  1. It's been a while.... SW: 271 LW: 206 TW: 203
  2. Starting Weight: 271 Last Week's: 212 This Morning: 210 Goal: 150
  3. Starting Weight: 271 Last Week's: 215 This Morning: 212
  4. Oh god, no. I walked/jogged. haha
  5. Starting Weight: 271 Last Week's: 218 This Morning: 215 I need to get back in the gym on a more regular basis!! Walking/jogging a 5K this weekend. I think I need to sign up for these every 4-6 weeks...to keep me motivated and working out!
  6. My surgery was Dec 21st and I got my gym membership Dec 31st. That being said, it took a couple of weeks to really get going...and then of course, I wasn't cleared for weights until late January. At this point, I can walk/jog 4.2 miles in an hour, but it's work!! I also completed half marathon last Sunday...and that almost killed me. haha
  7. Thanks for the encouraging words! I didn't train as much as I wanted to, and I really wanted to be down another 21 pounds by yesterday before the race....I really think exercising is important to making this weight loss thing happen at a steady pace. Yesterday definitely motivated me to get back into the gym 5-6 times a week instead of 2-3, though!
  8. Just discovered this thread....I also weigh every Monday morning. Starting Weight: 271 Last Week's Weight: 221 This Morning's: 218 I completed a half marathon yesterday (first ever...of any kind of run/race), so maybe that's what sparked my 3 pound lost. I have been at 221 for 2-3 weeks now.
  9. I finished the half marathon yesterday. By mile 3, I was contemplating my exit strategy. By mile 8, I was optimistic about finishing. By mile 11, I had an exit strategy and almost took it!!! However, I pushed through and crossed the finish line. I couldn't believe it. That was definitely one of the hardest things I've ever done. haha:thumbup:
  10. Yeah, I agree with everyone....you are totally motivating! You really should be getting paid for this...haha. I'm surprised you aren't the spokes person for the sleeve somewhere! You really should be. Makes me want to get to the gym pronto!! Congrats on everything!:biggrin0:
  11. So inspirational!!!! Congratulations!:confused1:
  12. Hey everyone! I was just wondering what everyone's exercise routine is these days. Do you mix cardio and weight/strength training? How many days a week are you doing it? For long timers, have you seen less loose skin depending on the exercising you're doing? I was sleeved on Dec 21st and I got my gym membership on Dec 31st. I haven't been cleared for weights yet, so I'm strictly doing cardio. I'm up to an hour a day, 4-6 times a week. I went ahead and put a goal in place for the spring (albeit a lofty one!!) and I'm participating in a half marathon (Rock and Roll Marathon of Dallas). I might not be able to finish it, but I'm going to try anyway! Anyone else set exercise goals for this quarter?? This seems to be the key for my success in losing the weight and looking good while doing it. So I would love to hear what everyone else does.
  13. This makes me happy! Yeah, I've been stalled for the last two weeks. However, my clothes are getting looser, so I'm not really worried. I definitely need to up my water intake though. That's the goal everyday for me.
  14. I know this is not helpful, but I would be completely PISSED as well. What the hell was that person thinking posting it on your WALL. Geez....send an email, or something! My mom and dad did the same thing over the holidays...told all the extended family...his two brothers, my mom's 13 brothers and sisters. I mean, really?? Thankfully none of them posted anything on FB. I think I would have had it out with someone. So sorry. Do you know how long the comment was up before you deleted it? Ugh...you're right. What's done is done. Everything happens for a reason. So maybe it will turn out to be a good thing. Again, so sorry. I'll definitely be angry with you! :smile1:
  15. Right now I'm doing an hour of cardio a day. When I started it on the 30th, I was only able to walk about 2.25 miles in that amount of time. Now I'm almost to 3 miles in that hour. I'm only doing the treadmill right now. I tried the elliptical for 10 minutes, and couldn't handle it...stomach cramps, etc. As soon as I'm cleared, I will add weights to the workout. Arms twice a week and legs twice a week. I know it's so hard to get everything in. I hear those protein bullets are good to use. Have you tried those? When were you sleeved again, the 31st? I feel so much better now that I'm off liquids. So much more energy. Right now, I'm trying to only weigh once a week...but weighed this morning and it's only moved down 4 ounces. I did do a food transition over the weekend, and did not work out 4 days last week due to low energy, so I'm that worried about it. Good luck finding some more protein. The greek yogurt is pretty good.
  16. I was sleeved on Dec 21st, and was supposed to return to work on Dec 28th. However, over that weekend, I started feeling lethargic, dehydrated, etc, so I went ahead and took that week of Dec 28th off too. And only because I knew we would be busy and I would be running around a lot. If things were slow that week, I would have gone in.
  17. Yes! The meds that the doc gave me, are helping a lot. I still have the gas, but it's more tolerable and not as bad, therefore, no nausea. I'm getting more things down and more Water down. I'm getting my water in, but still short on Protein and calories. I'm using the thing Tiffykins uses...my fitness pal, I think, so I can actually keep track of these things. Anyway, things are looking up. Glad the weight is falling off of you! I can't wait to weight Wednesday.
  18. Stacie--what did the doc say? Did they give you Zofran? Update if you can, would hate for you to have to go to the ER. Luckily I seemed to pull through and am putting more things down. Thinoneday--Congrats!! This is kind of fun, huh?? Yeah, what an eye opener about portion control, huh? I'm still learning that I won't feel "left out" if I don't finish my portion...and that it will satisfy my hunger. It's a journey, alright. FabBY--you were sleeved on Dec 30th? You are definitely doing better than I was a week out. I think if you save your ticker to your signature, then it should only show up once. But everytime you update it, make sure you delete the old one.
  19. I am 2 1/2 weeks post up and I have lost 32 pounds. I'm 5'3 and started at 271, and weighed in at 239 yesterday. However, I am having a hard time getting in all my liquids and Protein due to other issues. So I think this loss isn't the average.
  20. I think they are working. Not to the full extent of what I would like it to be, but I'm definitely able to take more food and liquids in after starting the Reglan. Thanks for checking on me, and I'll keep you posted. Just taking away half the gas in my throat and chest has helped tremendously!
  21. Rachel, Try doing what Tiffy says and keep the carbs low. I bet you anything, you'll see results. Think Atkins diet...even if only trying it for two weeks. It really does sound like the carb content might be the problem. Protein shakes...EAS makes one where there is 17 grams of protein and only 2 carbs. I would stay away from anything that has more than 10 carbs in the content. Glad you brought this up. Once I'm eating a bit more normally, I'm really going to watch the carb content. Right now, I'm just lucky to get anything down. Let me know how it goes! Olivia
  22. I'm in Fort Worth, but I travel to Austin sometimes for business. I'll definitely let you know when I'm out there next. Probably in February, actually. Do you all ever get to DFW?
  23. Well, the pro-biotics really didn't do anything. My doc called to check on me today, so I told him what was going on. He called in two meds--a nerve med, and an anti-ulcer. Received one, and waiting on the other to be approved by insurance. So hopefully this will work. Otherwise, he said he's admitting me for dehydration and starvation. Frustrating. Please keep your fingers crossed that this will work. I really want to drink and eat....I swear! :confused1:
