  1. Deedee, sounds like a great idea. I had thought that these kitchens were set up for the customer to come and make several dishes of your choice with everything there for you to do it yourself and then like you said to take it home to freeze or use later on. Can't wait to hear your experience. Has to be better for you than eating out and you knowing what is going into the dish vs high fat and salt in take out. Good cooking!!
  2. Congratulations Nanna, wow 67lbs in 3 months, hard to believe but you have been doing a great job! What are you doing and how much exercise? Again way to go!! Thanks for sharing.
  3. Norma, Thank you also for your words to help us all try to maintain an even keel as we progress through this hugh change in our lives. Hope you are feeling well with your journey. Thanks again..
  4. Head to toe, welcome to the forum and on your upcoming surgery. For post op diet and general information Vegas has put together a great page for us pre op sleevers. Just search Vegas post op diet and it should pop up. It covers everything and was so helpful to me and all in one place. There are so many here to help with all your questions. Good luck!
  5. Yay deedee, That was a big step for you and I know you would be a good instructor, so empathetic. I could not even think of talking when I am huffing and puffing. See how far you've come!
  6. Megan, welcome to this forum! I am excited for you on your journey to good health. I am getting sleeved by Dr. Aceves Dec. 4 and I have the utmost faith in his and his staffs skills. I cannot address your concerns about being a vegetarian but there are so many wonderful sharing people on this forum that will try to help you that you put it out there and they will get you the answer. We are all here for you..
  7. AJW, I am on the pre-op diet and doing the protein drinks/shakes and it was like cement for me. So I bought Miralax and took 2 doses and didn't really notice a difference! Kept waiting. I read the same warning to not take more than 1 week and don't think that will be an issue with me. My husband got some Colon Cleanz herbal formula from GNC which also says not to use more than 7 days but that DID work. Just read the cautions. I have always been regular and this protein stops me up. I hope not to have this issue all the time or I will need to wear a panty liner for all the Proctosol I am slathering on. TMI

Alex, I am having trouble getting into the chat room after logging in. Please help. Thanks.

Tiffy, I think the chatter has slowed down too, maybe the holidays? Or maybe all the senior sleevers have been so thorough and covered most of it? I still love hearing you guys get on a TMI subject, gives me a chuckle. I am thankful for all the help and concern that you all share with us newbys and especially covering some subjects that you don't know how to ask.... Happy Thanksgiving all!

deedee, so sorry you had a bad week and this must be another thing you had to handle w/o the old food habits to lean on. Thanks for sharing and maybe we all can learn how to redirect our frustrations and not sabatoge ourselves.
  11. Daisy, I was wondering why you weren't in the chat room. Rest and take care of yourself and before you know it you will feel so much better. Post soon.
  12. Vegas, you are a hoot!!
  13. Mona, We are here for you, just imagine us all there in the room with you saying a prayer for you and your surgeon.
  14. Gingin,I will thinking of you and sending prayers. You will be fine and soon posting your sleever story for us.
  15. Good luck with the post op diet, you sound very determined to do this right! I am right behind you with a surgery date of Dec 4. We'll be thinking of you!
  16. Vegas, I am from Evansville Indiana, left there when I was 12, Mom and sister are still there. Where are you from?
  17. Gee, that sounds so painful. Don't know what else to do but rest it awhile. How about some swimming exercises. Do you have access to a pool that you could take some classes? The water feels so good and the body is so light to move, although you can do some serious exercises in the water classes. Dont's push it for now.
  18. Oregon, what protein drink did you use on the first clear days after surgery? I am having trouble deciding bc of taste. I know I have to have some drink. Thanks again.
  19. Wow, thank you Oregon for compiling that list. I have so many things saved on my "favorites" from you all. Hope all is well with you.
  20. We'll be thinking of you and know you will be on your way to losing some serious weight! That list you made reminds me of a few things left for me to get. The best to you and let us know how you are doing.

Very well put, exactly how I feel. So glad you are taking charge of the rest of your life, but wonder about all the upcoming milestones myself. Please blog soon after your surgery and let us know everything! Good luck!
  22. Gingin33, I know how excited you must be, I go back and forth but mostly have my head around this surgery and am excited also! About the plane ride, I used to dread flying and had to get my head in a good place and know that I HAD to fly to get to where I was going, its just a means to hurry up that process and especially to get you to the surgeon who is going to change your life.. That xanax will definitely help you. Take your ipod with your favorite songs and zone out!
  23. Dr. Aceves told me to stop all over the counter meds including vitamins except for my prescription BP med, one week bf surgery.
  24. Jane, sounds like you had a great holiday and especially with the cocktails. I wanted to ask, were you able to drink all of a drink or sip sip sip? When you drank did it settle in your stomach or upset it? I am curious about the drinking since seems definitely an occasional treat.

deedee, I know what you mean about relationships and especially ones with your family. Sometimes its something within themselves they can't get past and when you are successful or make a big change they don't know how to take it. Its hurtful but hard to break out of the image they have of you. Guess you will just have to show her the new you. Another thing that is maybe hard for her is that you won't know when to stop and get too thin/sick etc. That is another way of being out of control. Oh happy medium!!
