    Monday Morning Weigh In

Starting Weight: 271 Last Week's: 218 This Morning: 215 I need to get back in the gym on a more regular basis!! Walking/jogging a 5K this weekend. I think I need to sign up for these every 4-6 weeks...to keep me motivated and working out!
  2. Oh, and i'm off 820 and Marine Creek Parkway....which is maybe 2 exits west of the Blue Mound Exit.

  3. haha...yeah, I quit smoking before the surgery...and then again a few weeks after. I don't mind driving either, if you're not as familiar with the area. Should be fun!

  4. haha...I'm literally 5 minutes from Blue Mound and 820. Where are they exactly? Yeah, we can totally carpool!

  5. My surgery was Dec 21st and I got my gym membership Dec 31st. That being said, it took a couple of weeks to really get going...and then of course, I wasn't cleared for weights until late January. At this point, I can walk/jog 4.2 miles in an hour, but it's work!! I also completed half marathon last Sunday...and that almost killed me. haha
  6. Alright, I am there! How exciting!

    I Did It!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the encouraging words! I didn't train as much as I wanted to, and I really wanted to be down another 21 pounds by yesterday before the race....I really think exercising is important to making this weight loss thing happen at a steady pace. Yesterday definitely motivated me to get back into the gym 5-6 times a week instead of 2-3, though!

    Monday Morning Weigh In

Just discovered this thread....I also weigh every Monday morning. Starting Weight: 271 Last Week's Weight: 221 This Morning's: 218 I completed a half marathon yesterday (first ever...of any kind of run/race), so maybe that's what sparked my 3 pound lost. I have been at 221 for 2-3 weeks now.

Let's get this singles forum going!

OMG...I'm at work right now, and don't have time to comment, Tiff. But your last part is cracking me up right now. I am totally with you on everything you've said! lol More later!

Let's get this singles forum going!

So update..... Things still going great with Mr. Intellectual! I like him more and more everyday, and even got him to join the gym with me. The only thing is...he's really inexperienced with women. Like, really, really. Something I am not used to. He's only had one real girlfriend before me, and he's 40. I can't seem to get past that. Any ideas? Can guys be taught at that age??? lol Ugh...not that sex is everything...but it's pretty important to me. Is this too much information??? haha

Let's get this singles forum going!

So....what's going on with everyone?? It's been a month since the last post, so am ready for some stories! I'm also single. Did the online thing....met some good guys, but none were for me. I just broke up with my on and off again (7 years) in October, and started seeing someone else recently. And by on and off again, I mean literally....dated 3-4 guys in between...engaged to one, etc. So the new guy....on paper, he's fabulous...it just remains to be seen if the passion is there. I'm trying to take it slow, so we'll see! Question for you all....have you or when do you tell them about the surgery? I had mine on Dec 21st, so it's still kind of new for me. This last guy, I met on a dating website for smart people (aka nerds) where you have to take and pass an IQ test to join....haha. Anyhoo, I went ahead and told him before we had met in person. It went well though. He's been very supportive and understanding, and even has joined me at the gym a few times. But....alas.....the passion thing is way important to me...so hopefully we'll work out in that department too! Ugh...I hope so, anyway!
  12. Yeah, I agree with everyone....you are totally motivating! You really should be getting paid for this...haha. I'm surprised you aren't the spokes person for the sleeve somewhere! You really should be. Makes me want to get to the gym pronto!! Congrats on everything!:biggrin0:

    down a 100 pounds

    So inspirational!!!! Congratulations!:confused1:
  14. This makes me happy! Yeah, I've been stalled for the last two weeks. However, my clothes are getting looser, so I'm not really worried. I definitely need to up my water intake though. That's the goal everyday for me.
  15. That sounds so fun. Where the heck did you find an old mini?? I only seem to see them when I go to the UK. I haven't really looked into joining any groups or rides with the mini folks. I'm not much of a fast driver, just fell in love with the car itself. Mine is an '04 (picked it up in Oct of '03). It's silver, black trim. I really need something bigger than the clubman, but I can't see myself getting anything other than a mini. However, this surgery was a self pay, so the car will have to wait until that's paid off. Hopefully I can get it this summer or fall.

Yay I have DATE and, DRAMA = [.

I know this is not helpful, but I would be completely PISSED as well. What the hell was that person thinking posting it on your WALL. Geez....send an email, or something! My mom and dad did the same thing over the holidays...told all the extended family...his two brothers, my mom's 13 brothers and sisters. I mean, really?? Thankfully none of them posted anything on FB. I think I would have had it out with someone. So sorry. Do you know how long the comment was up before you deleted it? Ugh...you're right. What's done is done. Everything happens for a reason. So maybe it will turn out to be a good thing. Again, so sorry. I'll definitely be angry with you! :smile1:
  17. Awww...I love Mini's, too! Which one do you have? I got mine in 03, and I'm ready to trade it in. I love the Clubman, in hot chocolate, with the silver trim. Would rather the trim be white or cream, but that's not available yet.

  18. Right now I'm doing an hour of cardio a day. When I started it on the 30th, I was only able to walk about 2.25 miles in that amount of time. Now I'm almost to 3 miles in that hour. I'm only doing the treadmill right now. I tried the elliptical for 10 minutes, and couldn't handle it...stomach cramps, etc. As soon as I'm cleared, I will add weights to the workout. Arms twice a week and legs twice a week. I know it's so hard to get everything in. I hear those protein bullets are good to use. Have you tried those? When were you sleeved again, the 31st? I feel so much better now that I'm off liquids. So much more energy. Right now, I'm trying to only weigh once a week...but weighed this morning and it's only moved down 4 ounces. I did do a food transition over the weekend, and did not work out 4 days last week due to low energy, so I'm that worried about it. Good luck finding some more protein. The greek yogurt is pretty good.
  19. So I had my first appt with the doc today and I've lost 24 pounds so far. Yay! lol

    Time off of work

I was sleeved on Dec 21st, and was supposed to return to work on Dec 28th. However, over that weekend, I started feeling lethargic, dehydrated, etc, so I went ahead and took that week of Dec 28th off too. And only because I knew we would be busy and I would be running around a lot. If things were slow that week, I would have gone in.
  21. Yes! The meds that the doc gave me, are helping a lot. I still have the gas, but it's more tolerable and not as bad, therefore, no nausea. I'm getting more things down and more Water down. I'm getting my water in, but still short on Protein and calories. I'm using the thing Tiffykins uses...my fitness pal, I think, so I can actually keep track of these things. Anyway, things are looking up. Glad the weight is falling off of you! I can't wait to weight Wednesday.
  22. Stacie--what did the doc say? Did they give you Zofran? Update if you can, would hate for you to have to go to the ER. Luckily I seemed to pull through and am putting more things down. Thinoneday--Congrats!! This is kind of fun, huh?? Yeah, what an eye opener about portion control, huh? I'm still learning that I won't feel "left out" if I don't finish my portion...and that it will satisfy my hunger. It's a journey, alright. FabBY--you were sleeved on Dec 30th? You are definitely doing better than I was a week out. I think if you save your ticker to your signature, then it should only show up once. But everytime you update it, make sure you delete the old one.
  23. I know this may sound dumb. And honestly, the only people who I have ever found that have this same problem, are people who wrote into this forum on the internet for other people that can't burp (there's about 300 of us). I can't physically burp, never have been able to. I can't make myself burp, and it never comes naturally. Maybe 5 times in my life has it come naturally. So anytime I drink or eat too much, the gas gets stuck in my throat and chest area, and basically sits there until I can find 20 minutes to lie down flat, or let it go away on it's own...(hours). About 5 days post-op, this has gotten worse. Pretty much anytime I eat anything or drink too much, it happens. And by eating, we're talking about a tablespoon of food here, per meal. Drinking....little sips taken every few minutes or so over a long period of time will cause it. When the gas gets stuck, I get really nauseous, unless there is a place for me to lie down flat to let it pass. If I can't lie down, then the nausea (which could last hours), makes it really difficult to eat or drink anything. The short of it is, I know I'm not getting enough Water, calories, or Protein in. I'm really scared this might be a long term problem. Does the gas eventually calm down?? Or are you all finding you still need to burp every time you eat? In the meantime, what the hell do I do?? No medication has ever worked...gas X, rolaids, tums, etc. My friends have always made fun of me growing up, because I couldn't burp and it would cause a great damper on my social life when we would try to go to dinner and then have drinks after. I always had to cut out early because I was feeling sick. I talked to the doc about it and he had no real solution. On the other forum, some of these people have been to gastro specialists, had tests, etc, and no one has found a real cure. At this point, I'm ready to hire someone who specializes in muscle memory to teach me how to burp. God, I'm sure this all sounds completely ridiculous....and the only reason I'm putting it out there, is because I'm worried about my caloric/protein/water intake. Plus, I'm working out everyday and burning about 300 calories, so that also has me worried. Anyway, hoping someone else on this board has had this problem and has found the miracle cure.
  24. I am 2 1/2 weeks post up and I have lost 32 pounds. I'm 5'3 and started at 271, and weighed in at 239 yesterday. However, I am having a hard time getting in all my liquids and Protein due to other issues. So I think this loss isn't the average.
