  1. I want to know everyones favorite thing to eat when they were on mushies or home soft food, whatever your dietian called it.
  2. I was wondering if anyone else experienced this. I am having trouble with Breakfast. In the morning when it's time to eat breakfast or even drink some Water I find myself being very nauseous. I can barely eat anything in the morning with out it coming back up. I can drink water but feel sick when I do. After lunch I don't have this problem. By dinner time I can eat really good and drink also. If you had this problem and found a solution please let me know. Thanks
  3. I remember, I ate an atkins type diet two weeks before my liquid diet of 3 days. I had one day before I did the liquid where I ate whatever I wanted. "Funeral" I remember about a week after my surgery and still on liquids I announced to my family that I wished I had had one more of those sour creams enchiladas that day. Everyone laughed and so did I.

    Jan Feb Surgeries

I had my surgery Jan 21st. Maybe the 22nd. Gees I can't remember. It says on my signature. I've lost about 40 pounds. I'm excited. I keep my carbs down under 30 and loose something everyday. food....well....I could take it or leave it. My stomach hurts every time I eat. No matter what it is. I'm hoping that dies down. I'm never hungry. If I get busy I completely forget. I miss drinking (chugging) Water though. Sometimes I just wish I could down a glass of cold water. Lately I've been missing my diet coke. I haven't craved it until now. I think with the weather change makes me want a cold diet coke. yummmm! Probably would hurt my stomach though. Congrats everyone!

    Pills

I have been doing some research on her about what Vitamins people are taking. I had been taking a gummy multi Vitamin and just started with a chewable Iron. Can we take a solid pill? I am 1 month and 3 weeks out from surgery. Thanks Gwyn
  6. I was wondering what you guys are doing for energy or what you have done for energy. I'm 6 weeks out and I just have no energy. I am exercising. Walking 4 times a week. My babies take all my energy. Did you take something just to get you through your work out? Like 5 hour Energy? Gwyn

    Energy levels

Mary, no I don't get enough sleep. I have a 4 month old baby. Last night I took my iron pill and my baby slept all night for the first time. I actually got 8 hours of uninterupted sleep last night. Its been a long time since that happened. I feel like a completely different woman!!!
  8. My recovery was quite easy. I have a two year old and a 4 month old. My mom was here to help but it seemed to go by fast. I was walking for exercise after I go home. I don't work. If I did and it was an office job I could have went back to work the next day. You will be very pleased with Dr Zapata and the hospital. Monterrey is more like a European city than what you would think a mexican city is. I had a really good experience. The nurses where great and checked on me all the time. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Thanks for the advice. I just bought me a chewable iron. I hope this helps. Midwest girl your profile pic looks great. Congrats on the weight loss.
  10. I'm six weeks out. This week I have lost all interest in food. I could careless if I eat and when I do eat it just doesn't taste good. I know I need to be getting my calories in so I force myself to eat. But really I wouldn't if I didn't have to. Did anyone else feel this way and what did you do? Did it last? I just don't know how I could get more calories without having to many carbs. Thanks
  11. I'm trying to do a pre-op diet. I'm having some major cravings. Do your cravings go away after surgery? I've not seen anything in here about it. Please help, I'm just really fighting it right now. One other thing I've noticed. When I diet I'm not a happy person. I've been biting my husbands head off all day and I'm just realizing that I'm in a bad mood because I'm hungry. Am I going to be like this after the surgery or am I going to fell satisfied.

    So Discouraged....

I was in the same boat. I am a month and 4 days. The scale had not moved in 2 weeks. I cut down my carbs to less than 30 and I have lost 3 pounds since Monday. This is what I have been eating this week. Egg Beaters w cheese, I did Peanut Butter on a piece of 45 calorie toast. (Peanut butter can be high in fat.) But it is oooohhh so good. today I had tuna fish salad on one slice of toasted 45 calorie bread dinner was tilapia with steamed broccoli. Last night was the first night I ate chicken breast but I chewed it really good! One thing I really like and is really easy to eat is the deli turkey with laughing cow cheese. It is really good and filling. Its hard when you think that this isn't working for you. I know. I was thinking the same thing 3 days ago. I even cried. Thinking that I couldn't eat what I wanted and I'm still going to be fat!. Well......I'm just going to have to do the carb thing until I hit goal and then I'll be able to add in more carbs. COOPERSMAMA...glad to here that the scale moved!
  14. Cooper, I had my surgery on Jan 21. Yesterday was my month. I started out at 334 and today I only weight 311. According to everyone else I should be loosing fast. I haven't lost anything in 12 days. I'm very frustrated. Today I had a break down and thought this surgery hasn't worked for me and I am always going to be fat. So today I decided I'm cutting out all carbs. I can have meat now. So long carbs and hopefully the weight will start moving!
  15. I am in the same boat with you guys. Its frustrating. Just going keep on going.

    Favorite Home soft food.

The refried beans sound great and so do the sweet potatoes. I checked my diet today and I can't have tuna until my 4th week, chicken and turkey on 5th week and ground beef on 6th week. I might try mashed califlower instead of potatoes. I was thinking about some baby food. Anybody try baby food?
  17. I'm 10 days out and wanted to know when and if ever do we over come this stupid head hunger. It's a battle I've been fitting daily since 4 days after surgery. I won't give in. I want this too much and I don't want to have any problems. I'm just getting really frustrated and need some support.
  18. I've been reading a lot about people stalling a few weeks after their surgery. Some stalling for a month. I am curious how many of you did this? How many of you weigh every day versus every week? Did you try anything the first time you noticed your weight not moving? I'm a week out and I'm not looking forward to having a stall.

    Why am I hungry.

Thanks guys. Reading Norma's post about how much weight she's lost in 3 months and hearing from you guys help. I think when I was pregnant I got in a bad habit of eating late at night and now I'm paying for it. That seems to be when I fight it the most.

    3 month pics

Norma, How encouraging. I'm 10 days out and I started at 334. I've lost 18 pounds so far I just started a thread about how hungry I am. I'm 10 days out. But your post was so encouraging it brought my spirits up! I can't believe that I could even remotely have the same results as you. Just the prospect that it could be possible makes me soooooo excited! Thanks for your post.
  21. I gained 15, but I also traveled a long way. I had my surgery on the 21st. Weighed 325. When I got home on Saturday night I weighed 340. Today I weighed 316. It doesn't last long at all! It took me 4 days to lose that 15 pounds. It comes off fast.

    Post surgery full liquids.

I just started full liquids yesterday. I had cream of chicken soup(strained). Made it with skim milk and made sure it was a little thin. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. It was sooooooooooo good! Today I going to try some cream of potato blended and strained. I have butternut squash soup, french onion soup, cheddar soup.
  23. Loser, I am 4 days out and I'm dealing with my head hunger. I'm counting down the days to full liquids. I just need some texture in my mouth. I know I can't be hungry because it takes me the whole morning to drink 32 ounces of water. But when I made my husband chicken on the grill tonight my mouth watered. I'm sticking it out though! I'm having dreams too. Last night I dreamed I ate a biscuit with roast beef and potatoes. (not even my favorite food) After one bite I started freaking out cause I knew I wasn't suppose to be eating any solid food. I'm sure it will go away if I press through! Good luck on the will power!
  24. Had my surgery in Monterrey Mexico Thursday. It was a great experience. Can't wait to see the pounds coming off. Right now I'm just sipping sipping sipping and walking walking walking. Had one question. The pain at the incision site where the stomach was pulled through. How long does that hurt? Gwyn:thumbup:

3 days on the Loser side

Thanks guys. I found myself being hungry this evening. Not loving the broths and really barely liking the juice from chicken noodle soup. Any suggestion for making it through the next 5 days?
