    Dehydration Issues.

Glad to hear it, Steve. One day at a time. So glad the fire is no longer in our area, either. Hope they can get it all the way out very soon.

I'm sorry you were on the receiving end of such an assh*le! Probably some teenager thinking he's cool doing that. There's no excuse for some people's behavior. You should have said "Yes, I'm fat, but what's your excuse for being a RUDE ass?" Oh well, nothing you can do now except think to yourself that you've made the big change to no longer be fat, but that it will take some time and you're OK with that. He'll get his when he smarts off to the wrong person and they flatten him.:thumbup1:

    Regrets?

No regrets whatsoever. Ladiesassie, maybe the bypass would have worked better for you, IDK....keep working at it because I know you can do it.
  4. VS is so over-rated. Back in the day of skinny, I bought a very sexy LOOKING bra from them, and after I wore it a few times decided that it was just not comfortable and it wasn't made very well. They are expensive and IMHO the quality isn't there and neither is the comfort. They do, however, have great marketing to entice people to buy, but so not worth it (to me, anyway.) Stick with upscale department stores for better quality and lasting power.

/ Surgery has many inherent risks, including death. Everyone has to sign a form saying they understand that, HOWEVER, that doesn't mean it's OK for a doctor to knick an organ which caused so much blood loss they had to remove the organ. Sorry, I worked in the medical malpractice field for a long time so maybe I'm just sensitive to the topic. It still wouldn't hurt to discuss with an attorney just to see if there's any issue or no issue. If you went to Mexico for surgery, however, that's different; I wouldn't know who to talk to about such things. I'm just glad I had Dr. Aceves as my surgeon and had no misadventures.

Who was your doctor and where did you have this done? The doctor should not have "knicked" anything. If you were in the states, you might want to speak to an attorney about medical malpractice issues.
  7. Yes, I agree, there is some scale gremlin who says "Here she comes, keep your foot on the same weight as yesterday button so she thinks she's not losing ..... heh-heh-heh!" I'm going to squash that guy when I find him!:scared0::blushing:
  8. I'm back to stall status, could be the heat and humidity we've have lately. I tried tunafish with mayo for lunch. Took about 4 bites and tummy said NO....don't like that stuff, do not feed it to me. So that was the end of the tuna, sadly, and I like tuna. Guess not now; don't know about the future?

I'll tell you what: if I eat more than say 36 grams of protein at once, it gives me diarrhea; same with my husband, so maybe it depends on the person more than the protein grams.

I should have added this disclaimer: IF you're an athlete burning through lots of calories daily, THEN your body can handle more Protein than the 30 grams. If you're NOT an athlete and are doing just regular exercise or mild exercise, 30 grams is about it at one sitting.

Remember you can only absorb about 30 grams of protein at once, so if you're making up huge amounts of protein in a single drink, you're wasting it and it'll just go right through you.

Thanks for the visual, Bob, just what I didn't need to picture.:001_cool:

    Dehydration Issues.

I drink diet Green Tea in the 16 oz. bottles. I like the Citrus taste and find I can down one of those faster than the same 16 oz. bottle of water which we constantly have in the frig. I take water everywhere, and I keep track of how much I'm getting in. I don't always get in the 64 oz, but I get close. I also watch the color of my urine for sgns of dehydration. My back on the right lower flank has been bothering me today, so that could be a sign of slight dehydration.

Congratulations! How are you feeling? I hope you're doing well and not having any difficulties. Let us know.
  15. My stall seems to be over; I've had a loss (albeit, small) for the last 3 days, so things are moving again. I'm just starting mushies and had 1/2 cup of low-fat small curd cottage cheese yesterday. That's 100 cal. and 14 grms of protein, so makes a pretty good snack food, but only 1/2 cup. That sounds like so little, but it was actually more than it sounds like. All went down fine.

    Surgery Today

It sounds like you did not have the morphine spinal, or did you? Because that really makes a huge difference in the pain levels. Dr. Aceves team uses that. I know you were here in the States for your surgery. I remember the anestheiologist telling me that this was a very PAINFUL surgery and that's why they do the morphine spinal. By the time it wears off completely, about day 3, you're no longer in pain. I did not have bad pain at all, just digestive upset as would be expected. I had a hernia repaired as well, but never had spasming. I'm sorry you had such a hard time, and hope you're better now.

    Day 22, post-op, and down 1 pound

I just updated my weight loss ticker to show a 1 pound loss. I KNOW, that's sooo slow since the last time I updated it was 8/20/09, that's how long it took to bounce around and finally come down. In fact there's been a loss for the last three days, but not a full pound off. I certainly hope this moves a little faster as I'll be one month post-op on Sept. 10th!

    Sunday, Aug. 30th

Movement on the scale this morning, down .6 pounds and .2 yesterday, so that's good. Now I'm back to where I was on Aug. 22nd, that's how long the stall lasted. I'm not even on mushies, technically, until tomorrow. A food you can have on full-liquids is watermelon in small pieces, so that's great to have the texture in your mouth. It mushes down to only liquid so it's easy going down. I have a small bowl as a mid-morning and afternoon snack between protein servings. Anyway, the scale is once again my friend and hopefully I see more movement this week! :cursing:

  20. Oh, OK, well have fun. We're going to NZ and Australia on 12/31/09 on Silverseas. Have you ever been on a cruise before?
  21. This was my first thought too, but she had the surgery August 18th, so it's more than out of her system.

    August 29th, Sloooowwww Going

Day 19 post-op. I'm down .2 pounds after a big stall. Wonder if this means the stall is over? I hope so; tomorrow will tell. Although I'm two days from mushies, I've been eating clear chicken noodle soup with some mushy small bites of veggies and an occasional noodle. Went down fine. That's all I'm doing except for my Medifast oatmeal thinned way down. Monday I can have cottage cheese and other mushy stuff, oh boy!:biggrin2: Energy is slowing returning. I notice a bit more every day. I can walk through a parking lot without it draining me. My incision from the drain finally closed after about 16 days but that's going to leave a big scar.:mad0:. I wish they could have made that hole a little smaller to begin with. Oh well, the nip/tuck can be revise that.:cursing:
  23. What cruise are you taking and when?
  24. IDK if this is what others experience, but since surgery I have had the shortest anger fuse ever! I used to be very laid back, easy going, not much rattled my cage, but after the surgery - wow, I'm ready to take anyone/everyone's head off with one bite! There was an incident in the grocery store where this guy in line behind me was standing too close and crowding me for no reason. It was all I could do to keep from turning around and telling him to BACK THE F off!! That's how reactionary I've become. At first I thought maybe it was hormones, and maybe it is, but I have zero patience with people these days which makes me almost leery of going out in public. My nice-attude has turned into piss-attude, know what I mean?! Anyone else experience this, or is this just me?:sneaky2: I got a PAST DUE bill in the mail today which of course is a mistake as I never got the original bill. I called the bookkeeper loaded for bear! She didn't answer so I unloaded on her via voice mail. I'm scaring myself!
