Tiffy, I am so sorry, and you were feeling so good for so long! What were your symptoms? I have heard some patients are given a certain medicine by their surgeon and sometimes helps, were you? Take care and the best on your surgery next week!

Observations...5 Days Out
Itstime replied to Keys Pirate's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thin, I know the feeling you are talking about, you have to get up to give your stomach room and walk around. Uncomfortable but its that or up it will come. Also I have to have very soft scrambled eggs, almost runny mush, just too thick and heavy. Carol, good for you being on the other side! We stayed an extra day bf going on our cross country flight and I walked the halls which helped me so much prepare for the flight. You are going to do so well on your journey! -
Normal to be able to drink a lot 5 days out?
Itstime replied to 2b4me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know about that much 5 days out from surgery. I do know that I could handle a lot more liquids than when I went on to thick soups and mushies. I could not handle very much and had to get used to the slow chewing, slow eating. The liquids slide down so much easier. -

Yay Chancie, I'm so happy for you getting into a new relationship. Its so hard to guard your heart all the time and never experience someone new. You have the right attitude and I hope you have a wonderful relationship. Glad you are skipping tonight, we have such nasty weather also, south of you in northern Alabama, sleeting! Linda -
Everything will get better from here. The initial nausea is rough but each day it gets better. We also had an extra day to rest up bf we flew home and I ended up walking the halls back and forth moving that gas. I think the hotel was fine but so glad to get home after a long flight. Wish I was down in the keys right now!! Good luck.

Nexium, Prevacid, Prilosec, other? Are you taking anything post-surgery?
Itstime replied to youknowit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You know it, good luck on your surgery, you will love Dr. Aceves and his staff. Or maybe you know them already with the band. Post when you can and we'll be thinking of you! -

This is very hard for me to say but my daughter is getting a divorce, and it is turning out to be bitter. The hard part is the two beautiful grandchildren that I babysit for so that she can go back to school. I realize that the degree she gets will help her and her children live a better life but she has totally become absorbed day and night studying and everything is on hold, including her children who also love their dad. The father has been verbally abusive to her in front of the kids and the separation has been good for that, but he is a better father to them than she is and they miss him so much! I am torn and try to talk to her to be there for them, prioritize but she says this is what I have to do for now. The children are young, 3 and 5 and they need her! I cannot stand the father other than he is so good with the children but feel they would be better off with him? I don't know what to do. I am doing all I can to make them know they are loved...

Thin, I don't know but maybe you have a virus or something. Your intestinal tract was irritated by something and it is the time of year for viruses. Also keep up your liquids, maybe some gatorade to keep up the electrolytes, warm teas, popsicles anything until this passes. Don't eat if you start throwing up, but the liquids are very important. Let your doctor know if this doesn't improve. Good Luck Linda

Nexium, Prevacid, Prilosec, other? Are you taking anything post-surgery?
Itstime replied to youknowit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dr. Aceves told me after I ran out of Nexium, (about 2 months worth that I bought in Mex), that I could switch to prilosec OTC. I was to stay on these meds atleast 3 months, not 6. The prilosec also is a small pill easy to get down. I do want to wean myself off this but will not do it bf then. I sometimes get that empty feeling with the Nexium and think it might be acid production in the stomach, so am glad of the meds now. Don't know of the difference between prevacid and prilosec. -
Thanks for the nutritional hints. Good for you on your exercising, you are doing great! Give Cooper a big kiss for helping you stay on track!

ANY regrets getting the Vertical Sleeve?
Itstime replied to pumpkin07's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Thanks for sharing Tiffy, I knew you had complications but didn't know you were on your own, how awful for you. If anyone had a right to regret you did. Now look at you, what a strong role model and support for this forum! -
Anyone else experience this?
Itstime replied to newmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My stomach will still knot up on me occasionally, just like a spasm, feels good to rub it. Don't know what causes it but is more prevalent in the early evening. Something warm does feel good like Tiff said. The other night I cheated and had popcorn that just dissolved in my mouth and went down so easy...too easy. Got to be careful. -
You are one determined girl Dee dee. I know you will get there one way or another! I took an aquacise class today that wore me out. Lots of catching up to do with my body. Keep it up!!

Yay!!! You are on a roll now. How about your healing abscess? You are really on your way. I lose the same way, hang on for a few days and then the scale drops 2lbs a week. Seems like the more I eat that starts the weight loss again. No problem with that.

I'm so sorry your honey is going again and I am so thankful for our military families and what they go through for us. I know you worry about your stomach, hope all is well and smooths out for you. Prayers for all.
