  1. I too believe you will do GREAT!!! This is just two weeks......TWO WEEKS!! That is not very long. Its a mere drop in the bucket. You are going to be slim, sexy and sassy!!!! Keep with it, it feels sooooooooooooooo good to be able to say at the end of the two weeks, I DID IT AND I DID NOT CHEAT!!! It really does wonders for you morale!!!!
  2. Ok, first of all, you know what the fat is doing to your body. You have to live in your body daily. Whether your friends are fat or skinny, there could be a jealousy factor. Either way, if you lose weight, you will be getting more attention, and that could be driving some of this behavior. I think when someone hears a story, a BAD story, regarding this surgry they are going to be the first to tell you. If they hear a million good stories, they are NOT going to tell you those. Just the bad ones. Go figure, huh? These examples are the exact reason I did not tell a lot of people. I didn't want to hear any negatives. I had my mind made up, was scared shitless to have surgery, and I didn't need anyone telling me bad things. I had read through the whole complications thread and knew about so many of them. I was scared that that could happen to me, but I was also scared that I was going to die just walking out of my house from a heart attack!!!! Its all so personal and wonderful and addicting!!! I am SOOOOO damn happy that I did this for myself!!! I get inspiration EVERYDAY from this site and that means so much to me. Now that I have lost 61.5 pounds in three months I am happy to tell people if they ask me how I am losing. No more hiding for me. No more secrets. I don't go out of my way to tell them, but if they ask I will share. I know that this is the last time I am going to see fat on my body and I am so proud to be able to say that. I work out A LOT. I believe you have to move your body A LOT to burn those calories. As of today, I am no longer fill free. Over three months out and no fill, until today. BUT, I am not willing to let someone else be a sour grape to me. If someone were to tell me something that hurt me or made me mad about the band, I would tell them to get lost. I need positive people around me now, and if someone CAN'T be positive, then get lost!!!
  3. Wow, Chickie, I feel so bad that you have worked so hard and had this great accomplishment and then people accuse you of lying?????? That must feel really weird. I think people need to realize that just because you have lost that much weight in that amount of time doesn't mean they are going to be able to do it. You have worked REALLY hard and worked for your results via LOTS OF EXERCISE!!! My exercise physiologist told me today that there are an elite group of bandsters who "get" that you have to exercise to get the weight off. The band will do its job, but you have to do yours too!!! You have done an amazing job, I truly hope you never leave the boards!!!! PLEASE DON'T!!!!! You have a lot of wisdom and time behind your band and there are some people who want to know and learn. Some people I guess don't want to know the actual work you have to put into it and so therefore accuse you of lying. I, for one, think you are WONDERFUL!!!! Deanna
  4. HP, you have done exceptionally well with your loss. You are doing great!!!Its been a month and a half??? 37 pounds??? WOW!!! Great job girl... Ok Annie....how about that liquid party?? I am on to mushies tomorrow so I am not going to be holding on to the liquid for too long....
  5. Annie wanna get together for a liquid drinking party???? I am not doing so good with this part... I want to eat damn it!!!! This sucks, but I do notice that my stomach is a little upset. Hope it is me making it upset from not getting to eat the lovely steaks that I had planned on eating and not problems....seriously, it feels strange, kinda like gas?????? Like when first banded??
  6. J, you crack me up!!!! Almost everytime I read one of your posts you make me smile most the time laugh, except for the real serious ones, which are few and far between. About the pictures, I was really contemplating putting them on, but then I thought what the hell!!! The first one was April 18th, 2007 the night before surgery and the second one what the 19th of July, 2007 three months post op. I am proud to say I see a HUGE difference in my face as well, as all around, just wish it was gone TODAY!!! I hate all of the fat I have now!! Before it was my reason behind being able to not do a damn thing all day long!!!! The fill is going ok still, I am a bit pissed about me drinking slim fast while DH and DD are having steak, THAT I COOKED, but other than that, I am glad I got it, I think. Especially if some of this hunger stops!!!!
  7. I am also back from my appt. I ended up getting 3 cc's. I have the VanGuard band, so it holds 10 cc's. The RN said that I am working soooo hard that it is time to let the band do some of the work!!! I was kinda happy about that. They are VERY happy with my loss so far!!! J, I asked the Exercise Physiologist about a weight gain after long rides and he said it is almost ineviatable. Your muscles retain water to repair. SOOOOO, you are fine and going to be losing that extra fast!!!
  8. Monday the 23rd a.m. strength training on Bowflex p.m. 15 miles bike ride, in the strong wind:guess, and then the rain:rain:, and then the dark:bandit....what a ride!!!:faint:
  9. Chim, GOOD JOB!!!! I am soooooo very proud of you. It does feel good to exercise and accomplish that!!! 2 more days til you can join the band gang...lol...you are doing awesome. HP...18 is great!!!!!!! And canoeing has got to be A LOT of calories burned!!!
  10. J, oh I didn't mean to make it sound like hubby was being rude, he by no means was!!!! He kept saying to do it he could get me in. It was me who was freaking out!!!!! I know I should of just did it, but I hate to be the one who gets laughed at AGAIN!!! We are going camping this weekend, I will try it then, good, bad, or fat!!!! I am off to do my strength training now. Hope you like the HUGE ass pictures I put on....I don't know how to resize them. I did have to edit the post three times to get the pictures that I wanted, but I finally figured it out!!!!!
  11. oh my god, I did it!!!! Sorry they are sooo big, I don't have a clue about resizing them..
  12. J, You biked an extreme amount of miles this weekend. You would NOT of been able to do that without fueling your body. Your body is going to burn fat, but you have to have an input of energy too. My thought is that your muscles are still in recovery mode right now, holding onto water to repair. A day or two and you will have lost that 2 pounds plus some. Also, what about the other factors? Did you eat something with more sodium than usual, you did say you detoured for lunch, was is restaurant food, which has lots of sodium????? Is it PMS pounds???? I really think that your body holds onto all the water you can drink when you are biking like that. You are sweating sooo much and I think your body doesn't want to let it go, it needs it to repair. J, you are sooooo awesome and have done sooo damn good. 74 pounds!!!!!!! WHAT? DID I SAY 74 POUNDS??????? That is freakin awesome!!!! How many times have you lost 74 pounds and knew in your heart that it was really the LAST time you would ever see those 74 pounds?????? You rock sistah!!!! About the pictures, I tried to post some pictures and it said they were too big. Maybe I will try to paste some, but I wish I knew how people were putting up their before and afters with no problems. Maybe I will do a search on that..... HP, thank you for the compliment. Also, I would think that canoeing would be an extreme amount of calories burned!!!!! Google calories burned by canoeing and see what you come up with. I bet it is A LOT!!!! We went to the lake both Sat and Sun and I really really really wanted to get into the water from the boat but, once again the fat fear monster wouldn't let me. We don't have a ladder or platform on the back of the boat, so you have to get helped in. I was scared if I jumped off, my poor DH who weighs in at 169...the jerk....would NOT be able to help me get back in the boat. So, once again, I did not get to have as much fun as if I was thin and boating. I keep saying next year, next year. But, you know what??? I am TIRED of thinking next year. I want to live my life now!!!!! I am sooooooo tired of waiting....shit, I feel better now...thanks all for listening... Oh, BTW, I go to the fill appt. today. I will ask the EP what he thinks about the weight gain after biking so much this weekend. Maybe he can give some insight to it.
  13. oh I think my mouth is big enough to handle to extra job. About Vegas, we were just trying to figure out some stuff about it, and I hadn't heard anything for awhile so I thought I would check to see what was up. Sounds good. Thanks for the prompt reply!!
  14. Sunday 22nd a.m. 23.5 mile bike ride
  15. You all rock!!!!! You all got it going on!!!!! That is so many miles, J, you are the queen!! And it is good to have someone to challenge us. HP, 18 miles is great!!! Pretty soon you will be doing 50!!! J, what is going on with the Vegas plans? Is there any new info? I rode 23.5 miles this morning....wow...I can't even imagine how your ass feels J, if my feels that way it does now!!
  16. You are soooo welcome. I don't think we should be out in the dark on these machines. We are the ones who have to use them, we should be able to adjust them to make them the best for us.
  17. Saturday the 21. Day off today!!!!
  18. JC, didn't anyone ever teach you NOT to answer the phone on a day off???? I will get some exercise in for you, hoping on 20-30 miles tomorrow. The lake was great and def. better than being hot all day.
  19. oh okay, at least you are doing something constructive with your time. We are off to the lake so have a great day all!!!

Do you have a laptop??? It happens to me too and I was wondering what the heck I was doing to make it do this. I am going to remove the backspace key...LOL...
  21. well, look at the before and after pictures of people. THAT right there is proof that 20-50 pounds is not accurate!!! You doctor sounds like he will benefit and pad his wallet if you elect the bypass. I am three months out and have lost over 60, I DO NOT agree with your doctor at all. A lot of bypass people that I know have gained their weight back, and there is nothing that can help them from doing so. I think you need to find a doctor that is supportive of the lap band.
  22. Oh great!!! I know what you mean about being scared!!! I was too when I did it on the first machine, even though I had the instructions to do it. I only knew how to change the Remstar because of the fact that when they came to set up the new machine, they asked me what pressure I was at, and I told them 10, so he changed it right there in front of me. SOOOO glad it worked for you and hope that you can sleep better now!!
  23. LOL....yeah where is it??
