Today was a great day for me, not only because it is my birthday but I had my medical clearance. Everything went fine labs were great, EKG was good too. Dr. Abraham said I was good to go. Now I have to wait for the call from my doctor's office. Anything reason it is a great day is my niece/goddaughter called to tell me I will have a new niece in March. What a GREAT day for me.

When they do the blessing for a speedy recovery at my church I can say I am having Hernia surgery and kinda am since I do have a small one just having a little more added to that surgery. They don't need to know that part. Thanks for the suggestion.

Welcome I am 52 will be 53 in ten days. I am hoping to be banded in January. I also have medical issues. I have been the chubby kid since 4th grade. So believe me I understand weight issues. I know you do great

The only difference is you will be banded. You will be mom just a little different. Hope you get some help if you feel you need it.

My medical clearance date has been changed now it is on December 9 my b-bay. I am kinda glad just gonna wait patiently now.

I had the UGI and then had Transnasal Endoscopy meaning a tube down my nose.I hope you don't have to do that ( no fun).

I completed my pre-op class today. I was the only one in my class. It was good and I learned some interesting stuff. I am going to do my labs and EKG on Monday. I will do my medical clearance on December 2. I am starting to get excited.

I feel the same way. Had a TNE yesterday I had gas at both ends, pain in my stomach and still have sore throat. I hope that is last thing like that they have to do before surgery.

I am glad to know that it's ok. I was thinking about some Barbaque Ribs.

I had my TNE (transnasal esophagoscopy). God knows I don't ever want to do that again unless I am knocked out. I am having pains in my stomach, throat is sore and I just feeling bad. Has anyone else had this done?

I have met my doctor. I have an endoscope to check for a hernia this Tuesday. I will then have my support group meeting, lab work and EKG which can be done in the same day I have be told. I am hope for January 13 or 20 for surgery.

I understand what you mean I have told very few as well. So far only one of those I have told gave me a little grief but she does understand this is for me. I want to tell one of my younger sisters but her daughter is pregnant with first child so I think she has enough on her plate for now. My sister that is right behind me is going to stay at the hospital with me. She is my rock. My husband and youngest son want to do it but I am not feeling it. My stepmom her mom was there when we each had our last hospital stay but since she is in heaven now. We are each other's hospital buddy. I pray things go well for you. I am here if you need someone to talk to.

That is what I am looking for to get off some of these meds.

Welcome Ruth I went to the seminar in August. I went to my first visit in September. I had my psychological evaluation and UGI test two weeks later. I had a second meeting with my doctor in October. In November just check in on my progress. Now I am waiting for my group support meeting, lab work, EKG and medical clearance either the end of November or beginning of December. Next stop is surgery. Hope everything works quickly for you please keep me posted.

Where did you find the Premiere Protein Shakes. I live in Chicago.

My doctor says my UGI test shows thatI am have a hernia. I will need a scope that goes down my nose to see what is going on. Has anyone had one of these? What should I expect?

I found mine at several different stores. Walmart, Target, Food 4 Less (Krogers) any major grocery store.

My was the same so far I am good.
