  1. Mine wont let me do anything but sf jello, water, sf popsiles and broth. I think I have a solution though. My pill has a line on it that I broke it in half, then I took a pill cutter and cut it in half again. If I start taking it at 8 pm I could have it down by ten if I took one piece every 15 minutes. That is what I have come up with tonight. It seems to be working quite well. Oh yeah, before the doc discharged me from the hospital he took me off my cholesterol med and my insulin resistance med. He said I wouldnt be needed them while i Was on a low carb the next two weeks. Hopefully I wont have to be back on them at all...When the cpap goes then I will know I have made progress!! Deanna
  2. The only reason I am not going to be attending as many family barbeques is because NOONE knows except my in laws..none of the brother or sister inlaws...and I want it that way for a while!!! The food doesnt bother me either as of yet..its more of a head hunger like you said..I wonder what that would taste like...not oh my god I WANT FOOD RIGHT NOW kind of thing!! Good luck to you!!Deanna
  3. The night of surgery the nurse tried to get me to take my medicine crushed with some water!! I stuck my finger down in that and tasted it!!!:faint: THOUGHT I WOULD THROW UP RIGHT THERE!!! SOOOO I didnt take it. Last night I crushed it up and put it in some broth...:omg: JUST AS BAD!!! I did it though...swearing to never do it that way again!! I called my RN and she said anything bigger than an M&M could get stuck. I had already checked with the pharmicist about a liquid but there is none and they said it would be fine to crush...BUT with out anything substantial to put it in IT IS TOO GROSS!!!!!!! Does anyone out there have ANY suggestions?? I am soooooo scared to get it stuck but I have to have this medicine...Deanna
  4. LOL...I like the smorgasboard idea...call the neighbors in...come and gat it!!!! I can see not saving money with buying the supplements but I really meant just on food that you are not eating that you used to be eating. I can see it being quite a substantial savings not buying two of everything just so I can eat one box, tray, carton or whatever by myself.
  5. wouldnt that be SO AWESOME!!!! A CRUISE!! WOW..that would be so neat!!
  6. This is a question for the banded...how much do you save on average a month off your food bill now that you are eating normally and not eating everything in the house? I am thinking I am going to save quite a bit of money!! Instead of one of something I used to buy two, just so I could have extra. Deanna
  7. YOU have done sooooo awesome!!! You are such an inspiration to me and to anyone who looks at you!!! WAY TO GO!!! I bet you are SOOO proud of yourself. Deanna
  8. I really think it does matter...your liver sits on top of your stomach and they have to lift if up off and "clamp"it up and away to do the surgery..BUT I also think that it is NOT too late to try!!
  9. I saw something on the internet that showed after you have your band for so long then the stomach heals up over it and it showed a picture that you couldnt even tell where the band was it was covered with scare tissue...THAT scared me into thinking that it would be very hard for the doctor to get it out it that were the case.....I realize that they can get it out and I am relaxing a lot since alot of NICE NICE ladies on this forum replied to an earlier thread I had and gave me a TON of wonderful support and encouragement!! Did anyone else see anything in particular BEFORE or AFTER you had the band that caused a big ole FRIGHT to run through your body that you could not get rid of the mental picture??? Deanna
  10. Where I got my band they have a whols staff set up that you meet and talk with like a dietitian, exercise physiologist, the RN who does your fill. The week after your surgery you go back and have your first breakfast with them!! I think that is soo cool...what a way to start into your liquied stage but than with all of your support people!! I cant wait!!Deanna
  11. HEY!!! THAT is great weight loss...I think we all want to lose ALOT and fast....but I am trying to think of it this way...the slower the less skin I will have to deal with!! and 50 pounds in 3 months...THATS AWESOME!! The way the doctor explained it to me was...they expect 50% of your weight in one year and then the rest in another two years. Thats a total of 3 years to get all weight off. So if you had a hundred pounds to lose..you would already have your 50% off at THREE MONTHS!!! So, give yourself a HUGE pat on the back and say GOOD JOB SELF!!!! DEANNA
  12. LEE, WHAT AN INSPIRATION!!! I dont think I could ride a bike right now...too big...but I cant wait to get one....hubby and I plan on getting one soon!!! Cant wait. GOOD JOB!! Way to go!! Keep up the great job!Deanna

  14. PLM..I was just banded in Idaho Falls on Thursday the 19th by Dr. Baird. Who was your doctor? I live in Pocatello...congrats on your weight lose!!! Deanna
  15. Kelly, I am thinking about you band sister!!! You Go GIRL!!!!
  16. Oh I am soooo glad that you are doing better now!!! That must of been soooo scary!! Glad everything is alright for you!! Deanna
  17. Thank you....I needed to hear all of that. That made me feel better and of course to cry AGAIN!! You guys are awesome!! I hope to be able to make someone feel better one day just like you did me!! Deanna
  18. Oh my gosh I cant for the life of me figure out what I did on the 19th!!! Why am I such a weak person to have to have something put in my body THAT I CANT TAKE OUT!!! I am freaking out hourly crying and bawling and I cant control it. I know the lack of sleep does not help but COME ON!!! Surgery went fine and I really had no pain that was higher than an 8 on the pain scale but it wasnt even my stomach that hurt it was my back!!! I was nauseated ALOT and several times spit out my spit in order to try to control the feeling. My oxygen levels went really low when I went for walks so I had to stay the night. Which was fine with me. The gas pain is bad at times and just when I think it has gone away....here it comes again. I AM AN EMOTIONAL WRECK....I know what everyone is going to say....Hang in there it gets better...but right now I dont see that. I still think this thing inside me is going to end up killing me somehow and I am just to scared to relax enough to get any rest. BUT I have been walking walking walking and hubby pats on my back, that seems to really help with getting some gas out..kinda like burping a baby!! Anyways, thats my emotional roller coaster..first it is the roller coaster of waiting to have it done and then comes this one...OH BROTHER!! Am I going to make it??????:cry :cry :cry I know I will but I sure hope this feeling goes away FAST!!! Deanna... banded 19th of April, just got home Friday the 20th at 1:00pm Mountain time.
  19. You look so good Jesse...your arms look soooo muscular..GREAT JOB...I want to be slim trim and working out just like you ...What an inspiration!!!!
  20. hmm..thats weird because my doctor said that is is quite possible to throw up....and if we get the flu to call right away so they can give me a unfill in case I do throw up. Thats weird...wish doctors would make up their cotton pickin minds.
  21. GOOD JOB!!! Keep thinking happy thoughts and that you can do it..BECAUSE in reality we have ALL done it over and over again...we just undo it by eating way too much again and stopping our exercise..but this time....we wont be able to!!! YOU GO!! Lets make a law, NO MORE PIZZA DELIVERY PEOPLE ALLOWED!!! ANYWHERE!!
  22. I actually didnt have time to do that or I am sure I would have. I went to surgeon and same day got my surgery date for two weeks later so I had to start on the pre op diet the VERY NEXT DAY!!! BUT, I am sure I would have been eating EVERYTHING in sight if I would of had time too!!! I am sort of in a morning phase of food right now... Like...hmmm wonder if everyone else will be healthy and not me because they are shoving food in their mouth and I wont be able to....and then reality sets in..NO I will be the healthy happy one...just SMALLER!!!:heh:
  23. Julie and Autumn, THANK YOU for your words of encouraement and support!! You both said exactly what I needed to hear today!! What a great place for a push in the right direction. I hope that one day I can say just the right words to someone else to ease the fright as you two have done for me today..AGAIN, THANK YOU!!!
  24. Well, I have made it through the two week pre op diet without eating anything that wasnt on my list from the dietician so I feel really good about that. I am stopping my drinking 15 minutes before meals and for a hour after meals so I feel pretty good about that. I am taking small bites and chewing chewing chewing so I feel good about that! BUT, I am freaking out at the thought of surgery in two days and all of the emotions that come along with that. I have to say that I am not really craving any foods but being on the low carb diet I am understanding why I am not craving food all the time. I am just in the same boat as all the "I AM SO FREAKING NERVOUS" cuz its almost here and I hope I dont die...dont have complications....dont bleed....dont have lots of PB...dont have lots of sliming...dont dont dont dont......OK..WOW..I feel a little better now...thanks all for listening...Deanna
  25. Being that I am self pay I am going to stay!! Why not? Although I might change my mind, for now I am thinking of getting my moneys worth!:nervous
