    I give up!!!!

I realize I need to focus on eating so here is what I eat: Breakfast: 1/2 c. cottage cheese & 1/3 chicken breast lunch: 2 oz pork & 1/2 c. cottage cheese Dinner: 1/3 chicken breast & 1/2 c. cottage cheese Snack: soy chip throughout the day 7 grams of Protein for 19 chips! Evening snack: Yup!!! 1/2 c. cottage cheese!! Yes I do really like cottage cheese.....I doctor it up a little, for breakfast i drizzle a little maple syrup on it lunch is lots of pepper and dinner is a small drizzle of french or even italian dressing ....changes the taste so it isn't boring. I also do 45 minutes of exercise every other day. I know this isn't forever but for now it works for me!
  2. I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield through my husbands work. I had no problem getting approved. They told me my BMI had to be 45 or over and mine was 52. They cover 100% of the hospital stay and 90% of the Doctor.
  3. Ok, so I guess I need to be hit in the head! It was pretty slow loss (if any) for almost 2 months. Decided to listen to my nutritionist and start writing down all my food. I even started using myfitnesspal.com found out I was eating way too many carbs and not enough Protein. Even though my calories were still low I just assumed I would still lose weight. Well I DIDN'T!!!!!! Kept track for three days and kept carbs under 30 and protein above 80 and I lost 6 lbs.!!!!! OK so it takes me awhile to catch on......got it now!!!

    I am worried!

It looks like you are definitely not getting enough Protein. What size are the bottles of Water? You do need to eat to lose otherwise your body will cling to every ounce of fat we have! I try to get 70 grams of protein and 70 oz. of water. Every day is a new day so if you mess up just do better the next day! I know I can't put ANYTHING in my stomach until I have met my protein count. Then I can treat myself! You can do this!!! And it does get easier....

    problem foods...

I could eat cooked chicken (really, really cooked and then blended with mayo). I was actually told not to do eggs at all during mushies. I made a lot of broccoli Soups, squash Soup and cream of chicken soups. Mushies don't last long in the big scheme of things. Just make sure you get your Water and Protein in!! I actually put powdered milk in all my cream and cheese soups just to up the protein content and it doesn't affect the taste at all. It does get a lot easier!!!! s

    hic-ups?

I have noticed something strange about my eating. I have definite limits that my body apparently has set up for me. When I have had enough at a meal I get the hic-ups. Does this happen to anyone else? I find it very odd and sometimes if I am out with friends it is somewhat embarrassing. Any ideas why this happens and what I can do to avoid this?
  8. I was hoping to hit 50 lbs. lost by my 50th birthday (Sunday) but it wasn't to be.....I am pretty excited now though that it has finally happened, just a few days late!! 1st goal down, two more to go!! I remember when I first started on this journey (Dec of 2009) and I started to exercise. I could barely get through the warm up portion of a Leslie Sansone Walk & Kick video. Now I not only do the whole video I also put in her 4 mile power walk and I can get through about 1 1/2 miles!! I have gone from a tight 4x top to a really roomy 3x and a size 26 jean to a size 20! I still struggle to get enough Protein in but I do ok most days. The Water is not a problem but my wonderful hubby wants me to stop using Crystal Light because of the aspartame. Does anyone have any ideas???? I really can't stand plain water...... Every one have a great day!!!
  9. Great inspiration Tiff! Could you share your exercise routine.....I was sleeved on 12-15-2009 and seem to be losing a lot slower than some. I am actually thinking of doing a week of liquid again. Once again, GREAT JOB!!
  10. I finally broke through!! It was almost three weeks at 237....three nights ago I started using ankle and hand weights with my workout videos and KAPOW!!! Lost 4 lbs in two days!!! The workouts kicked my butt but it was so worth it! Gotta keep stepping up the pace and not become complacent with the workout. Always push forward! On a sad note I have had caramel (my favorite thing on earth to eat:wink0:) twice now since my surgery on Dec. 15 and both time I got so sick I wanted to vomit but couldn't. A mixed blessing for sure!

    Scar positioning?

I have a 12 inch scar from gallbladder surgery (before it was done laproscopically) and my doc actually used that scar for the largest incision for my VSG. Not concerned at all about the VSG scars cuz of the gallbladder and 8 inch appendix scar (also done before it was done laproscopically). There are creams that will help. My son just had cysts removed from between his eyes and the doc recommended miderma(sp) and said that really helps. He also said you should NOT expose the scars to the sun without huge spf sunscreen for at least a year because the sun will actually make the scars darker.

  13. I take: celexa - (have taken that for years) 5,000 IU of D - 3 1,000 mcg 0f B12 woman's Multivitamin I must say though I have never had so much energy!!!!
  14. So, I posted a sample day of what I eat and was wondering why I wasn't losing anything. Thanks for all the help guys! I think it was a lack of Protein just like most of you said. I actually added about 1 1/2 oz. of chicken to every meal and I have lost 3 lbs!!!!! I put the chicken on my crackers (sorry, but I couldn't cut them out) Moving again and loving life! Thank you to all that posted....
