so much about not liking the taste of things but more of avoiding that stuck in the middle of your chest feeling that I can't stand. I tend to eat more soft and mushy stuff to avoid it. I've eaten out a couple of times and tend to get the same stuff mac n cheese. I've been making my own protein shakes with fresh/frozen fruit, lowfat yogurt, skim milk and a scoop of protein powder and they are delicious. I also eat scrambled eggs with lots of spinach and that is a good breakfast choice. Poached eggs seem to be good too but I have to eat them very slow. I am searching the internet for more choices that aren't so painful going down. I know we have to eat more solid stuff as this helps the process of creating a stomach again but some days it isn't worth the hassle. The worse is wanting to drink and you can't and taking just a little sip after a meal and literaly girggling it up. But this is better than what we endured before! Good luck you guys!

    Nothing taste good??

    I am only 1 month and 16 days out but I understand totally of not finding food as fun as before. There have been plenty of times that I have created a meal all happy about it, hated the taste and threw it all away. I too get discouraged sometimes and simply don't eat anything as I can't find anything I want or taste good. But from reading the other threads I hear its all a process and soon enough we will be able to eat and enjoy our food.
  7. Wondering when some of you started introducing nuts into your diet? I am only 1 month and a couple days out but I like my almonds and haven't seen much of that subject here?

    Can I get you to send me your list of when to eat what? I had my surgery in Colombia and they really didn't give a detailed list like I see you refer to in many threads. Thanks again.
  9. My 4 smaller incisions were scabbing after about 5 or 6 days. The larger incision took a little longer maybe a week 1/2. I don't know if your doctor told you or his staff but sometimes that larger incision oozes out a liquid which I was told was grease and it was normal. Apparently all that excess fat we have inside needs somewhere to go and I've even heard that in some people it even comes out of their sweat glands. Don't worry its all normal and it goes away after about 6 to 7 days from when it starts. When I first got home I was only able to lay on one side so I slept with my head where your feet would normally go but it got better after just a couple of days. Just move around in the bed slowly until your tummy feels right, I had no problems sleeping. Fluids for me have been tricking. Not able to drink too much at one time and most of my stuff has to be at room temperature or hot. The cold stuff seems to be a lot more difficult when it falls. I just sip all day.   10. thanks for your words of wisdom, you are totally right it is a learning process but glad to hear you feel somewhat normal after a few months. I haven't even tried to go to a restaurant with my girls and wondered what I would even order if I did. Thanks again, and great job on all the weight you've lost!
  11. So you are basically saying you can eat regular stuff (chewing multiple times) and in way smaller amounts than before. Does it ever get easier to not have to chew so much your food since you already had your year anniversary? Also, do you ever feel satisfied now after a year? I know that now I eat and it feels like I didn't and I never have that full feeling like before only that uncomfortable gas feeling for a short time and then its over. Did it take you a lot to get use to not serving yourself the same as before, God can't tell you the times I grab something to eat pour into a bowl and realize that I was only able to eat 3 to 4 tablespoons of it.

    No problem with the mayo in both of those? I heard mayo isn't tolerated good by everyone.

    He wasn't as strict as some of these others doctors but I was on liquids for 7 days and then mushy for a month after that you start introducing stuff one at a time.
