    when do others notice?

Yep- I tend to agree with the confidance.... I think I always had confidance, but it has increase as the weight went down. Mountain-lover- I have looked into this, I am still so early out that I need to make goal before I procede with this. If the insurance will pay for the Panicules surgery, that will cover the hospilzation and I can pay for the tummytuck... I'm already saving for this:wink0: Actually- I'm saving for a lower body lift... but am I too old?? should I just forget it? I think I really want it done, but then I think about my age- wish I had the WLS 10 years ago!
  4. I found this recipe and tried it tonight..... I really liked it, as did my son. This was so quick and EZ!!! I used SF orange marmalade, so it took some calories out- Ingredients 16 ounces salmon filets 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper, more or less to your taste 4 tablespoons marmalade, any flavor Directions 1. Rinse filets in Water and pat dry. Sprinkle evenly on top side (non-skin) with cayenne pepper. 2. In a hot frying pan sear salmon on each side for 45-60 seconds. 3. In a small microwave-proof bowl, spoon the marmalade. Microwave for 30 seconds to melt/liquify . 4. Turn salmon fillets, top side up. Spoon a half a tablespoon of liquid marmalade over each filet. Flip immediately. Spoon a half tablespoon over the bottom of each filet. Flip after the top sides have cooked 1 minute. Spoon any remaining marmalade over the tops, reduce heat to medium-low, cover and cook until the fish is done (2-3 minutes). 5. Serve immediately, spooning any marmalde that has melted into the bottom of the pan over the fish. Number of Servings: 4 Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user DILBERTA. PreOp diet advice

Every doc is different...... Mine didn't make me do a 2 week preop diet either. I just had to do liquids 2 days prior to surgery. Of course he didn't want me to gain weight either, but he wasn't real strict. You will do just fine, but the fears are natural!
  11. Wishing you the best..... You will LOVE it!

    Re: New to VST

Hi dancer:smile1: Welcome to the boards! I was ok... I can remember tho at about 3 weeks soooooo tired/weak I could hardly blow try my hair, but that passed quick! I was off work for a long time, had knee replacment and then VSG- then had to wait to see if I still had a job ( long story ) but I beleive I coulda went back in 2 weeks with no problems. Then you get that BURST of energy!! I LOVED that-still do, so much more energy than I have had in yearssssssssssss!! G'Luck to you!! You will be fine!!
  17. Ya know what bothers me more?? When an overweight person asks me what I did ( people I know ), and when I tell them. their reply is, well, I can lose the weight, I just gain it back.........DUH... isn't that what we all did at one time prior to this surgery??? People just don't want to be "educated" and want a "magic" cure.... and there is NONE..... even surgery is not a "fix all" we have to work at it! And THATS what I tell them..... I was really BIG...... I'm still "obese", but not super morbidly obese any more, but when people see me that i havn't seen in a LONG time, they think there is some magic cure to this disease. I think I see disapointment at times when I say the word "surgery"...... they want that magic PILL.......don't want to work for it.
  18. hi Beaglemama.. You're right when you say we're all different..No one can prepare you for what will actually take place, just give you experiences of their own. I kinda put it outta my mind, did not focus on "what if" Yes, there are risks with all surgeries, but I KNEW I would die if I did NOT have this done. I couldn't even walk to the mailbox with out being winded and hurting. I knew I wouldn't be able to work, afraid more of losing my job and my life than the surgery. It's natural to have fears, but I truely believe this surgery saved my life, and it was worth it all..... I wish you the best and if you have any questons, plese feel free to message me.

    Lentil Soup

Stoongal.. Would be VERY interrested in any recipes you have!! The lentil soup sounds great, I'm off work for 3 days and I'm gonna try to cook alot of meals and freeze my last day off so I can start getting on a "better" at work eating plan. They changed my schedule, i work 3 days on and 3 off, 12- 14 hours a day, so I kinda got off schedule with eating. Am at a stall and i think it's because I'm NOT eating, skipping meals!
  20. Hey Steph...... I'm interrested in the tops, I'm still in a 1X .......My problem area is my belly, and I'm 5'8" so I know the pants are a definite no. But I have to wear shite or any shade of blue top to work, so i don't buy clothes for when I'm not working and if you have tops( or sweaters ) that you think might fit me... I'm interrested! Message me!

    I'm finally doing it!

Wooooooo HOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Glad you got your date... and FAST TOOOOO!! Keep us posted!! Things will be fine.....You'll be happy with your choice!!
  22. Nope...... I've never heard of it, but after having the surgery and when you start losing weight and you're able to do more, I imagine it SEEMS like your metabolism speeds up because you are eating less calories and everyone I've talked to are DOING more physically...... But if it does.. I'm all for it too!!!

    krispy kreme

Steph- That is my thoughts exactly! WHY am I sabotaging myself? There is no support group here close to me... but since I am now on a different schedule at work, I should be able to go to Nashville at least twice a month...... am working on that, and am also trying to find a therapist....... I KNOW I am not "normal", I cannot eat like "normal" people........ But now since i have lost weight- I think at times I am....... and I am putting the chocolate in my mouth without even REALIZING it...... A girl at work is a Chocolate Junkie- ALWAYS has it out.... and I catch myself picking up a piece without any thought behind it! THATS why I stayed away from all the other things that I know I am addicted to. I haven't had bread since Dec. prior to my surgery. I stay away from carbs... bread, pasta, rice etc. My weaknesses........I never dreamed chocolate would effect me this way! I did finnaly break my platuea....... lost 4 pounds! Down 146 to date!!! So maybe that will give me motivation!
