  1. umm i got notifications for likes on my post so i just liked all yours to see if you get them
  2. just want to say i love hearing daily from my MFP buddies.. always looking for more i'm intelirish both on here and there
  3. Hi yes he will put some in the band. Though I didn't find out till check up time.he did it couldn't remember how much turns out it was 4cc. Good luck
  4. yup had to have some one there in case of emergency - they will transfer you to a hospital and of course some one to drive you home. trust me you don't want to try to do that your self. you will be in and out so fast - they have a room with coffee/tea/water and a TV also free wifi so whomever you bring shouldn't get bored. best of luck
  5. ok AZ Bandsters.. i would look to start meeting up with you all i think it would be awesome if we met some where each week even if it was just to have coffee/tea
  6. I totally have to agree.. i know i could have done more research and found this out before hand. but it really should be shared upfront that no you won't be any where near that green zone right out of surgery and that they will make tiny adjustments to the band after the first one. i had 2cc's added at my first fill and they then told me that they would only adjust it by .25 to .1 at a time going forward. as i'm in a 14cc band.. that will take me YEARS to find restriction if for some reason i need all 14cc's in there. Next fill is on the 12th i'm hoping i can persuade them to be a little more aggressive other wise i'm going to be in their office every 2wks - I too regret telling any one about the surgery.. it's not that i care they know but they look at me now 6wks along and don't see much of a difference.. they look at another coworker who had the gastric bypass and see a HUGE difference..
  7. while i like the idea of being able to control my fill.. i really don't think i could ever stick a needle that bing into my self.. it's hard enough knowing someone else is doing. it.. the dr office said every 2 wks is ok they just couldn't fit me in any sooner so i'm going to keep to that schedule until i get restriction and then slow it down. i managed to lose the 2lbs i gained so i'm back to my lowest weight so far... YEA me.. just got to keep it going..

  9. So i called just to find out the pollicy and they moved it up by one week. i now have an appointment on the 12th rather than on the 18th Zingy..... yes MIL stands for monster in law. and your right no woman will ever be good enough for that woman's sons.. but i really did marry a mommy's boy and i guess i just have to live with it.
  10. I totally get what you are going through which is the main reason i come to this site. to learn new things but mostly to hear the words of wisdom from those that have been there done that. I'm always feeling like i'm a failure that i'm doing something wrong.. then i come here and it helps.. just keep posting and reading what others are doing. you'll find you are not alone. how much are they putting in your band if you have already had 4 fill since surgery 11wks ago.. i have had one and am now at 6cc with a 14cc band
  11. ok guys it's time to be positive.. I'm going to wait the 4wks for my second fill. I'm going to trust in my Dr and his staff that they know best.. I am new to this and i need to learn patience.. 2lbs is not a huge gain..i will lose them... my prob really is I have very little self confidence.. and My MIL is coming to visit in Nov which has put me in a panic.. i know I've lost weight but i just know i'm going to have to sit through her critical stare but i'm not going through this for her i'm doing this for me But if i can't learn to control what i eat and how much - getting that restriction i yearn for might just cause more trouble than it's worth... although lately i have been at or below the recommenced daily calories so things are improving.
  12. So here i am almost 2 weeks since i got a fill and other than when i was at the top of a mountain i have had No restriction what so ever.. I can still eat what i want and how much i want. i've kept my choice as healthy as possible but i have not lost any weight with this fill in fact i put 2lbs on.. having experience the restriction once i now know i am not where i need to be.. i'm so ready put this tool to work. right now it's just such a struggle and hard to keep positive at the same time
  13. They aren't kidding when they say your band will feel different when you go to a different elevation.. OMG..so we went camping this weekend up in the mountains.. and up to this point i really couldn't tell i had a band in me at all. waking up Friday morning to the crisp "COLD" mountain air i was starving and completely forgot my Band manners and wolfed down my breakfast of egg's and guess what it got stuck.. OMG that hurt.. the whole weekend i would try something different to eat some things went down no trouble other's that i had just had the day before got stuck.. it's the worst feeling in the world. .now i'm back to my normal almost sea level elevation and all that restriction has gone.. here's hoping that means i'm just one perhaps 2 fills from being where i need to be. but if your planning on a trip make sure to remember your band manners as i really learnt my lesson on how to chew and eat my food slowly.
  14. People just don't know how to watch what comes out their mouths. i have a close friend that has made similar comments and jabs. i'm working on not paying any attention because at the end of the day i'm the one that counts and my health is what is important. so keeping doing what your doing.. and you are by far the stronger person. to be able to know what you need and not be afraid to go and get it..
  15. I was banded 9/19 and was told i needed to walk at least 45 mins a day starting as soon as i could get my butt in shoes .. but because i had the dreaded hernia repair also no heavy lifting or upper body workouts for 6wks.
  16. going to try this over the weekend.. the fight i have with my scale is starting make me want to throw a fit i know i read all about banisters hell but my word i never thought it could truly be this bad....
  17. Yea i know this journey has been a rough one for you. Keeping my fingers crossed they can get you in soon.
  18. hey there glad your fill went ok.. sounds just like my experience.. i can't really tell i have the band at all.. I'm eating smaller portions but still finding i get hungry quicker than i'd like. but the office staff where great we should try to all get together some where central to every one
  19. thanks guys.. you are all truly wonderful people.. the only thing i replied to her was with WAY TO GO... I will continue to just focus on me.. if she wants to join me on my journey the door will always be open but for now i'll stay on this side of it and figure things out for my self..
  20. Why is it when it comes to weight loss you truly see "friends" for who they really are? Why does it suddenly have to be a competition? Here i am about 5 wks post op still struggling to lose weight haven't found that sweet spot probably won’t' until a few more fills. when i get this email from someone i would have considered a friend right up until I hit read…. All I had asked was where she had been for the last few day’s and that I had missed her at lunch as she was blowing me off.. the response I get. Mostly yada yada yada.. oh I lost 10 more lbs last week getting to the gym WITHOUT you. WTF…. Where is the encouragement in that. Where is the support I had hopped for by sharing what is going on in my life. She knows I had WLS.. suddenly she’s I’d never do that to my body… I feel like I just got kicked right to the curb.. i was there for her through her illness, her husbands illness and most recently her daughters to support, care and just be a friend never once judging.. Feeling completely disillusioned it's not the first jab she's made but i guess it will be the last one i allow her to make.
  21. thanks guys - already i'm feeling better i love this site and advice you all give out i honestly don't know if i could have gone through with everything with out this site. I don't honestly know any one personally that has gone through WLS for the lapband. though i am getting to know some of you wonderful folks better post by post. My brain is telling me for the most part this is still all so new to relax and take it slow. just got to take a deep breath once in a while and come here for some tough love mixed with a lot of common sense.
  22. Ok I just want to rant and whine and complain mostly because I know folks here will most likely give me the virtual slap upside the head I need and tell me to calm down.. actually just writing this post helps put some perspective back.. my problem I’m VERY impatient and need to learn to accept my progress as it is and not stress too much that I’ve not lost enough..But now at 6cc in a 14 cc band I still do not seem to have any restriction. And going forward they told me the biggest adjustments will be .1 cc at a time. I feel at that rate it will take YEARS before I ever get anywhere close to a green zone. How aggressive can I be with fills? I don’t want to wait a year before I find the Green Zone or even feel restriction
  23. the only swallow test i had to do was to sip a warm cup of Water for 5mins to make sure it went down.. not sure i got any restriction from this fill though i guess that some what to be expected as it was my first.. though i have only eaten mush food so far so hard to tell..
  24. WOW .. i'm at 6cc too with a 14cc band hoping i look as amazing at 3mts post op.
  25. Hi I'm a month post op living in maricopa.
