I just wanted to say that I went through the same thing for the first 5 weeks after surgery. Now, I am on a regular losing streak of about 3 lbs/week - except for "that time of the month". It does get better. I don't follow any particular guideline except protein first. The sleeve makes sure of the rest! I was really freaked out initially, then I remebered what hell I have put my body through for the last 10 years of yoyo dieting gaining and losing. I think my body just needed time to say "are you REALLY sure this time"?! I am 9 weeks out now and loving it!

Fab by 50 - I am with you. I have left these boards myself due to the slander that goes on on these boards. When I disucssed it with my surgeon, he told me that many of these boards are owned and operated by MX surgeons who hire staff to post terrible things about US surgeons in an attempt to dissuade them from using US hospitals. They have done the research to prove the location/IP addresses of the posts. I myself have been subject to this hatred and have been very dissapointed. I came here looking for help and support and to provide information on my experience and have gotten nothing but stress as a result. I am sure this post will get the same response. There is some helpful information here, but it is hard to sift out the real info from the fake.

I will say again that I have had an excellent experience with Dr. Umbach in Las Vegas. I am seeing him for my 6 week follow up tonight. He operates at Desert Springs Hospital and I received wonderful care there. I was self pay and his prices are very reasonable. His office staff are wonderful and helpful. He has support groups in his office twice a month on Saturdays that I have found extremely helpful. He and his office staff are committed to follow up for the success of his patients.
