  1. I wondered where you had gone and I am happy for you to hear all the good news. You are a great inspiration to us so thank you and I wish for you continued success. shelli:ranger:
  2. Thank you so much for your post. I am laughing my ass off, rolling on the floor, with hysterical laughing with the picture you painted with your words.
  3. Hi! I noticed many people after surgery are complaining about nausea so I decided to write and tell you what worked for me. When the anesthesiologist came to talk to me before surgery he asked me what kind of side affects I had before with anesthesia so I explained to him I got very nauseous and vomited so he said he would give me something for the nausea right in my IV during the surgery. After the surgery I experienced no nausea and all the nurses thought I was doing very well and my color looked good. The nurses said that many of the girls get very nauseous after the surgery but my experience was good so I thought I would pass this along. Good luck to all with your surgeries. shelli:ranger:
  4. I had shoulder pain up to two weeks but only when I over did and I got tired. It was weird. It was like my body hit a wall and told me I needed to take it easy and get some rest. shelli:ranger:
  5. Another six pounds - that is awesome. My weight loss has kind of levelled off since I started mushies. Did this happen to anyone else. I only lost 3 pounds this week. How long does everyone have to stick to the mushy/pureed stage? shelli:ranger:
  6. Hi BandZki, yes - after the first two weeks I started to get very hungry again. But I am really trying to stay withing the guidelines that my doctor gave me until my first fill. He wants me to have no more than 800 calories per day, 50 grams of Protein, and all pureed foods. I am journalling all my food intake and one day I had 1000 calories and felt really guilty. I think this is what is called bandster hell before you get your fills and find your sweet spot. Yesterday I was very very hungry. Today I am not. He also advised to put a scoop of unflavored beneprotein in everything I eat to keep the hungries away. I am sorry to hear that you are struggling too. Keep those demons away if you can and know that you are not alone. shelli:ranger:
  7. , yes, when I get tired or too full I have experienced the shoulder pain. It is getting better though. Last night after my evening walk I experienced pain between my shoulder blades. I really pused myself yesterday so I think that is why(I hope) take care, shelli:girl_hug:
  8. mmcbelle, thank you for all your advice and wisdom on your personal trainer experience. I will heed your advice and see if I can find someone who can recommend someone. I hope I can find someone as competent and caring as your trainer sounds. thank you and good luck on your new adventure. shelli
  9. Welcome Aboard! You have made a very important step for the future of you life. Good Luck to you. shelli:ranger:
  10. Also, one more thing to remember is that he is a man. Men can drop weight so much easier and faster than women. There is a man in my group. We weigh the same. Got banded around the same time. When he went for his post op he had lost 45 pounds already(only after 10 days). When I went in for my post op I had "only" 22 pounds gone. That's a real big difference. I was jealous because I was following the exact same post op liquid diet. And I totally agree that McDonalds and ice cream does not a healthy diet make. Gosh I am starting to sound like my mom. Sorry. shelli:ranger:
  11. I was thinking about getting a personal trainer but thought I should lose more first as I am over 350 pounds. Does the trainer take this into consideration when she works you out? I am afraid to do more damage to my joints if I overdo right now. What do you gals think? thanks, shelli:ranger:
  12. Congratulations on your new car! Yes you will love egg salad and feel more satisfied on mushies. I do feel better today. No more headache or fatique. I am retired from an Insurance Company where I serviced Workers Compensation accounts. I hope to find a parttime job once my health gets better but for now my job is to lose weight and feel better. I really don't mind being retired but my husband wished for me to find employement-----------------------------oh well I am sure I am boring you right now.:notagree Have a good evening - I am off to my support group tonight to see how everyone is doing with their new friend. Take care and write when you can. shelli:ranger:
  13. Yumm-------------that sounds good. I am doing fairly well with mushies except my weight loss has kind of levelled off this week and I either need to bump it up with exercise or just be patient. I have put the scale away until next Monday as my doctor advised me to do because I was hopping on once per day and when it didn't move for two days in a row I became a little depressed - just like he told me I would. But I am sticking to the 800 calories, getting in my Protein, and drinking fluids. A trip to Florida sounds good this time of year before the snow sets in but I can see why you are anxious to get a fill. We will show your sister that the band does work - right??? It may take a little more time but we will get there!!! My next appointment is October 9th and my doctor said I WILL be a getting a fill. I have heard he is very aggressive about fills so there is no turning back now. I still get really really full still. Last night for dinner I had 1/4 cup tuna, 1/3 mashed potatoes, and 1/2 cup applesauce which I could not even finish. Tonight we have our monthly support group where you have to speak up and tell people how you are doing. I am a little scared but 30 pounds is a good loss for about 3 weeks right? Well take care and talk to you soon! shelli:girl_hug:
  14. Hi Candle, Where are you? I haven't seen you post in several days? Is everthing going okay? Write when you can. I am thinking of you. shelli:ranger:
  15. The tuna was good - I had 1/4 cup for dinner. It is loaded with good Protein. Did you know that 1/4 cup has 15 grams of protein. I think that is an awesome amount. When you have your first scrambled egg you will think you are in heaven. You are lucky you only have to do mushies for just one week. I have got 3 weeks of mushies, then 6 weeks of Soft Adaptive Foods, and then I can have solid foods. It will probably be around Thanksgiving Day that I am able to have real solid food - what a day to be thankful for but I noticed that I am not losing as quickly with the mushies as I was on the liquids. Oh well I am off to a good start I think. Did you buy your new car yet? Are you feeling better? I hope so - I was very lethargic today so I don't know what is going on. If this continues I will have to call the doc. Well take care and write soon. shelli:ranger:
  16. Thanks for the tips. I will give that a try! shelli:ranger:
  17. Thanks for the advice - I will give it another try. shelli:ranger:
  18. thanks babygirl, I will give it a try. shelli:bandit
  19. Dave, do you blend the the chicken with the Water that is in the can to keep it moist? Thanks for your reply, shelli
  20. I tried to puree the tunafish but it did not work. Did any one else have success with this? Please advise. shelli:help:
  21. Could someone please explain to me how you puree tunafish? I put some drained tuna in my magic bullet look alike and all it did was burn up the motor and it was only on for about 30 seconds. It was actually smoking. I then took the tuna out and put it on a chopping board and chopped it up with a chefs knife. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Am I supposed to be adding liquid or something? Thank you, shelli:help:
  22. Hi Candle, I am finding this difficult too! I love Water and love to drink while eating - just another hurdle to jump over jump jump jump shelli:)
