    Any April Sleevers

I bought a robe to wear while walking the hospital but I forgot about the IV, so ill probably bring some loose fitting pajama pants, tablet, phone, chargers, slippers, chapstick, lotion, hand sanitizer, not sure about the gas x , not sure if I can take anything or if they'll give me something.

    Any April Sleevers

Hey everyone I'm doing good on my pre op diet. my pre-op diet wasn't bad I just had to follow phase one of the South Beach Diet which was basically cutting out carbs, fruits, and sweets. I can eat meat and vegetables the healthy ones of course no fried foods so it's been pretty good. the day before surgery I can have a low carb high protein breakfast and then all liquids for the rest of the day until midnight. but I have to admit I did have a couple of last meals. my last meal was at TGIF on march 27th I had the baby back ribs , shrimp and fries . that was supposed to be my farewell dinner but then the next day I had Chinese and the next day I started on my actual phase 1 so I had 2 farewell meals but like I said I can eat steak , burger , fish baked chicken so I'm doing pretty good not missing much yet my fear is fear after the surgery worrying about if I can get enough protein in. I plan on packing my bag for the hospital tomorrow.
  6. After surgery do you still get headaches from not eating enough.

    Hungry Headaches-Post-Op

My surgery is not 'til April 8th, but last night all through the night I had a terrible headache and I realized this morning I really didn't eat a lot yesterday. So I was wondering from some of our vets if this happens throughout the journey? the day before surgery I can have a low carb breakfast and then I have to be on all liquids the rest of the day till midnight.

    day one post surgery

I know what you mean joe. Sometimes I eat because I'm bored. Ive been thinking if it would be hard to watch the family eat and I cant. -take out at least twice a week. I think I can resist the food on my own but I had to tell them to stop offering me food. My struggle now at 8 days Pre-Op is giving up my nightly bowl of popcorn. Lol... that was a ritual fof me. But I know this is just 1 stage in the procedure and a few weeks out we will be eating our regular meals but making bettef choices on what those meals are....

Another idea as well.... Cause me & my coffee was best friends lol. But I have found after drinking that yucky caffeine free coffee in morning I found a decaf peach tea great value brand which is walmart u add to water and it's awesome. Seems to help as well, maybe a mind game not sure lol. Good Luck :)

There's a french vanilla decaf that isn't too bad if you have a keurig machine...that one works for me. Even though it's decaf, I can't live without coffee of some sort!!!

Hey there! My surgery is the 8th of April too. Am on my 6th day of preop diet which consists of protein meal replacements and jello. I have to say I am a little scared but excited at the same time. I am using the Bariatric Advantage (chocolate and vanilla) and really like it made with almond milk. Anyone able to make a good comparison between that and Unjury?

  21. I just told my manager I had to have surgery and would be out for 4 to 6 weeks. they really should not ask you what type of surgery you are having and if someone gets the information of your paperwork and spread it around the hospital they would probably know or should know that is a HIPAA violation and someone can get in a lot of trouble.
  22. on my way to my pre-op training class I guess today is the day I will find out how many days of liquid protein I have to do my surgery is April 8

    1. JeanZ_RN

      JeanZ_RN

Yes, I had mine repaired during sleeve surgery. If the surgeon hadn't told me he did it I would not have known - absolutely no problems.

      joyann45

Thanks for the responses. My Doctor says I will probably be out of work 6 weeks because of the hernia.

      SkinnyMinnyIwillBe

I had mine repaired during surgery as well three weeks ago. I went back to work after 2 weeks and really should have given myself more time. I am and esthetician and doing facials and body treatments and bending over and lifting limbs pulls. Had to reschedule a few body treatment last week and I went ahead and moved them this week as well. I didn't think it was going to be that long of a recovery time but it is in fact important NOT to lift and twist and turn.
