  1. My surgeon also told me no more NSAIDS ever and I think he said it is because of possible ulcers in the staple line. I will have to check with my husband, he remembers everything! I have been off of Naproxen for probably 7 weeks now and have numerous aches and pains that the Naproxen was "hiding"! I really would like to have some so I can work out a little harder.
  2. No problems with cold but my stomach makes really loud noises when I drink my two cups of decaf a day!
  3. Wow amazing results, congratulations!
  4. Thanks for the reviews Tiffy, I will definitely try them!
  5. Hugs Girl! It will all be looking up soon!
  6. Did you have to give yourself injections of a bloodthinner after surgery? I did for 10 days and bruising was one of the side effects. If not then I would see my Dr as soon as possible. It may be nothing but here is a link about bruising as a symptom. Symptom: Bruising - CureResearch.com Best of luck!
  7. Wow off of meds already? That is amazing, you are doing so well congratulations!
  8. Congratulations on your baby and good luck with your approval!
  9. Wow, congratulations Gary that is amazing and you look great! I can not believe you have done so well in such a short time. What an inspiration.
  10. Yikes! I'm screwed, my hair is also sparse and very fine. I do remember losing quite a bit of hair on Optifast! Thank God mine is long I may have to fashion a comb over!
  11. Don't forget that first week can be tough you will feel SO much better in just a week or two. It is truly lovely on this side of it and I did NOT feel that way for a few days after surgery!
  12. Wow! Great job Midwest Girl I am so excited for you!
  13. If it helps, I will be 4 weeks out on Wednesday and I will admit to having a little remorse the first few days after surgery. I hated that I just couldn't control myself and had to chop a perfectly good stomach! I was sitting in a hotel room only able to take the TINIEST sips of water thinking "What in the heck have I done?" By the beginning of my second week I was WAY better. Week 4 and I am thrilled, I have absolutely no problems with my sleeve, even with 85% missing my stomach is still ready to roll! I eat all of my protein already, I can eat almost an entire chicken breast with no problems at all and my surgeon does not have you blenderize anything, he just says to chew thoroughly. I can take pretty normal sized drinks of water too. It is amazing how quickly your body can repair itself! So while I am sorry that I had to have the surgery I am also thrilled that I did. All my best to all of you, good luck!
  14. I get the huge hiccups definitely not the dainty ones. With the burping you know how the sleeve is kind of shaped like a bananna? When I eat it feels like there is a bunch of air way down at the bottom of the sleeve and like the food piles up on that air and then the air has to sift all the way up to the top. No pain, just a weird feeling. I also sometimes feel like someone is going to hear some of the wild rumbling my stomach makes now! 85% of it is gone and now it is crazy noisy!
  15. Are you afraid that you are trying to sabotage yourself? Before I was sleeved when I would get stressed and just start pounding the food I kept wondering why I was doing that to myself. You are almost a year out and what a year that has been for your body. Is it possible that your mind is just kind of trying to play catch up? Or maybe I am just way off track! I wish you the best of luck and will be praying for you, I did not realize you were planning a pregnancy, how exciting!!
  16. 50 lbs? How fun!
  17. I agree about the one week posts, that first week can be tough and these posts are really full of promise especially for someone who may be feeling down. Congratulations Kelly and I will be praying for you Stcyt!
  18. Like about everyone else, I cruised the boards like crazy! I think being obsessed with gaining information was definitely a good thing! Sometimes I was nervous sometimes excited and sometimes kind of shocked that it was really happening. I will say that once I got to Kansas 3 days before surgery I was strangely calm. I always pictured myself being a nervous wreck and shaking the day of surgery, but I didn't AT ALL. I had done the research so I was confident. Hope you enjoy as fantastic of an experience as I did. Congratulations.
  19. Heartwrenching story Stoongal, so sorry to hear it. I will pray for your sister and that other members accept and respect your candor.
  20. I will be praying for you. My husband was definitely not thrilled about this surgery but he changed, he has been amazing, I am sure yours will come around too!
  21. I will be 3 weeks out this Wednesday and am DIEING for some coffee! My nutritionist said no more caffeine because it could set me up for ulcers in my staple line. I am allowed 2 cups per day of decaf tea or coffee after the 4th week. Anyone else supposed to stay away from caffeine due to ulcers? Thanks!
  22. Thanks for the reminder that the sleeve is just a tool, at not quite 3 weeks out I do slip in to the "miracle" way of thinking! I realize that you are looking for tips to get back at it and unfortunately I do not have any for you. However, I do want to tell you that I am currently a size 26 and just thinking that I might be a size 18 in 5 months makes me want to do cartwheels! Someone on here will be able to give you some useful advice to get you back into the losing phase but I hope you will step back and take a look at the big picture and enjoy the accomplishments you have already made! Congratulations and good luck!
  23. Wonderful post! Just want to add that spring is such a wonderful time to be newly sleeved, it feels good to want to be outside again!
