  1. I have the Inamed 10cc band. Size large. I think. You really do need to follow the WLS rules - if you do you will lose so much faster. In six months I have lost more than most women gastric bypass patients. I am usually the "biggest loser" at our monthly support meetings. I am so happy now and my energy level is so high and I don't hurt anywhere anymore. Good luck to you! You will never reqret getting the band. shelli
  2. Thanks Lise, Cool Designs and Presentation!!! shelli
  3. could you please type it on this thread? I couldn't find it in your blog? thanks shelli
  4. I have tried so many kinds but keep returning to the one listed above. Had to consume 4 to 6 of those for two weeks preop. Mix in blender with 1 cup skim milk or 1% milk with 4 ice cubes. Add 1 tsp of vanilla to the vanilla. Like the chocolate and vanilla but don't really like the strawberry. It's hard finding one that you like and drink daily. wishing you the best. shelli:sad_smile:
  5. LJM, WOW! The pictures are amazing and you are Amazing! Thank you! shelli
  6. To losingjustme, Best wishes for a speedy recovery! You are an amazing, strong person! You are in my thoughts and prayers! shelli
  7. I feel your pain with the way your husband is treating you. One of the reasons I decided to get the lap band was because I found that my husband started cheating on me 8 years ago with a 20 year old college girl. At the time he was about 45. When I found out about it he said that it was because I had let myself go etc. So here I am after about a 112 pound loss since August and I want to sleep with him again but he told me this week that if I want to have physical love(sex) I would have to go outside the marriage because he is just not interested anymore. I really don't know what I am going to do about my marriage right now. I am 53 years old and everyone tells me what a beautiful woman I am but I have not had sex in about 8 years. I am very confused and have put so much work into our marriage and life that I just don't know if I can walk away from it now. I am definitely not going to do anything until I reach my goal and I get some plastic surgery to repair the wear and tear on my body of being obese for so many years. I am so sorry to hear that your husband is looking for something else too. The grass is always greener on the other side. Don't let your marital problems cause you to not do well with the lap band. You owe it to yourself to be successful especially since you are experiencing severe health problems. shelli:confused:
  8. Just wanted to stop in and see how everyone is doing and everyone looks like they are making good progress!!! Can't believe it is almost 6 months for me. Enjoying the new smaller me with smaller clothes and no more sore knees but have a long long weight to go. Keep on rockin folks!!! shelli:biggrin2:
  9. How many calories does your surgeon have you sticking to? We are permitted to have between 800 and 1200 per day. It sounds like you need to add more protein and more Fiber to your diet. Try adding a Special K Protein water to your day - 5 grams of protein and 50 calories and a Fiber One Bar(the oat chocolate ones are delicious) - 9 grams of Fiber and 140 calories. The surgeon does not want you to get used to grazing that is why he probably shys away from Snacks. If your not losing than it might be that you are lacking protein. Hope this helps you! shelli:regular_smile:
  10. Candle, you are doing AWESOME too! You are almost at goal! How many fills have you had? How do you feel? Do you ever hear from Clara Mae? So good to hear from you. I will check out the August 2007 Forum if I can find it. How many calories are you sticking to and how often do you exercise? You Rock!!! So good to hear from you!!! shelli:w00t:
  11. Congratulations on accomplishing your weight loss goals! Thank you for serving our country and I look forward to seeing more of your posts. Stay safe! shelli:biggrin2:
  12. If you were banded in August 2007 I would love to hear how you are doing with your band and your progress! shelli:teeth_smile:
  13. Hi Jasmona, Welcome to our club. You are doing fantastic on your weight loss! You can still shop at Avenue as they have a website at avenue.com. They have a lot of coupon specials so this defrays the cost of the shipping. Good luck to you and have a wonderful journey. shelli
  14. Sorry to hear that you are having problems. You have been such an inspiration to me with your journey. Hang in there and I will put you in my prayers. shelli:ohmy:
  15. Thanks Squishee - I really appreciate your suggestions. We went on a date tonight but he is tired and fell asleep in his recliner while I packed his lunch. But my birthday is tomorrow and he bought me a beautiful necklace today when we were out. I'd rather get laid though but oh well - lol. shelli
  16. Well, as of today I have lost 106 lbs. Before the surgery my husband could not keep his hands off me. I enjoyed giving him anything he needed. But since I have had my surgery he will not touch me. It is making me feel really depressed - because I feel so much better and I need him to love me. I don't understand what is going on with him and when I try to talk to him he clams up and goes in another room. Right now I am very frustrated, my sex drive is at the highest it has been in about 10 years. If things don't get better soon I feel I might have an affair. Any suggestions??? shelli
  17. Hi Danna, Wow China in September - you can definitely do it and what an awesome goal. There is really no secret to my success. I will list some of the things that helped me and I hope they will help you too! 1) I kept a food Diary Journal since Day 1 of being banded. Not only did I record what I ate and the calories but I recorded my starting weight, current weight, and goal weight. I made my goal weights in 10 lb. increments so I wouldn't get too depressed. Like right now I weigh 293 so my goal weight is 290. When I reach 290 my goal weight will be 280, etc. 2) I followed the Food Phases pretty much to 100% - I tried to do the best I could each day to follow the different stages and I think that gave me the boost I needed in the beginning. 3) I try to stick to about 900 calories per day and I never go over 1200 calories even if I am having a real hungry day. 4) Before Winter set in I tried to walk 20 or 30 minutes per day. Now I think I have to join a gym or something because it is hard for me to get out and walk with cold temps and icy roads. 5) It is very important to me to attend our monthly lap band support meetings. It keeps me focused at the task at hand. My surgeon and his staff are awesome and the 5 week weigh-ins at his office really help too. I recently had a fill and it has helped me so much with the hunger. I have 5cc's in a 10 cc band. I hope this helps you. If you have any more questions or concerns I will be glad to help you. I hope you have a good weight loss journey so please keep me posted to how you are doing. Take care, shelli
  18. Thank you! Looks like you are doing well also! Congratulations!
  19. Mary, The top 3 things would be: 1) Stick to the different food Phases as close as you can - the first three months are the hardest. 2) I have kept a Food Diary from Day 1. This has kept me very honest with myself. I even kept it on Thanksgiving Day. (This never worked for me when I tried Weight Watchers but with the band it has been very successful for me.) 3) Attend your support meetings regularly and develop a good repoire with your doctor/surgeon. Be honest with him or her. Be honest with yourself. Set realistic goals for yourself. I hope these help. If I can help you in any way in your journey please write me. Regards, shelli:smile:
  20. Good luck with the process. Never give up and let me know when you get approved!!! shelli:smile:
  21. Thanks Socialgal. Looks like you have done reallly well too!
  22. Thanks for the kind words John! Are you banded yet?
  23. Please add me to the 200+ list. I started out at 397 and now weigh 295. My goal is to weigh 150 pounds. So my total weight loss should be about 247 pounds! Now that I have put that in writing it sounds impossible but I have dropped 102 lbs. since August 27, 2007 so I hope to continue on this downward spiral. My surgeon wants me to really try and focus on exercise now which is going to be the real test of my strength because I hate it so much. Well maybe the loose skin will be my motivation. Thanks, shelli:eek:
  24. I have over 200 pounds to lose but this week I made it to 102 pound weight loss. I am about four and one half months out of surgery. The experience has been one of the best of my life! shelli:biggrin:
  25. Hi Candle, How was your trip to Florida? Did you have fun? Did things go well? My son was home from Phoenix at Thanksgiving. He looked wonderful and is doing so well although he is still looking for that special lady. He sure does have a tough time in the love department. He thought I looked awesome and watched my plate everytime I went to eat. I think he is kind of proud of me. His firm works 24/7 so he signed up to work the phones on Christmas Eve and Christmas Evening. He can't make it home for Christmas. We are going to Phoenix in March and at that time I hope to weigh close to 250 so I fit better in the airline seat. Thanks for remembering about my son. You are doing awesome Candle. In my surgeons office he doesn't have any fill assistants. There are only two Bariatric Surgeons in my whole city and my surgeon is the only one that does the lap bands so I guess he has the time. When will you get your next fill? I cannot believe the difference between the first and second fills. I have so much restriction now. Rarely get hungry or cravings. It is awesome and so amazing. Everyone is noticing and I have dropped three dress sizes. I can't wait to get under 300 pounds. I am hoping to do this by the first of the year. So good to hear from you too!!! shelli:girl_hug:
