What do you mean? Explain it how? What has your doctor prescribed?

The idea behind the pre-op diet is to shrink the liver and flush some of the fat out of it so it is less risky to retract it out of the way when they are placing the band. It is also helpful to lose some weight before surgery. Some doctors require it, some do not. It is your doctor's choice and you should follow their prescribed diet.
