I got a message on my answering machine from BCBS nurse case manager for me to call her. Of course, its too late for me to call her tonight and its Friday.... I have to wait all weekend. My surgery was already approved. From experience--- does anyone know why she is calling-- is it routine???

will someone explain the pre surgery diet to me?

Thanks-- I thought he might have been laying it on a little thick! I realize it will take adjusting to but I think it will be worth it!!

:help: I just had my psy evaluation today. The doc scared me a little about eating post surgery. How eating was a chore and not fun and it would be that way the rest of my life. He suggested I talk to you guys and get your input on it. Is it worth the surgery??? I think it is.... Is it as bad as he made it sound?? Thanks:hungry:

Thanks Kat-- Mine is BCBS of NC and according to my booklet all that they require is a BMI of 40. My doctor asked me to get the last 5 years of documented weight and I am worried because they are at a BMI of 32-38. I guess I just need to give them a call Thanks

HI all-- this has been a very informative site. I have had my initial visit with my doctor. My psy consult, fitness eval and nutrition consult have been scheduled. My BMI is just over 40. I was wonder if anyone out there had BCBS and if they had any trouble getting approved. Thanks:)
