  1. Norma, I am so sorry for your knee problems, but hope everything will work out for your total health recovery and be on your way soon. Congratulations on your weight loss and know we are here for you. Remember keep pumping your foot on the immobile leg to keep that blood going!

I have cigna and Cajun is right. Maybe in the future but who knows, not waiting around for them or jumping through hoops. I have seen on this site that medicaid pays for it, really surprised!
  3. A 10! I haven't seen that for decades. Good for you deedee. I can't wait to throw out all my clothes. Just maybe a few jeans, but more than likely outdated for sure. Make a clean sweep...
  4. Congratulations!!! Thank you for sharing your story with us and helping us with our journey and concerns..

We'll be thinking of you on your surgery. I hope you are having a good night post op! Keep us posted.
  8. Thanks, didn't know if it was a neurological issue or what, but was worried. I'm glad it has been a bonus for some to have the surgery.
  9. Like Norma, I decided to start my pre op diet early and see how the shakes and clear protein drinks went down. Isopure is awful! Not doing that. Not sure what to do that first week yet but tried the Gnc vanilla shakes and liked them but feel like someone else said they would be too sweet later on, maybe thin them with more soy milk. Liked the soy powder better. So am doing two shakes and then evening meal of meat and veg, no carbs or limited just yet and I lost 5 lbs in two days. I also used to have 2 glasses of wine almost daily and don't do that so that is a hugh drop in carbs for me. I feel better! Bought a digital scale. Saw dee dee's tip on Bariatric eating.com's pom razz sangria of 30gr protein and that looks really good. As always the best to you all. Thanks for the great tips Cajun. Come on Dec 4!!!
  10. Thank you for sharing this information. It helps me to realize that there are several reasons why each of us end up obese and they don't go away with surgery and weight loss. The mind is a powerful thing and what you see in the mirror isn't always whats important. The fight has just begun. I am saving the list of books! You sound like you are taking care of yourself in your journey to good health.
  11. I was wondering about a question that several of you had post surgery about not urinating, urgency, loss of pressure since your surgery. Can I ask if you still feel that way. DownInSoCal was in a study I believe and wanted to know if this resolved? Thanks again
  12. Hello everyone, I read these blogs about it taking a half hour to get one little meal down, seems like you must be doing this all day. This must take too much of your time! I thought I was a slow eater.. Know it has to be done though....
  13. I have just wanted to see everyone's story post surgery and everyone's journey. Guess I need to update my info to put surgery date and doctors name with my ticker. Time for me is getting near. So thankful for all the sharing of what to expect and be ready for. Sounds like you are doing great!
  14. Congratulations on your surgeries! Can I ask who your surgeons were Sweetie and Ready to maintain?
  15. My surgery is Dec 4 at Dr. Aceves and am not on a pre op yet..one week bf surg but I too am eating a little more than usual and most unusual want cokes, pop etc which I never hardly care about. I am going to get my protein shakes, unjury lined up, lots of good advice on what might work taste wise for me. I don't want to worry about chasing around after that post op. I have a great treadmill in the garage that is staring at me also, gathering dust. I put a pic of me taken 17 years ago that was my best weight on the refrig, there for any dithering I might have. Wish someone from here was going same time. I am getting excited!! Good luck to you!
  16. Thanks Linda. Will check tomorrow.
  17. I have a question about financing.. I have the money for the surgery now but my husband is in business for himself and is now going into the slow time of year and am worrying we will be short later on by using all the cash. He keeps reassuring me to go ahead and is supportive of everything, but my question, did anyone use the medical financing they advertise? Drawbacks, interest rate? It would be for part not all. I have never seen a thread about this. Thanks all
  18. Thanks so much for the great info Vegas, I am saving all this for my post op in December, thank God for this site!
  19. Hey Vegas, you said you will be back to Dr. Aceves in December, what dates? Maybe I could meet you there around Dec. 4?
  20. Ky hen, I have my passport, did you need your birth cert?
  21. There is a quick test done on CT that looks at the heart for blockages and in my area costs $99. It is another good check for heart and of course you will get radiation but a simple test.
  22. Hi Free, I am scheduled for Dec. 4 with Dr. Aceves and also thinking about the pre-op diet. I am also nervous but know I will be worse when the time is shorter. Please keep us updated and we will all be thinking of you on Dec 2! Think where you will be in a few weeks after surgery with the pounds melting away..
  23. Thank you for sharing, I learn so much from all the sleevers that have gone before me. Surg Dec. 4. Continued good luck and speedy healing to you!
  24. :thumbup1:I'm scheduled for surgery Dec 4 by Dr. Aceves's. Is anyone else going to be there from here? I have to do a 7 day pre-op diet of high protein, low carb which starts the day after thanksgiving, hummmmm, will try and be good anyway. I hope to see someone from the Forum.
  25. Downinsocal, you are too funny!! That is a milestone.
