    Very Sad, Please Read

I am so sorry for your Motherinlaw. For your entire family for that matter. I hope you all heal well and you can forgive your MIL for her transgressions. I do not know why she would not take the surgery and directions seriously. All the postings on this board are filled with warnings to do it right. Thanks for your post. It will serve as a wake up call. God Bless.
  2. good for you lucygoose! Well put. You will be fine. I will call on all my special Angels to care for you and your doctors. Prayers coming your way. and for daughterinlaw also.

    Christmas Goals?

Shutterbug: it is a goal. No one said it had to be reasonable. Think how good you are gonna feel no matter what you loose. Feel good about every single pound. I am happy for you! Chancie: you could go back to liquids for a week to kick start the weight loss again. yes?

    Is this normal?

I am not on an antacid. Funny, I was before surgery. Sheeze we are sure all different! If you have a burning sensation in your tum that is probably what it is. Do you have any anticids around the house? Take one and see if it helps. You should not just suffer until Monday. If you have papaya in your local market, it sooths the stomach really well. the juice works too.

    Speak now PLEASE

for your trip. take extra panties. you may want to change them more than once a day. for the oops. For home, get a package of the 3oz drink cups. Never fill them up. hahahaha I am on week six and still have over half a box, and I use them for everything. I got oyster crackers. They are like little tiny saltines. you can suck on them until they disolve. they seemed to calm my tum. I am talking 1 to 3 a meal from day 3. I got up to 6 and then I was on soft foods and did not need them any more.

    Distressing Pain

Do you think it is a muscle pull? Ice and Ibuprofin if you can take that. If you think it has anything to do with your period, warm heat and tylenol. Pretty hard to help much from cyber land. Sorry. Acid in your stomach? take and antacid, or, are you on previcid?
  9. I had chicken broth with one small spoonful of mashed potatoes mixed in. On the thin diet. I never crushed my thryoid pills. Just took them whole. I cut the pain pills in half and they went down fine. I have chewable vitamins and sub lingual B6/B12. I drink nonfat milk just fine. 3 sips at a sitting. feel so silly. I bought thoes paper drink cups that hold 3 oz. I use thoes alot for everything. chicken soup broth is going to be your new best friend for awhile. I liked beef broth too. I drink the EAS brand Myoplex (chocolate) for my protein drink. Takes me all darn day but I do it. I buy it at VON's/Safeway. I cannot do the powdered protein mix I did before sleeve. Popcycles are good. SF pudding saved my life a few times. Now I eat the greek yogurt mostly. Get some of the new V8 juices and add half water to them. they are tolorable. It really is not too bad, just have patience, it will be over soon.
  10. Your question is a little confusing. Have you had the surgery yet? If so, folllow Normas answer. She is right, no one will notice. Just take the soft foods offered, and drink Water. no alcohol. OR get a juice drink~ 50/50 water and cranberry juice carry that around with you it looks like a drink. I put mine in a wine glass. no one knows or cares. No soda! Find out where the bathroom is right away, so if you do eat too fast, and there is a problem, well, you can make you exit less obtrusive. Remember~~SIP!!! Now, if you have not been sleeved and are asking about the pre op diet, HELL YES we all cheated. No saints in this club. Ya just do the best you can. And, when you are sleeved you get to do so much better! So, go to the party! Have fun, do not tell anyone what you are doing. It is personal and should not be brought up in a party setting. Memorize a couple of jokes before you go. Talk about cooking, sports, books, chairity's, trips planned. That kind of stuff. Enjoy your life! Do not put off one moment for "later" do it all now.

    2 weeks post op

Janet, boy oh boy did you get stuck with a non-techie for a teacher. There is a thread about doing the ticker tape, it is by Adam, It has pictures and all. However, I still do not have a ticker tape at the end of my signature. Just the dancing smilies and I post the weight info every other day or so. I just go to user cp and clik on that and then go to signature, clik and change clik, drop down and change and save. Now, the forums, go to new posts and you will wind up in a lot of threads. Just clik your way around a bit and you will find stuff. You can private message people too, I just clik on their screen name and it takes me to their home page and you can talk to them direct. That is where you can see any photo albums they may have posted. I haven't done that yet either. Sorry. Have fun with this site. I get my questions answered and have a few laughs and deal with some serious issues. I have come to love being on the loosers bench with my sleeve sisters and buddies.Welcome to our club!

I made the souffle in my big cassorle dish. WOW did I ever get rave reviews. Even the kids liked it. Thanks again for sharing.
  13. Yeah NewMom! So glad to hear from you. You are doing better. Happy happy happy. Silly I know, but, so there. We sure are all different in how we react to VSG and beyond. Good thing we can share these multiple experiences! Rest, get strong and keep posting.

    Christmas Goals?

Chancie: I love the " take plenty of pictures and not be hiding behind anyone". I am gonna add that to my goal list for Christmas. Thanks! That would be a NSV moment to remember for me. Not hiding when the camera comes out.Or, always being the photographer.

    trouble with stitch infected

GinGin: Tiffy had to go on a round of antibotics and it worked for her. I was on a round of A/B's right after surgery. I did not want to do another. Sounds like you are on the right path. Hope it works for you. THese infections are nasty little buggers. I kept mine cleaned out twice a day with alcohol and loosly bandaged. It helped, but, until I got that stitch out it was a bit painful. Good luck and keep us posted.

    man food

You are worried about nothing. Really, the sleeve will "tell" you what to eat and how much. I am/was a big steak eater Hubby to. Now not so much. Haven't had a steak yet nor a craving for one. Poor Hubby, nah, he still gets his steaks at lunch. He eats with the guys, so I do not have to feel gulity not making the huge dinners anymore. He is liking eating lite at night. He is sleeping better. Mind you he does not need to loose an ounce. So, do not worry about the food. 2 Months post op you will be bringing in the foods you like a little at a time. Have patience, and when you get all frustrated,, go for a walk.

    December 7th!!!

Wow! I love your Grandmom! Oh to have a supportive family. Many don't. You are so lucky. Hug Grandma for all of us. Congratulations on you decision. and your Date! Welcome to the loosers bench! We play to loose.LOL
  21. I can drink more normal now. I cannot eat any where near "normal". I am looking for something savory to eat. that usually means salty. Get some oyster crackers. suck on one and it dissolves. My tummy loves them. one little cracker at a time. Seems to calm my stomach. Maybe it will help you? In any event, I do not believe you will be eating (or not eating) the way you are forever. It will get better. For you it is just going more slowly. Keep the faith. You will be a better eater eventually. Some of hte "oldtimers" on this board talk about not being able to eat like before and all kinds of changes in eating habits. I know you are frustrated. I get that way too. I want this learning part over and just getting on with my life, but, this is all part of it. Try to find the humor in the circumstance. You will feel better. I love my cream of wheat. I NEVER ate it before. so glad I found it. my new comfort food, all 1/4 cup of it. ha!

    I am in the hosptial

It is very common to have gall bladder problems when you loose weight. Be aware that this is a possible out come of weight loss so you will not need emergency surgery. If you have it done before you get infected or in alot of pain it goes much easier. Oregondaisy: have patience, it will take a couple of weeks to recover from this surgery. It is not like the VSG recovery. Sorry!
  24. Joon, tell NewMom we are all pulling for her. I sure hope the vomiting passes by tonight. She will heal up fast once they get that under control. Boy, we sure all react differently. Glad to hear you are still doing great. R U eating popcycles? grape was my fav.
