  1. Thanks everyone for the support. Tiff I went in today and CHOPPED about 5 inches off the bottom and put in layers. It definatly looks much better, It is also nice to know that I am not the only one this is happening to. As long as I don't end up bald I am pretty sure I can survive this. I am praying I won't need another surgery, for the complications, so the hair loss wont get worse.
  2. My hair is falling out by the handful. I had surgery on May 4. Had MAJOR complications. I knew there was a chance this would happen but really not sure what to do. My hair is VERY long. Past my mid back. Will it help if I cut several inches off?? If you lost your hair, how bad was it?? Thanks
  3. Thanks Just hearing you say that helps, and makes my cry with graditude.
  4. I had my surgery on 5/4/10. During the surgery, while the doctors were stappling my sleeve, they hit my pancreus. As a result, they had to remove part of my pancreus. Needless to say I ended up staying in the hospital 6 days. I went in to my surgeons for a 2 week check up, I am still having quite a bit of pain, just below my rib cage on the left side. Doctor order a CT scan. Today she called and told me I have some Fluid near my drain site, oh and by the way it looks like there may have been some damage to my spleen as well. I really and feeling like I am loosing faith in this doctor. I was a self pay patient, And I do have a supplemental insurance through the office for 90 days, which SHOULD cover cost of additional services. I am struggling mentally. I just really want to feel good. At this point, I really can not comment on my sleeve because I think it is the one thing internally that may be right. Thanks for listening to me ramble. And Just get a few things off my mind.
  5. of food does't make you want to hurl?
  6. They called just a few moments and moved up my check in time. I am hoping to get a little sleep tonight. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I will check in Thursday. THanks
  7. I am just a day behind you. Tuesday is my surgery day. Know that you are no the only one going through this. For me that help, you know that I am not alone. Try to keep positve and looking forward. and what I have been told, is " sip, walk, rest... repeat."
  8. Thanks for asking this question. Some how I am not really thinking of what happens after. I am just thinking about going through. As I understand if you are drinking protien drinks count as both, liquid and protein. For me, I am going to try to get one good shake in a day. even if it takes all day to do it. Most of the shakes I have on hand are 30+ grams for the first week or to I am hoping that is enough.

    Preop diet...HELP

I think you would be ok to add in some seafood. Just watch for the higher fat stuff, use it sparingly. For example Salmon. Are you eating chicken, turkey, or pork, as well as your red meat??? eggs are another good protien sorce.
  10. YOU look FAB-U-LOUS. And are a fountain of information and a great guide for us newbies. PS How tall are you?
  11. Surgery is Tuesday May 4th. As of right now I am feeling pretty calm. I have had my pre-op. Paid for everything. I need to wait til monday to know when I am supose to show up at the hospital. I am feeling pretty calm as of now. Though I know I am going to get anxious as it gets closer. I really need to sit down with the kids and let them know Mommy is going to the hospital. I am really not sure what I am telling them. They are 11 and under. So they don't need to know much other than Mom is going to be home and fine in one day. I have only told a close few because I am not ready to defend my choice. I would rather do that once I am sleeved. Thanks for listening I just needed some where to empty some of the thoughts that are running through my brain.
