  1. Good Luck Susie! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. 10 Lbs is terrific for 2 weeks girl! Way to go.. Keep updates coming when you can.
  2. Thanks again for the information. I have spoken to my family and told then what I think I am going to need them to do and let them know that those things may change on an hourly or minutely (is that a word) basis.. I'm getting excited and nervous and I just wish I had everything behind me already.. the 20th they are going to set my surgery date.. The nice lady on the phone told me that it could be set up for as soon as the following week.. I am going to try and get the first available date after my consultation.. LOL I just want to be done with the surgery and pre op part and start on the "Rest of my Life" part!!! I am trying to find drinkable proteins prior to surgery to see if I can tolerate them. If they have a smell, I can't.. Never could tolerate bad smell or strange smells in food.. Hey and I eat boudin so that is strange to say.. I may just have to eat me some boudin this week a few times, so I won't be craving it after surgery.. did ya'll eat your favorite food right before surgery?? :001_tt2: I want Iced Tea, Boudin, Scrambled eggs mixed with grits and cheese.. Yummm Yumm.. Weird Combination but sooooo good together.. Talk to ya'll later, I'm making myself hungry here.. sorry
  3. My sister just had one done last month, she was sleeved Sept. 16 2008. She didn't have to drink the liquids, but she did have to take 4 pills every 15 minutes for many hours.. She had trouble taking them as well and wasn't able to take the last couple of doses, but she was fine with the ones she had already kept down. This is probably what you should discuss with your physician, as everyone is different.

I'll be over in October for some of that soup Ms.V.Angel!! I get to your town every 3 or 4 months.. My husband and I love coming there.. no we don't gamble much, but we do play BINGO!! We stay downtown on Freemont. Used to stay on the strip, but love love love freemont street and the lights!
  6. Ya'll are so sweet! Thanks for the welcome. Good luck on the procedure to both of you. Hopefully mine will be the first part of August. They are sceduling me the 20th. I'm sooo afraid they are going to find a reason why they CANNOT do mine.. Tell me I"m being silly. My sister keeps telling me of course they are going to be able to do it.. I just worry. Scared to get too excited just yet!
  7. The dr I have in La. is 13000.00.. hmmm.. wonder how long the waiting list would be for the good Dr Aceves.. My sister used the doctor that I am booked for a consultation with on the 20th. She has done amazingly well. Has never felt bad or sick. I'm so proud of her!! Really stressed for the post op because, in case ya'll don't know it, South Louisiana has the best food in the world! You can't live here and stay thin! LOL I'm looking forward to NOT wanting bread pudding with a whiskey sauce.. (my absolute favorite food in the world)
  8. I don't know if you can have this but I take cucumbers and tomatoes and blend them well. then i put them in the freezer until almost frozen for a treat in the summer. My mother always made these for us growing up. I'm the youngest of 8 and all but 1 of us loved these.
  9. I've noticed that a majority on here have used Dr Aceves in Mexico. How much does he charge and how long is the stay there? Thanks for the great welcome, I appreciate it much!!
  10. Just thought I'd take a second and introduce myself. I've been lurking here for a little while. I have a consultation set up for July 20th with a doctor in Louisiana. I will find out that day when they can schedule me to be sleeved. I'm excited, nervous, and scared! I'm so ready to have a date set, but I have a ton of questions that I will be posting soon. I just need time to think of all of them so that I make sense when I do post. If anyone has any good advice on what I should do to prepare my home and my family for the post op and living after surgery, I'd appreciate it. I'm sure someone else has already asked everything I can think of to ask, but I'll probably ask it again!!!! I am looking forward to getting to know all of you lovely peeps as the days move closer and closer for me. Penny :scared0:
