Post-Op Nausea
Call your doctor and see if they can prescribe something for the nausea so you dont throw up. I know my doctor told me they are going to be sending me home with suppositories so I dont throw up.

Pre-op diet help
I was actually thinking that thought through with DH also, and I think if I had to do shakes three times a day I would go MAD!!! Maybe for three days I could do it BUT not two weeks. My surgeon is linked with my dietician as well as the exercise physiologist. Its a complete group of people there to help you but they are all working together. Which I like.

Pre-op diet help
Wow, feel kinda lucky in a sense. I can have 9-11 oz protein.. low fat protein that is white chicken meat, low fat fish, ff cottage cheese, ff cheese, 2 servings of fruit and 2 plus servings of low carb veggies. I thought I was starving but I think the shakes would make me feel more hungry! Way to go all of us April bandsters.... keep up the good work we can do it...we are winners!!!

Psy evaluation-help
I am on my 2 week pre op diet and I am changing my eating habits now. I chew every bite 25 to 30 times. Eat VERY slowly. And I stop drinking 15 minutes before I eat and wait an hour after I eat to start drinking again.

My Pro OP diet
Hi All, I was reading a thread about some peoples pre op diet just being liquid. I have a two week pre op diet consisting of 9-11 oz of protein ( they tell you which protein..very very low fat), two servings of fruit and at least two servings of veggies a day! I started that yesterday and I thought I was gonna die by about three oclock!!! :faint: After I got through the mid afternoon phase I was doing okay. Hope today is ok...11 oz of protein...I wonder if I will waste away before surgery..LOL:biggrin1: I must admit though, it felt nice going to bed NOT stuffed.:hungry:

EASTER DINNER--what's your plan?
Just thought I would add my disgust at the gluttony of this country...seems like every time you turn around there is some holiday that HAS to be celebrated and WITH FOOD!! Heres an idea..maybe if we all got together with our families at the park and played football or volleyball INSTEAD of sitting to STUFF OUR FACES UNTIL WE CANT BREATHE, this country wouldnt be in the obesity epidemic that it is!! I dont know..just something I thought of but seems like it could be true. :huytsao

EASTER DINNER--what's your plan?
We are going fishing on Easter. No food issues here for me. :hungry: :clap2:

Did you get a lot of questions? How did you handle them?
I agree with the lying..its only your business. The only people who know are my parents, dh parents and my two kids. Why does anyone else need to know? I dont feel like dealing with the food police and answering tons of questions about it RIGHT NOW. I will tell others when I am ready for them to know and only then. Thats my .02! I agree with whoever said people can be so cruel and I also agree that lots of people will be disappointed when I am not the biggest in the room and NOW THEY ARE!!:rolleyes :guess

My turn -- I've slipped
Being that I am not banded yet I dont know anything about what it feels like.. BUT the RN talked to up about slippage and she said the surgeon will make like belt loops to hold my band in place so it doesnt slip BUT it can still happen. Since I am a self payer...this makes me really worry about what would happen if mine would slip or erode. My insurance wont cover ANYTHING...so I am wondering now if they would cover going in to take it out???:phanvan Gosh, best of luck to you and you are such an uplifting person.. you are so positive its so great and makes me happy just to read how positive you are. I would like to have just an ounce of your attitude...could you share please??? LOL...

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
HI Traci, Add me to the April List...just found out today April 19th!!

date set for 4/19
I went for my psyc evaluation and three hour lap band class and saw the surgeon today and surgery is set for 4/19. It seems like I was just at the free seminar yesterday, but it was really 3/10. Today I made out a check to the surgeon for 3,725.00:faint: and I start my two week liver shrinking diet tomorrow. SO ALOT FOR ONE DAY!! I am feeling strange now about all of this, I think it is just that is moved so FAST today that I am not fully adjusted yet that this is becoming a reality. So, tomorrow I have to go shopping and get all the protein items and veggies to eat for the next two weeks. BTW, my last supper was pizza and you know what, I didn't even feel like eating more than two slices!!! Weirdo!! I must be getting:sick ..LOL...anyways I am joining you lapsters this month!!:clap2:
